You must join there wine club! Once in awhile they’ll send you special promotions like get $ 20 off your food or even give your friend a free two month wine membership. The food is amazing !!! If you haven’t already been here you need to go!

My wife and went out to this restaurant on June 17, 2016. Everything else about the restaurant was very nice, my wife had the Parmesan crusted chicken. Within an hour of eating I was pulling the car over(she was sick). We emailed the restaurant two times with no response, I will never return and I suggest no one else does neither.

I’m a fan of this place. I’ve been here to eat numerous times and the food is always delicious and the service is always top notch. I’ve done the wine tasting here several times too. They usually have 3 to choose from, the Sweet list, the Monthly list and the Lux list. I LOVE the Lux list. It’s pricier than the other 2 by $ 5 but worth it. Cooper’s Hawk’s Lux wines are some of my favorites. The boyfriend and I finally decided to join their wine club just last night. We went home with 2 bottles of wine plus another that we bought separate(which we went straight home and drank). The server pouring our wine was extremely knowledgeable and even though the bar was full of other tasters, she was attentive. The tasting bar is ALWAYS full. I’ve been here at 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon and the tasting bar was full. Be prepared to maybe wait a bit. Grab a bite at their full-bar or shop their tiny gift section. Either way you slice it, it’s totally worth the wait. The food can be a bit pricey, but it is the Plaza after all. This is a favorite date place of mine and I’m proud to now be a wine club member!

Cooper’s Hawk was the perfect lunch spot at the end of a long weekend in Kansas City. This was my first visit to the restaurant and we ordered a pitcher of the peach Sangria which was delicious and the largest pitcher I have ever had a restaurant it is definitely not just for two people but myself and my fatkid friend finished this Sangria like bosses. We could not decide between lunch entrées so we had them both and shared. The lunch portions were large! We had the salmon and the maple pretzel crusted pork chop. I highly recommend both. Their were so many great options it was really hard to narrow it down to the two we ordered. Needless to say we did not have room for dessert but I would love to go back and try a paired wine flight with an option from their dessert menu.

If you like wine and delicious food this is definitely the place for you! We came an hour before our dinner reservation to enjoy their«monthly tasting» which consisted of a great variety of 6 different wines! We had no wait and our pourer was very knowledgeable and passionate about the wines, which made our experience fun and educational. We enjoyed it so much that we signed up for their wine club! Which is a fantastic deal by the way! We had dinner later upstairs and had the most delectable filet medallions that literally melted in our mouths like chocolate truffles! Our waiter was absolutely fantastic and even helped us find a charge for our phone! He literally bent over backwards to help us with everything! Overall a spectacular fun evening with lots of good food, great wine & lots of laughter

Always fun to do the tastings here. The staff is extremely knowledgable about the wines. Suggestion: add the truffles to the tasting(only $ 1 more!). Only issue is that sing bar can get crowded at times. They generally open a new bar when there’s a line. Finally ate here and found it to to exceed expectations. Again, wait staff was stellar… very attentive. Food was great. Reasonable prices on sandwiches. Ps we recently have a gift card to graduating college student… was a great and different gift.

Late lunch on a lazy Thursday at the bar. Ginger soy salmon was wonderful as was my wife’s chicken piccata. Highly recommend!

«That place is like what you’d get if Two Buck Chuck turned into a restaurant.» Our Über driver dropped that little bon mot as he mercifully whisked us away from Cooper’s Hawk, an overheated food-machine cranking out forgettable, overpriced entrees in Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza. I wish he’d been around before we stumbled into this joint. Heck, maybe a glass of «Charles Shaw Blend» from Trader Joe’s is just your speed — if so, you might like this place. But for everyone else: — The wine menu only contains Cooper’s Hawk varietals. There’s no reserve list. So… uh… I hope you like Cooper’s Hawk wines! — It’s true… the pretzel bread was very tasty. — The server was friendly, but inexperienced. Our appetizers never made it to the table, and she seemed flustered by pretty simple requests. — The food was a C– at best. Veggie enchiladas were bland and lukewarm. The platter had clearly been sitting for at least 15 minutes before it made its way to the table, and the slice of cheese across the top of the enchiladas had hardened into a semi-edible crust on top of the entrée. Tragic waste of a perfectly good slice of cheese. Bottom line… Hire our awesome Über driver before you go to dinner, not after! And if he’s not around, just skip this place. Lots of much better options nearby.

