My history with DeLeon goes back decades. First off they are wonderful people. Kind. Hardworking. Honest. Years ago my mom found an antique fainting couch that was a total mess. I mean a total mess. It had gotten wet and was moldy but she loved it. I told her the only place I knew that could restore that thing to something amazing was DeLeon. So it was handed over with hope to DeLeon. Jose was running the business then and he called me to give me updates but he wanted me to come see the progress that was being made. The springs were repaired and the whole thing was retied with the ropes. He had taken all the pig hair and washed and dried it and replaced it back as it was. He showed me the stamp from the manufacturer that showed the country of origin and year. When he returned that fainting couch to my parents they were beyond shocked. They could not believe how beautiful it was. While it still looked like an antique it looked brand new in the quality of the wood and the tufted fabric. It truly was a work of art and my mom had Jose take other items with him to reupholster. At the same sale I purchased an antique Morris chair. It was in no better shape than the fainting couch. Plus the seat was broken down through the bottom. It came back looking absolutely beautiful and I still use it today. It’s one of my favorite pieces of furniture. A couple of years ago a friend had some old children’s chairs that she wanted to restore. They were handmade and not attractive but when DeLeon’s finished them they were darling! I will say, I doubt if there is anybody in the entire Midwest or maybe even the United States that does the quality of work that DeLeon’s does. There is nothing they can’t restore it seems but when it comes to antiques they are simply the very very best!

I have had two items reupholstered at De Leon, a sofa and a chair both of which I snagged at local antique stores. I first selected them because someone else I knew used them for a job and also because they were a family owned KCK business(which is where I am from). They did a wonderful job on both items. For the sofa they assisted me in selecting a vinyl they carried that everyone thinks is real leather when they sit on the sofa. They also refurbished the chrome frame as well. I would highly recommend De Leon to anyone. For my sofa they came and picked it up at my home and returned it to me when done. Al De Leon was great to work with and I couldn’t help but be charmed by his adorable mother who works in the store as well. When you have quality furniture and are looking for someone who will take care in bringing it back to its original beauty go to De Leon!
