Sometimes a craving comes over you… You want something filling, but you kinda want something healthy since you overindulged during the holidays. You don’t wanna drive to Honolulu because you feel a bit tired. You’re hungry, but not starving… then your friends call you and wanna visit you on the Windward side… SHOOTS! We go Phở My Vi! I was ecstatic when BOTH Jules and Fran wanted to dine with me in my ‘hood! «Whaaat? You gonna drive to Kaneohe? Really? Whoa! What a treat for me! Meet me at the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center by Safeway! Right on! There’s lotsa FREE parking and it’s a pretty nice place! Yay! We started off with Spring Rolls to share. There were only 2, but they were cut in halves, so we each got to try it. We wrapped it in the lettuce, added some vermicelli, and topped it off with some sauce… yum!!! I had the Large Combination Phở which included Tripe, tendon, Beef balls, Rare Round-Eye, and Beef Brisket. It was okay — I have had better since hanging out with Dear Daniel. He knows phở and has introduced me to better tasting broth. Maybe next time, I would ask for the«Vegetable Broth» that Jules had… She had given me a spoonful and it was flavorful! (During another visit, I had the Vermicelli with Marinated Pork and Spring Rolls. The noodles were good, the Spring Rolls were better, and the Pork was delicious! The dipping sauce was missing something… maybe it could be thicker or ?) The service is really great here. I had been here before and the staff was very humble, efficient and helpful! This time, our waitress was so patient and gave us an extra bowl of broth so that we could compare the regular broth with the Vegetable Broth. They let us stay until closing and didn’t pressure us to leave until it was time to go. In a polite manner, we were asked to vacate the shop. It was a very pleasant meal with excellent conversation. I thank the restaurant for allowing us to stay beyond their regular time because they could see that we were having so much fun! We appreciate their respecting our space! Mahalo plenty!

So my sweetie Jules Y. texted me to see if I was down for some phở last night, and of course when it comes to Jules Y, or phở… I am always down! Nothing like a hot bowl of soupy phở when the weather is cold outside… so we made our way down to the Kaneohe side of the island to try a new place for phở, and to top it off, da famous auntie — Nadine C. joined us! Phở My Vi was the place of choice, for phở last night… this little shop is located at the Kaneohe Shopping Center, just next door of the Sumo Ramen shop. Other businesses near by are the L&L Drive Inn, Goodyear auto center, & Safeway. Upon walking into the little restaurant, we were greeted right away, and sat down to an open table. A friendly waitress came right away to drop off some menus & water. Upon scanning the menu, I decided not to get phở that night, so I ended up picking something from the«Egg Noodle» section of the menu. I decided to try the Wonton Bowl — which had ground chicken, shitake mushroom, shoyu pork, green onions, & bean sprouts served with a special seasoned chicken broth. Jules Y. got the Tofu Vegetable Phở, and Nadine C. got the Combination Phở. What can I say about my Wonton Bowl? Ummmmmm, I should have eaten the phở! Lol! Who goes to a Phở restaurant, then proceeds to try & order a Chinese Wonton soup? But of course… a BIGDUMMY like me! Lol! Oh well, live & learn! The soup for the Wonton bowl was very lacking in flavor. The Wonton’s were basically ground chicken meat, and I gotta say it was my fault for not reading the menu good, cuz I was thinking shrimp wontons here. Don’t know why? But that is what I’m totally use to when I eat wontons in Chinatown. I think my friends enjoyed their phở soups… I did get to try some of my sweetie’s tofu vegetable phở, and I must say the vegetable broth was very flavorful! Shucks! It all about ordering the right stuff when you go to a restaurant… I guess in my case, I missed the boat. :( This restaurant is very well lighted, appeared to be well kept, & clean. Service was friendly & good… water was refilled regularly without asking. There is lots of parking available in the Kaneohe Shopping Center, so parking is not an issue over here, if you decide to dine at Phở My Vi. If you decide to check this place out… may I suggest you stick with the phở!

Fast and bee friendly service. But, hate to say it but way overpriced, small portions, and bland. My photo shows a $ 10 chicken phở. Yes, that is with what veggies came out shared with two and I added chili sauce.

Our favorite place to get phở! Their combination phở is tasty and the size is perfect. We have been eating here for years and have never gotten any meal we didn’t like even my 9 and 7 year old love their food.

Place is very clean anxd service is good. The broth on the other hand, is very salty, and lacks flavor.