The good: vegetable flatbread appetizer was excellent, Parmesan crusted filet medallions and bacon wrapped shrimp(surf and turf entrée) was excellent, very reasonable prices, menu has a lot of variety The bad: Service was very slow(waited about 40 minutes between appetizers and main course, no mention about it or reassurance that our food was on its way from the waiter), waiter wasn’t friendly(wasn’t rude either but just seemed uninterested in his job) The ugly: my husbands filet was rare(ordered it medium) after waiting so long for our food. With so many excellent restaurants to choose from in KC, not sure if we will be back. If we do, it will be to try the wine flights or happy hour. Overall, not a horrible experience but just not the best.

Visited here again with a girlfriend and had an awesome experience! It was 2 ours to closing but tasting bar was full of people and there was a host that was handing out free samples of a sparkling wine celebrating the opening of a new location. From this sample I purchased a bottle it was excellent not too sweet not too dry. Our waitress was great. My entrée was to die for! I had the Shrimp & Sausage Cavatappi– the flavors popped and had all the right spices. Accompanied this with the infamous pretzel bread. I will be back!

Wonderful service and cuisine! It was our first time at Cooper’s and we came during Restaurant Week. Cody, our server, was exceptionally attentive and had some great suggestions. The RW lunch portions were HUGE! And my Hubby, MIL and I loved our lunch choices. I especially enjoyed the Ginger-Soy Salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes! Excellent, fresh, fantastic sear/crunch to the salmon, and not overcooked. The Asian slaw was also excellent. The Chicken Madeira was wonderful too. And the Salad & Flatbread offering was massive and tasty. The truffles were amazing and the perfect way to end our lunch. We will be back again. Also, in the future, we might become wine club members — pretty cool that you can choose to have your wine held at the restaurant, instead of shipped to you, so you can enjoy it during dinner!

Recently ate here during restaurant week, and was blown away! Beautifully designed interior, when you first walk in there is a «gift shop» area with a different variety of wines and desserts among other things. Our server was wonderful. I ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken, was delicious. The Parmesan crust on the chicken was cooked perfectly. I will be returning!

This is establishment is along the main strip of the plaza and has a well rehearsed winery feel. The downstairs is a tasting bar, or just a bar and you can buy bottles of the house wines. We were seated on the second floor, where the space is open enough to offer nice views of outside and other diners if you are into people watching. Service was acceptable, we were looking for the staff a couple of times. A bottle of cab was served in a contraption called a Rojaus Grapevine Decanter, which lent an air of steampunk chic to our table and marked us as connoisseurs of the unusual or devotees of the pagent. I highly recommend it for spectacle if nothing else; however, there was some belief that the thing would aerator the liquid by somehow drawing in and mixing the proper amount of air for the right amount of time, allowing our wine to breathe instantly! When we turned to food, we noted a nice selection, but nothing we wanted. I’m not sure what I expected on the menu. We decided on the Churrasco Grilled Steak which is a chimichurri rubbed steak with cilantro and lime aioli. Served with Parmesan fries and some roasted carrots. Also, the Chicken Saltimbocca which had prosciutto, provolone, artichoke and capers with a white wine lemon sauce served with potatoes and asparagus. Overall, the A-Ok designation is fitting for the food offerings. This is a fun atmosphere and would be good with friends or for a date, but maybe stick to drinks.

We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were seated right away. I’ve noticed other reviewers say that often times they’ve had to wait a significant amount of time to be seated for their reservations, so I was happy we did not experience that. I really like that they let you taste a wine before you commit to a glass of it. The food menu is too big. Our entire table had a hard time deciding what to order for food and not in the way where everything just looked so good. The number of choices is overwhelming. A smaller menu is much more appealing to me. Our service wasn’t great either. Our server kept disappearing and wasn’t very personable. The food was decent, but I can’t help but wonder if I even ordered the right thing. I would definitely be interested in a wine tasting here one day.

