Hire new cooks, I regret spending my money here. The waffle came out burnt and had no flavor, my eggs were still raw, and my bacon just tasted like crap. I hate the fact I spent $ 20 on this, my server was amazing though.

Today our family came into Zippy’s Kaneohe for lunch. First off– after the newly renovated location, the handicapped parking stalls were moved. Without signage of the new parking location. Ugh. The interior of the restaurant side looks almost exactly the same. The walls do look a little ‘brighter’, but not much difference. We were seated almost instantly after entering– the restaurant side was less than half full. Our waitress SHANNON took extremely long to start helping us(5+ minutes from when we sat down.), and when she did get around to stopping at our table she had NO Personality. The food was like always… Regular. Nothing great, just okay. And one more thing– towards the end of the meal. Shannon walks over to the table WITH the receipt bill in hand, and asked if we’d like anything else… Before I could answer her, she had placed the bill on the corner of the table and turned on me. I had to actually call her back to the table to order my sons dessert. Why ask if you don’t want me to order?!

I just ordered a burrito chili plate and they put just enough chili to cover the burrito? I remember the good old days when the whole main compartment was full of chili! I posted a pic of my plate on here

The food takes forever and the fried rice and chili soup is always cold. The rice is always hard too in the fried rice. It’s like they just use the leftovers from the night before or something.

Nothing worse than eating sticky rice with half cooked Portuguese sausage. I might as well eat the dang thing raw. I saw that they were rushinf but my order shoyld have been prepared better. I could have used the rice for paste in class. I don’t know how anyone can mess up rice. This was the worst bento#2 ever.

This is another disappointment from Zippys. I get a burnt chicken sandwich which to me is unacceptable. Really sad that they can’t tell what’s burnt and what’s not. Really sad Zippys that you cannot serve quality food. Sucks again!

I want to vomit! I at about half way through my blueberry cream cheese Danish, I pulled out a very long dark strand of hair! I am currently blonde, so obviously it couldn’t possibly be mine… And it was baked into the pastry. Ugh never again!

Very bad service. They are very rude and lazy. I would never come back here… never. I should put no stars but I couldn’t post unless I select a star.

We like Zippy’s because you pretty much know what to expect. One thing that is important to remember is that if you choose to dine-in, it’s not a quick in-n-out. You should expect your meal to take 45 minutes and longer. If you want to go quicker, choose the express side. Now that one Zippy closed in Kaneohe, there is only the one location. You can expect a line especially on weekends for breakfast and dinner. If you go, expect to sit and relax. Zippy’s still has a lot of classics… saimin, fried chicken, hamburger steak, chili, chili spaghetti, and more. Finish the meal with an ice cream sundae.

I grew up in Kaneohe. Kaneohe Zippys is like my home away from home. I used to come here before the renovations which was the best Zippys ever with friendly employees and quick service. They then renovated which made the restaurant area seem smaller but brighter and service was okay. I didn’t like the change of having your server as your cashier as it slowed overall service. They used to have a cashier in front. Anyways, I will get to the point. What used to be a great place to eat in Kaneohe is now a horrible place. The service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Came here on a Sunday night a couple of weeks ago and stood in line for a seat for the two of us for over a half hour. There were many empty seats but they forced customers to stand in line and just wait and wait and wait. I’m the meantime, my mom and I watched the same lady employee wipe the same empty table about six times. I wanted to leave but my mom wants to eat there. After about 35 minutes of waiting with ten people in front of us but about 8 empty tables we were finally seated. It took another 30 minutes to take our order. By then it was over an hour since we got there. I can understand if I was busy but it wasn’t. I ordered a small won ton min which was okay. The garlic Fries however was soaked in oil and burnt. Didn’t want to complain and wait another hour. This place is just not what it used to be.

I am not sure what to feel about this Zippy’s. Everytime I come over here it is usually at night and it is often busy. It is conveniently located right next to Windward Mall and right across from the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center along Kamehameha highway. There is a decent amount of parking in front and around the Zippy’s area. The staff and customer service is ok. Like I mentioned, it could get a tad busy especially at night. I remember coming here after tattoo sessions from 808 Tattoo and it was off to Zippy’s for most of the time. They have a sit in section and dine in restaurant kine style section. They have a decent amount of table and seating areas. I think it is the only Zippy’s in Kaneohe town so if you want your Zippy’s fix this is the one for the East siders.

