First the food was incredible! Beef pork and chicken marinated and tender with just the right amount of charring. Service was good and fast. The décor and parking were both uncomfortable at best. A good little neighborhood find overall. Tourists please stay away to keep this one for the locals.

So I was just here Sunday night to have dinner with my bf’s family. Just an FYI it’s kinda a small place and they only have booth like tables so it’s pretty much first come first serve. Thank god it wasn’t busy that night we went because normally they are very packed. They have regular entrees for you to choose from but it’s cheaper to do the family packs, especially if you are eating with a big party size. That night we had the 3 choice entrée’ it comes with one side rice, kimchee and other vegetables and you can choose your 3 entrees. They give you this super yummy seaweed soup omg it’s to die for ! All the choices we had were pretty good but I loved the meat Jun, that was my favorite. But our total was less than $ 30, and I have to say for all that we got it was definitely worth it. Mind you that our choices of meat came on a separate plate !!!

still a fan! but the prices have gone up – though the portion size is still a lot a lot, and the kim chee that was given to me was 1) not that much, a little plastic cup you put soy sauce in and 2) was not that flavorful as kimchee goes. i’m not there for the kimchee; the kalbee and the chicken are STUPENDOUS! but if you’re name is kimchee i feel like you should represent ;) i happen to get rock star parking there, but it was by luck… still ridiculous to park anywhere without the fear of getting towed. :/

Tonight we opted for a sure fire dinner at Kim Chee. Parking is really bad, but don’t loose heart. Keep looking for parking or walk just a bit-the food is so worth it. It’s fairly busy for a Thursday night and there are so many families here. Food came out relatively quickly. Ordered the mini beef plate-so good and a 3 combo plate. Thanks for a fantastic dinner-coming here is always a sure fire way to get a great meal-mahalo

I love this place, I got the #2 that can feed around 5 people for just $ 55. And its pretty good, there were a lot to eat. Kim chee and soup to start off, and then the main entrees. 5 people averages $ 11 a person. Which is waay worth the $ 11.

Love the food and service here. Lunch special is the best deal because it comes with two choices and a very large serving. They also serve kimchee and seaweed soup that is to die for. Their kimchee is hands down my favorite. I normally get the meat jun and squash katsu combo. The servers are awesome as well!

This was a big mistake. We should have known better after suffering through the dinner at Kimchee II restaurant. I don’t know why I even gave them another chance. Seriously, how can you screw up kimchee at the restaurant that bears the name? This is false advertising. Even the mainland with almost no Koreans have better kimchee, and better Korean food in general. In addition to the food not being very good(my kalbi was bloody) it really expensive. Sometimes food is really expensive because it is really high quality. In this case the food was probably so expensive because the restaurant is not doing well due to food not being of very good quality. Our soup was decent, but not for the amount of money it cost. On the positive side, our waiter was really nice. Definitely will not be here again. Not here nor at any restaurant named Kimchee I, II, III or however many restaurants are owned by this guy.

I LOVEKIMCHEE1 Best food ever! I’ve never tasted chicken so flavorful and TENDER! Their beef Kalbi is great too. Seriously-you will not fun a more delicious Korean BBQ. It’s nothing fancy. If fancy dinning is your thing then Kimchee 1 is not for you. It’s a modest restaurant. But if love large portions, delicious kimchee, great personable service, and delicious meats-this place is for you!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for a long time, and it sucks that I have to leave a review like this, but it couldn’t be helped. I just went again last night with my sister. We were going to eat in, but we noticed that every table available(6 tables) were dirty and covered in dishes. So we decided to take our food to go. There was an Asian lady running around with her head cut off as though she’s never waitressed in her entire life. She left us standing at the register for awhile. We almost left. Finally she asked what we wanted trying to hurry us along so she could do other things. Sorry our measly $ 65 order wasn’t important. She then told us our food would be ready in 20−30mins. So we sat down(at a still dirty table) to wait for our order. Half an hour later we got our food. We both got combination plates and should’ve received a soup. We asked if we could have a soup and we were told it was only for dine in customers and if we wanted the soup she would charge us $ 2.50 per soup. FYI we were going to eat there if the tables were clean! Food is still ono, but service just sucks now. What happened to the other waitresses that use to be there?

Love this place… when I don’t have to pay. The food is good, you get unlimited veggies, and the workers are the sweetest, but that’s still not worth their ridiculously high prices.