The food is fresh, well priced, but lacking consistency. It’s a hidden gem within kailua and is the best phở in the area. I love their summer rolls which are always fresh and come with a delicious peanut sauce. Their phở is very good but the flavor varies, sometimes the broth is extremely flavorful and others bland. This consistency of the phở broth is the only thing that I don’t like about this place. They are fast, delicious, conveniently located, and very well priced.

Good clean place. Soup is good. Not too oily. I always get the combination Phở. Has everything including tendon and tripe. Spring roll and pork roll apps are a great starter. Ice coffee tastes like it comes from a can. That’s my only peeve. I like the traditional stuff. All in all, my favorite place to eat Phở in Kaneohe.

So ono. Delicious phở, great service, nice atmosphere. Decent prices. The spring rolls to start were perfectly flavored. I ordered the chicken phở with extra noodles. The chicken was a bit tough but still good. My husband ordered the combination phở with no tripe. He loved it. No complaints. We will be back for sure.

My favorite place to order phở in Kaneohe(there are several, don’t waste your time at those other places). Most people would think that all phở is the same… they are wrong. The phở here has a beefier flavor than the other places in Kaneohe, has nicer ambiance, and a more diverse menu. I usually come here with someone and we split an order of the shrimp dumplings(have to try at least once). The are served in a sweet shoyu vinegar sauce(it actually goes well together). Their phở is inexpensive and very tasty. They also give a lot of meat per order. Their cold noodle with grilled pork is a good alternative if you aren’t in the mood for phở. If I ever have a craving for phở, I will continue to come back here. The service is also on point and their Vietnamese coffee is also very refreshing. If you are in Kaneohe and want a good meal, than this is a good place to come.

Food here is good, the staff is super nice and they are pretty quick to make the food! Appears to be about average price for phở in these parts and they give you a lot. I do find that the chicken is kind of dry but I seem to get that impression with lots of chicken phở. Their curry is okay when you really need that fix and this is the closest place… it’s got some veggies in there that you won’t normally find, which depending on your taste buds may or may not be a good thing. I’ve only ever taken out but always quick to get me the order and it appears they have excellent customer service for those dining in(doesn’t appear to be too busy most of the time though I have seen it pretty packed on occasion– maybe peak hours).

Great little place! Quiet, too. I had the cold noodles(vermicelli) with grilled shrimp and pork. My wife got the curry bowl, and our daughter got the wonton egg noodle bowl. Everyone enjoyed their meals a lot(and the gals got to re-enjoy their leftovers for lunch today). Also enjoyed a pair of café sua da(Vietnamese iced coffees) and a Thai iced tea. Nice little place with good food and friendly staff. Give it a try!

My favorite go-to phở place in Kaneohe would be this one. The ladies are almost always über nice, and the wait is usually minimal. Food is pretty decent, too. The one less star would be going towards the other servers(whom I don’t see all that often, really). Sometimes they aren’t that great, but it’s not that big of an issue because I don’t see them too much. And ps, personally, I think the extra veggies for phở or other dish for $ 5 was a little too much to charge.

Deeeelish! My chicken and fish phở was SOOO flavorful. Love the fish option instead of just chicken. Broth looks so clear and basil and sprouts so fresh. Fish in clay pot was also a nice option. It was cooked in shoyu and ginger type base served with jasmine rice. The lady who served us may be part owner? Anyway she was very attentive and genuine. I’ll have to go back to try more dishes.

The aroma was intoxicating. I didnt need to add any hosin sauce or Sriracha. Med bowl was huge glad i didnt order the large. Will be back to try the other dishes on the menu. Nice bright place to the left of the Safeway. The owner is nice and the staff are polite and inviting. Mist come in if you are in the area and love good phở.