I had a hard, long day at work, so I was NOT in the mood to cook. On the way home, I see the Zippy’s on the corner & pull right in! Zippy’s isn’t fine dining, but they have been a staple all my life.(At least until Unilocal showed me there was more places to go!) They are like the go-to for the last minute dinner, open 24 hours, and will greet you like family! I visited the counter side today because I really just wanted to get home. I was greeted promptly and my order was taken quickly. As I waited, the same person helped me at the bakery counter. As I took my jello cream cheese square with me to sit down, they called my number for my order. That was fast! My order consisted of roast turkey plate(daily special), beef curry(daily special), and 9 pieces of fried chicken. The turkey plate was good(according to my daughter). She would’ve been happier if there were more white than dark meat, but to each their own. Hubby had the beef curry plate. It was gone in 5 minutes. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I had 2 pieces of chicken(the rest for leftovers later this week). The skin was crispy and the meat was tender, but the chicken had no taste. That was a shocker because I like their chicken! The cream cheese square was delicious(my daughter allowed me a small bite). Always my dessert of choice from Zippy’s! I didn’t really have time to look around, but the counter area was clean an organized. The bench was nice to sit while I was waiting. Parking was ample when I visited(around 5:00pm). The service was fast. Zippy’s has been doing this for so long, that they have the business down pat! I may not visit here often, but it’s still one of my backups!

I’ve been to different Zippy’s around the island but Kaneohe was the worst ever! We had to wait for a table, about 10 to 15 minutes. There were tables available but assumed they were short staffed. It took another 15 minutes to order our food. No problem, I was in good company but it took 40 minutes to get our food… and my french fries were cold. I had rice, bacon, and eggs. The rice was cold and very dry. My husband had pancakes and it was a little hard and black stuff from the grill. Our favorite is breakfast, always happy to eat at Zippy’s but not this time. Even the manager tried to help deliver the food. This is the first time we were NOT asked how was everything. I should of read the Unilocal on Zippy’s but didn’t think anyone could mess up breakfast that bad.

The only reason we come here is because it’s one of the only options for dining in Kaneohe. I’m pretty sure this was the last time for me. Mom ordered a Kalua plate. It hardly had any Kalua and cabbage, it was a very small portion. My Korean chicken was pretty lame too. It was more crunchy batter than chicken. You literally had to tear pieces apart to find the damn chicken. It came out cold and I had to ask the waitress to warm it up. The topper? A roach started to crawl on the table toward where my Mom was sitting. We moved to another table but were still pretty grossed out. Service? Always sub-par. Sometimes the waitresses remind me of old airline stewardesses who just don’t care and do their job so they can clock out and get their retirement money. Overall the food, on any given time, comes out COLD. Anytime we’ve been there, we usually have to ask to get the food warmed up again. Don’t even think about ordering a hot Saimin. That’s why God invented Dillingham Saimin where they do it up right!

Make this one a 3.5. Our recent visit to Zippy’s Kaneohe was a huge win. We had a hamburger steak breakfast, a chicken curry katsu saimin, chili fries, and a Zip pac(my wife’s go-to order). We even took home a slice of the custard pie, which turned out to be excellent; I went back the next day to pick up an entire pie! In short, everything was great — delicious and in good portions. It’s diner food, so you have to be good with that, but for diner fare, this was really excellent. The restaurant itself was VERY cold, so bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. Parking was plentiful. It took a while to get seated(too long, imo), but once we were seated, the service was excellent. Our waitress really went the extra mile for us – especially when we wanted to share a couple of the dishes and she split them without even being asked. I drink a lot of water and still got my fill. My family(which has been here longer than I) reports that previous trips to Zippy’s have been decent, but that on occasion, the food has been cold or less satisfying. They report that the service has always been friendly. But this four-star rating was for the trip that I made with the family last week, and I really thought it was an excellent visit. I’d gladly go back.

