Oh wow! This place is great! We had no expectation of finding anything but burgers and pizza in Kanab so Sego blew our minds. Our poke tuna appetizer with avocado was amazing. And the fish entre was perfectly cooked. We haven’t had anything that good since we were in Iceland. And this was southern Utah! Foodie heaven, truly.

I went here one evening because another restaurant in town was too busy. Sego is a small place at a nice hotel and not on the main strip of town. The food was excellent. The menu is not huge, but every item is spiced to have a specific taste and there is enough of a variety that you can enjoy many different flavors. My favorite appetizers were the grilled cesar salad with a fried egg, and the brie with black berries and fresh baked toast. Delicious! The main items range from a vegetarian spicy noodle dish to a cornmeal cooked cat fish. There were some nice beef and chicken dishes, and the key lime parfait and chocolate chip cookies were just the right sweetness to seal the deal. Chef Shawn does a fantastic job of rotating the menu and makes sure that every dish has something that makes it special. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who comes through town. I was only in Kanab for 3 days but I spend two of my evenings at Sego enjoying their delicious food and drinks.

Drove over an hour to get here and the food was well worth it! While spending a few days in Bryce Canyon for our anniversary we wanted a special dinner. After looking online and talking to friends we decided that Sego was the place to go. The food at Sego was amazing. There is nothing comparable anywhere near this area. We started with the artichoke and mushroom toast, this was fantastic! I almost asked for another order. Next up was the Falafel. It was warm, crunchy, soft, and awesome! Ahi was next, this was good but not what I was expecting. The broccolini was the next. This was cooked to perfection and probably my second favorite thing of the evening. The last main course dish we had was the Sego Noodles. The crab noodles were amazing but a little on the spicy side. I loved them but my wife couldn’t handle it, that just left more for me. We asked the waiter about it and he said the chilies that they got that week were spicier than normal and they had adjusted it. Might want to warn people ordering it. We finished the night off with a cookie and ice cream. Perfect sweetness to finish! We ordered 5 dishes and dessert and that was the right amount if not a little more food than we could eat. For pricing I would say it is actually a good value for the quality of food. I was actually expecting the bill to be higher. If you are in the area and looking for something awesome you should go here! (Attached are the pictures of our food. Unfortunately we started eating on some of the things before I remembered to take them.)

Amazing food. Would have never expected this quality of food in Kanab but I am throughly impressed. This place is a MUST if you are in town! Came back to Sego a second night in a row and some how the food was even more amazing. If you are in town you must try the fried rice and Charsui. Some of the best food I have eaten in North America. This is fine dining and the most reasonable pricing! Must try!

After a waitress refused to sit us in a different restaurant, we stumbled across this place. I was worried the place would not be appropriate for my 2 year old toddler. It was V-day weekend and the town was full of tourists. We called and made a reservation to make sure we would get a table. It was 8pm. We arrived early and the hostess told us we could order some drinks and sit in their lounge around. My husband and I both ordered some wine. The place is beautifully decorated. Low dim lights. Soft music. Lots of people of a dinner date. Based on the menu, the small selection of Gourmet food plates didn’t look like they were kid-friendly(mainly picky toddler friendly). I told my husband, that maybe we should just leave pick up some McDonalds and head back to the hotel. My husband told the hostess we were thinking about leaving since we didn’t think they had food items for our son and worried they didn’t have a high chair. The hostess looked at us and said we love kids there no problem I am sure the chef will accommodate your needs. When our table was ready, she sat us down and brought a high chair. After we ordered our food, the waitress brought a disposable cup with a lip with milk for my son and a very good looking PB& J(a sandwich cut up in triangles and served on a white plate). Honestly, it was such a nice touch by the chef. I felt like i could enjoy a nice dinner with my husband. When my toddler fussed, everyone around us was super nice. There was an issue with my food. The waitress quickly fixed the problem and the chef came out to apologize. Their attention to detail and warm welcome makes this a great place in the small town of Kanab. It was my first time visiting and I know for sure I will be back.

Wandered over here tonight not knowing much about it before hand and was very pleasantly surprised. The menu reflected the creative approach of the chef and each dish we ordered was excellent. The service was also excellent and having a pleasant chat with the chef at the end of the meal confirmed our suspicion that the attention to detail, artistic flair and personal touch will make this a hot spot for anyone looking for something a little different in the area.

Fantastic mushroom, sage chicken was good but not the best, cauliflower was excellent and because I’m dairy free I asked for another dip sauce and they recommended chorizo oil which was a great pair!