Hidden Gem in Kaneohe… Korean food is okay to me. Not my all-time favorite, but don’t dislike it either. HOWEVER! They serve breakfast! Just regular breakfast plates with eggs, meat, and rice. I believe they also serve pancakes too. This is so awesome, being that L&L in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center no longer sells breakfast(Windward City one does, but on the other side of town), iHop has closed down, and Zippy’s is pretty overpriced and bland. Their prices are average. For their Korean food plates, the prices are a little high, BUT they have really good Meat Jun and BBQ chicken. I will definitely try the chicken katsu on my next visit for lunch/dinner. I also like that they serve chicken katsu. It’s not so «Korean-style» and something that those of us who don’t feel like eating Korean food can enjoy. Portions are HUGE! Good for the price you pay. Parking is very limited and on the main road. Kind of unorganized. Hard to get through during a traffic hour. Would still come here for the food though regardless. My fiancé loves Korean food, so perhaps we will eat here again soon.

Never come to Hawaii without eating here, just can’t say how great the food is, the chicken, kalbi, tempura, Mandoo, all amazing and the spicy sauce I can drink it !!!

This is a very good place for Korean on the windward side(there are better places with better prices in town, though). I had the mandoo plate which was a whopping $ 14. It’s not a take-out place so don’t expect take-out Korean prices like Yummy’s. The mandoo was very good, nice and chewy outside with flavorful innards.

So expensive(for dinner), but so good! I just can’t. Two of us getting what we want = paying over $ 50. But everything tastes so damn good, I can’t resist. Portions are big and there will be enough for leftovers… possibly twice. If the prices weren’t as high, we would get take out from here at least once a week. Better deal at lunchtime, but I’m usually busy during the day… And also don’t want to be down with a killer kanak attack from stuffing my face with awesomeness. 10 stars for the food, 0 for the affordability at dinner time. lol.

Today we tried the Lunch special 2 choice entrée for $ 9.50. I got the meat Hun & tonkatsu while my friend ordered BBQ chicken and kalbi ribs. I’d have to say it wasn’t the best I’ve had from this place. The portions are large but I felt the tonkatsu was over breaded. But I do love the seaweed miso soup they serve with each order. The service was good with one women rocking and rolling throughout the entire restaurant. Downside is parking. Super narrow parking lot in the front. Your better off trying to find street parking.

My friend and I were in the area and she suggested Korean food. She said she’d heard good things about this place and it was just a few minutes away so I figured we’d give it a shot. Plus, I would never turn down Korean food. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, we experienced superior customer service. There was a woman and a younger man working that Sunday. They were both extremely kind and helpful when we both weren’t sure what to order. Less than a minute after we sat, we were given water and a small plate of kimchee. My friend got the smaller portion of meat jun and I got the Lunch Special with BBQ chicken, beef, and meat jun. The portions were much bigger than I had expected! It came with rice and a side of veggies. Everything was so tasty; I was highly impressed. After we were finished, we sat around waiting for someone to bring us the bill. Silly us, we had no idea you were supposed to go up and pay when you’re finished and help yourself to take-out boxes for leftovers. This is a pretty convenient way of running things in my opinion. Like I said, customer service was on point. It really made everything that much better. *a couple things that I want to note but not worth taking stars away: The parking is pretty difficult to get through. Pretty limited and probably not suitable for large vehicles. Not their fault though! :) The Kim chee was a bit bland for my liking. But everything else was spectacular. I will definitely be returning to this 5 star gem of a restaurant :)

The four stars was for the food. The food was super delicious! We ordered kalbi, chicken Katsu, meat jun, vegetable tempura & shrimp tempura. The kalbi was on point! So yummy! The chicken Katsu was crispy and moist. The meat jun was different and I liked how it was crispy and not flat like other meat jun. The tempura was real good. The soup that came with the combo was yummy and i wanted more! I liked how they put rice in the soup for the kids. The service wasn’t as quick as we would have liked but seeing it was a holiday and a ton of people were in there, it was understandable. We’ll definitely come back again!

This Kim Chee’s is my favorite one out of all of them. Yes, parking is horrible! The negative ends there! The restaurant itself is older, a little dated, a little beat up, but I think this adds character. It’s not dirty, I’d call it rustic? Maybe? How about comfortable? I love it. I usually only come for lunch on weekdays, because you get to partake in their combo specials for super cheap! I’ve mixed and matched a lot of the selections but my upmost favorite are the kalbi and steamed mandoo plate. Everything is perfectly seasoned and generously proportioned. The list of choices to mix and match for the combo special seems endless, so have fun with it! Service is awesome. It gets busy(for all the right reasons) and there is usually only one waitress(at least when I’ve gone during lunch) so it can be a little slow. But this one waitress is the sweetest auntie ever, and so no complaints here! She really works hard and never seems in a bad mood. She refills and busts and takes orders swiftly, all by herself! High stress and volume doesn’t seem to ever make her grouchy, and her positive attitude is contagious. Check it out for yourself, well worth it!