I normally stop here to grab breakfast while my doggie is getting groomed across the street. Normally a good place, busy but consistent food like all other Zippys. Food: Standard Zippys fare, consistent, fast, and tasty. I usually go with the fried rice for breakfast with an egg and portuguese sausage plus a cup of coffee. Service: Zippys Kaneohe fell short this time. I was seated quickly but they seemed to be running short staffed on this particular Saturday morning. Took my order after about 10 minutes. not too bad. Food came out in about 10 minutes, again not too bad. By the time my food arrived, I had finished my first cup of coffee so I was expecting the server to make her rounds shortly to top off the coffee cups. Waited and waited, she didn’t get back to my table to offer coffee until a full 50 minutes after the meal service. Couldn’t get her attention the few times she did walk by the table. She kept apologizing to the tables around me about the delay in their food. Not really blaming the server, looked like they only had 3 waitress’ for a full restaurant. Value: Good value for the food quality. The portions are not huge but enough for most folks. Lots of options to add on items to your order to make complete meals, kiddie meals, etc. Overall: Hoping this experience was an aberration. Normally the service is quite good at this location, I’ll be back when my dog has her next grooming appointment.

Ordered take-out for ONE chili bowl & a large saimin(soup separate). Went home to our surprise we got 2 chili bowls & noodles with no soup. I tried to mix the chili with the saimin noodles but didn’t taste so good hahaha zippys Kaneohe never fails to screw up take out orders. I’m still trying to figure out how you can screw up a dummy-proof assembly line. It’s about time we put those little pea-sized brains to work.

This location in Kaneohe is located right across Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center. This has been a primary go-to for my family in Kaneohe for years. Most popular items here are the fried chicken, chili and chili frank plate, their take on a bento(called a Zip Pac) and Portuguese Bean Soup. This location also has a Napoleon’s Bakery, with a wide selection of cakes, pastries and pies. However, for today’s lunch, I decided to go with the Wun Tun Min. It was okay, not great. The broth had almost NO flavor, it was like hot water. However, with the addition of shoyu, it was better. I also loved the Wun Tuns, you can’t go wrong with dumplings now, can you? My grandmother got the Zip Pac(which includes a piece of fried chicken, a piece of teriyaki beef, a piece of Spam and a piece of fried fish served over furikake rice and shredded cabbage). Zip Pacs are always good here, the only complaint I would have is that the quality of the teriyaki beef is very inconsistent. Sometimes, the beef is beautifully tender, it cuts like butter. Other times, it’s like eating leather… it’s very chewy and tough. Their service is okay, when it’s not busy. However, when this location gets busy(at lunch or dinner), I’ve noticed that everything goes to chaos. The employees get very disorganized, and even start getting snippity with the customers and each other. I have seen one of the employees, a young girl, raise her voice at an elderly man asking the status of his order. That is unprofessional, and if I had been that man, I would have been very upset. Also, calling in an order before, we have actually had to wait for(not kidding) 1 hour. That is ridiculous for a FOODESTABLISHMENT to put a customer on hold for 1 hour. I also do not like that the phone system is automated now. It takes forever to place a simple order, and it also takes the familial factor out of this local business. All in all, Zippy’s is Zippy’s, and it will always be an island trademark with decent eats. If anything, I just do not appreciate how«automated» and«corporate» this local business is becoming.

After swimming for 2 hours in 88 degree weather in a clean, private pool with 82 degree water with my mom, baby sister, and niece, I was thinking: what could make this moment better? Could it be the cool trade winds dancing through the nearby lychee tree? How about the bright blue sky with the fluffy, white clouds drifting by or the cheerful chirping of tiny wild finches perched on the chain link fence? No — it was the Zippy’s Tripe Stew! We looked up the menu on the«Daily Specials» tab on . Tripe Stew is on Menu D, along with Chicken Katsu Curry, Kalua Pig Cabbage, and Corn Chowder. There are 6 Daily Specials menus(A — F) that rotate through the week. Mom, sis & I ordered takeout to eat poolside. Niece ordered mini spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread(she’s 9 going on 25). It was one of those priceless times when the world stood still and my mind took an epic photograph of this visual, spiritual, emotional, and physical event.(My heart was pounding with happiness! My tummy was overjoyed and content!) We discussed the tender oniions, sweet carrots, savory celery, and just right tripe! The sauce was the correct thickness — not too tomatoey — and was not the sweet type! The brown rice and green salad with ranch dressing topped off our meal nicely! I consumed EVERYTHING! No shame because I was amongst family! However, I had to refrain from licking the dish — it was that good, but mom would not approve… Anyway — thanks to Zippy’s for this priceless experience. We appreciate your consistency, dependability, and convenience! Mahalo for the unique, local dishes(and the baked goods like dobash cake, butter rolls, napples, chantillly cake, etc) that we enjoy so much! We are loyal customers!