I wish I had written this right away… But here’s what I can remember. I had the phở here and granted most Kaneohe-Ians aren’t super exposed to Phở, but I was greatly disappointed. The phở was mediocre at best. If I was Ono for phở I would still think twice about going back here. I would make the trek to town for my phở jones. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with the phở, it just that there wasn’t anything right about it. To give background, my favorite phở is the one in cultural plaza. But to be honest I don’t have too much experience with phở. I just know what I like… Thai basil and if there are other greens that’s awesome, lemon or lime, shiracha and plum sauce… Those are the standards for me. If you’re on the windward side looking for some good phở, I’d try the one in windward City. It’s so much better. Very tasty, and they give lots of Thai basil. Service was a little slow even tho there weren’t a whole lot of people there. It took awhile to get our bill. The insides were alright. Nothing special but nothing I recall as being bad. Kinda standard for this type of restaurant. My food partner had the curry, which he didn’t care for. We had summer rolls too which I totally don’t remember so it must have been forgettable. It’s not a bad place to eat, despite my lackluster review. I think maybe I just didn’t order the right things. I’ll give it another try probably, but never for the phở. There just aren’t a lot of food places in Kaneohe. Looking to try Viet Thai next to see how they are. I went there a long time ago and thought the food was banging!

Conveniently located in the Kaneohe shopping center right next to L&L. Phở is good but I really enjoy the beef stew with egg noodles. Comes with super tender beef and nice sized carrots. I ask them to hold the tendons as I am not a fan of that. Service is great and dessert sounds yummy although I haven’t tried it yet.

Nice little Vietnamese restaurant in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center! My only issue is that it’s a little pricey for the rice dishes and the portions of said rice dishes aren’t «local-style» huge for the money, but the phở seems to be a nice value. I came with my two little ones for dinner and we ordered a large phở with round eye, beef brisket, and meat ball for $ 9.95 and a grilled pork over rice for $ 10.95. I like that you get your choice of 3 proteins with your phở as not every place does that. They were also nice enough to provide an extra bowl so my kids could split the phở. The service was very good. The phở was good. Broth was reasonably flavored and still receptive to condiments. I enjoyed the grilled pork a lot. Thinner slices, but cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. I’d return!

I have to admit I’m a former townie which means I was surrounded by some of the BEST phở places on the island. So this place doesn’t stand up to those expectations. If you can look past that, the broth is tasty, veggies are fresh, service is quick and polite. If you’re dining in, it gets REALLY cold so bring a jacket or sweater. If you’re not used to it, the meat comes out cooked. Really cooked. And if you order take out and ask for the meat raw, they still cook it. That’s taken some getting use to because the places in Chinatown bring it out rare & let you cook the meat to your liking… at least the ones I’ve been to. For me the meat is the make it or break it. All in all, if you’re in the area and need a quick phở pick me up… this place isn’t too bad.

It’s been awhile since I’ve written a review, so might as well get on with it! Been having a busy schedule lately, so having a «Phở Date Night» with the wife was much needed. Anyone who knows me, knows my wife has an unhealthy yet healthy«Phở addiction». Having dinner at a Phở Restaurant with my wife is like taking a 2 year old to Chuck-E-Cheese, filled with utter excitement. I finally agreed to eat here since we had a couple attempts to try this place, but it was always bad timing, it would be either near to closing hours, or I’m in my moods on giving her a dry spell of not eating Phở for awhile. But since I was in a great mood, I decided to give in to her wants(what can I say? I aim to please most days haha) Cute joint, near Safeway, it has enough tables and space for a good amount of folks to dine in and get a good bite to eat. Our server right away greeted us & informed we could seat wherever we pleased. As we settled in to look at the menu, I noticed that they’re prices were super reasonable, especially the Phở! So I was super excited to get on with my order(because secretly I was craving to eat Phở) & ofcourse my wife was studying the menu to see what Phở interested her as well. Decided to order they’re Brisket & Round Eye Steak Phở Combo, & my wife decided to just order the Brisket Phở. Yum Factors: * Broth has a light flavor but delicious! Didn’t need to add much hot sauce or hossin sauce, it tasted well by itself * Portion is HUGE as the bowl(we ordered Large!) * Right amount of meat & noodles to satisfy anyone *Broth came out steamy HOT, not luke warm or semi hot, it made me small kine break a sweat! Lol Nothing really negative to say about the Phở it was pretty awesome in my words, broth to me makes your Phở, & they’re broth is pretty darn good. We ordered Summer Rolls for appetizer, I like how they add mint inside, all the ingredients seem fresh with that added garnish, not a fan of they’re peanut sauce though, it was pretty watered down & I like mines thick. They’re Thai Ice Tea was a must try for me, & it tasted pretty good, still looking for that taste that I could not ever find since the first time I ever tried it in Seattle, hopefully they’re is a Thai Ice Tea out there that will satisfy my taste buds lol Overall, service was awesome & so was they’re food, would definitely dine in again! Happy Phở Eats Unilocalers!