The four of us at the office came in for lunch as a special holiday treat earlier today and I’m happy to report that it was a great experience! Beautiful, modern interior with lots of floors(warning to anyone with mobility problems — there are lots of stairs!). We were seated in a nice comfy booth, which I highly prefer to regular tables. As it was a business lunch we were unable to inbibe in their house wines, but perhaps next time. I ordered a couple of bottles of Pellegrino and drank it out of a wine class just to pretend. We started with the fried calamari appetizer, which was much different than any of its kind that I have ever had and in a good way. It reminded me a lot of General Tso’s chicken, except it was of course squid and had a siracha sauce. Portion was very large! I ordered the filet mignon with a side of steam broccoli and«Betty’s Potatoes», were probably at least 50% cheese but hey, eating healthy wasn’t the point so they were great! Everyone else’s main course looked lovely and my steak came out a perfect medium rare as I had asked — you might be surprised at how difficult it can be to get a steak to come out just right! Not only that but the filet was much larger than I’m used to and I’m used to eating a lot but still couldn’t finish it! Our server was also very nice. Well…after sharing a wonderful crème brûlée for dessert with some espresso it was time to head back to the office to finish the day… stuffed and happy. I am looking forward to coming here for a fancy dinner in the hopefully near future!

They have a great wine selection. They are generous on the tastings and if you order a bottle the tasting fee was reduced(if not completely waived). It can be busy and load at the tasting counter. This place is right on the plaza which is very busy. So be ready for that. If you are looking for a little bit of chill this may not be the place depending on the time of day.

Well, I should not have been surprised looking at the reviews, but I was still a little impressed beyond the norm with this place. This inside is nice. It’s a little heavy on hard surfaces so it can get a little loud, but it’s beautiful. The greetings coming and leaving were nice, too. We had a group of about 16 colleagues and clients upstairs. The put two rows of four tables together to give us a huge table to eat around. So we feasted! Wine I had the Lux Meritage. It’s pretty dry and would work with a nice steak. I also sipped on a few other wines… and my fave was the Cab/Sin blend. That’s an unusual blend, but it was very drinkable and worked fine with my steak later. Pot stickers(very good) Calamari(REALLY good and not overcooked) Lettuce wraps(very good) Egg rolls(very good) Crab/lobster bisque(very good, and a few chunky bits of ingredients for some texture if you prefer that compared to a completely pureed soup). Churrasca Skirt Steak The steak had chimichurri sauce on it and was delicious. I ordered medium rare and this baby come out perfect in spots and rare in others. I’m okay with that, as long as it is warm throughout. The side of carrot and parsnips had an odd spice I did not care for… I could not ID what it was. The parmesan fries were fine. Overall, a very good feast! One poor server was stuck with our entire table and he did a fabulous job.

My first encounter was a disaster when I called to make a reservation for my birthday dinner the manager was rude for no reason but, I moved past that once we got there. We had a party of 13 so, I thought the server couldn’t keep up once I realized we only had one. Our server was amazing! Food was on point, orders were correct and so were our checks! The only downfall is the restaurant not being handicap accessible. My husband tore his Achilles some weeks ago and wasn’t 100% that night but, we took our time on the stairs… and there were ALOT of them. So there, you’ve been warned :) I’m happy I didn’t wear my 6 inches stilettos that night lol

Who doesn’t like happy hour!!! Most of you all probably remember this being a sport bar on the Plaza on the corner connected to West Elms. Now it’s a fancy winery! I totally dig the atmostspher! Happy hour pricing are GREAT for the amount of food you get! Def something to come back to! it’s from 3−6pm $ 5 appz, and $ 5 wines, and $ 5 hand caft cocktail. For 5 different appz, 4 cocktails, a flatbread and soup all for only $ 65! You can’t beat that! Dinning area is upstairs, and it’s very nice! You don’t feel clustered, and the kitchen is upstairs too so your food won’t be cold. There’s also a bar area downstairs, and I’m not talking about the wine tasting bar. By check in area there’s a bar behind there. I haven’t checked it out. So I should do that soon, but it looks very modern and spacous. Down side it is very hard to tell where the dining register. When you walk in the first thing you see is the Wine tasting bar, and it will throw you off! The first time I went there, I thought it was so busy because of the line, but it wasn’t. That’s just where people are tasting wine… so =\ that was a bad set up on their in. That makes the entry way very clustered and confusing. I would definitely recommand coming here for happy hour!