Couldn’t ask for better! Food was exceptional. Staff could not have been more courteous or considerate. Bent over backwards at the slightest request. We stayed at the hotel so got to experience the restaurant 4 days in a row for breakfast and then once for dinner and they were consistently on it. Too bad I live 20 hours away.

My husband and I were staying at the hotel and made reservations for the valentines special dinner. It was INCREDIBLE. The service was great too. Love both the hotel and the restaurant. Thanks Sego.

By far one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. We had no idea where to eat in this area and saw the restaurant as we checked into the hotel. They were booked for the evening but we’re kind enough to squeeze the four of us in. I am certainly glad they did. The food was fantastic, the service was spectacular and the dessert was delicious. Even though they were really busy with Valentine’s evening the Chef came out to check in on us and spent a few minutes talking. This is absolutely our one stop when we come through this way.

Came here based on rave reviews. The décor and ambiance did not disappoint, food was pretty average for the venue. First– make a reservation, especially if you are visiting during holiday season and want to eat before 9. At 9, however, the packed restaurant was completely cleared out. I called same day at 6 and they gladly reserved us a spot for 8:30. The restaurant is small, décor is very pretty and very trendy, like no trend was overlooked, lol, rivals any Vegas spot. The seating threw me way off. We were a party of two and were shown to our table, which was a tiny round number in front of the half booth. No seating of any kind on opposite side. So… seating for one. I guess everyone is expected to sit on the same side of the table, and either climb onto each other’s lap, awkwardly elbow one another while trying to eat, or… I asked for a chair. Not every party of two is on their honeymoon, y’all. Friends, co-workers and relatives do eat out together, just saying. Don’t make it super awkward. Their tap was frozen, so I couldn’t try any draft beers, went for house margarita instead, which was ok. Ordered foraged mushrooms, scallops and fried rice. Mushrooms were nice, fried rice had a very heavy ginger flavor to it, can’t comment on scallops, I didn’t have any, risotto was sprinkled with Parmesan. We were totally open minded and interested in trying more, but by third dish we grew tired of oil and grease, to the point where we didn’t eat most of the risotto that came with scallops, so we asked for a check and wrapped up our night. The waitress did initially recommend 3 – 4 items per person as portions were small, but I will definitely say the aren’t. I don’t see how one person could possibly eat that much, it was a lot of food, we shared 3 plates and didn’t finish. All in all, very pretty, unusual for the area, but the menu execution needs some fine tuning. Easy on the oil.

Went on a trip to Vegas and ended it with a few days spent at Zion. Sego was the best meal we had the entire week. Actually, this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. This place serves REAL food, tapas style. The waitstaff is super friendly and gave great recommendations on what to try. We had the yellow beet salad w/goat cheese, falafel salad, artichoke and mushroom toasts, scallops w/wild rice risotto and the fried rice. This is a MUST try!

Terrific gastropub– hidden gem. Spot-on service, and very tasty, modern American cuisine. Favorite was lettuce rolls, but it was all fabulous.

What an unexpected delight. A find as we traveled to the Grand Canyon, passing through Kanab and stumbling across Segos. From the warm welcome to the superb service by Angel to the succession of great dishes: beet salad followed by caprese sliders on to grilled salmon and finishing with mini key lime pies. Every dish was prepared beautifully. This was an unexpected joyous meal. Would that it was close to North Carolina where we live.

This restaurant came recommended to us from someone at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary… and we weren’t disappointed. The food is small plates, so the portions are small and if you’re looking for a big dinner, this probably isn’t the place. But, a few of us were tired of the eating orgies we had recently experienced in Las Vegas and this place hit the spot. So, we shared a melted Brie with toast, charsu pork lettuce wraps, sliced skirt steak, grilled cheese and there was more, but I can’t remember what they were. They were all really good, but none of them great… and that’s ok. We did order the warm chocolate chip cookies and milk for dessert and they were quite tasty. They used chocolate chunks instead of chips, and one of us received a cookie with no chocolate in it at all. Service was nice and very friendly, no complaints there. The décor is really pretty — but one complaint — the floor. I’m not sure the floor was actual hardwood and if it was, there might have been installation problems. Every time anyone walked by, the entire table shook, and not just a little. It made the meal uncomfortable. Overall, probably the best eating in Kanab, especially if you are looking for something other than BBQ or Mexican.

I recently was able to experience Sego with my girlfriends. We were celebrating my 40th birthday. We had amazing service. Very prompt. We started with drinks. We had the Prickly Pear Margaritas. Amazing. Strong and just how I like it. Then appetizers. We all chose something different and shared. Everything was amazing. The chef came out and made sure that it was all to our liking. We have told everyone how great it was. We will be going back very soon.

An easy five stars for Kanab Ut. The food was delicious except for one dish(chicken) that was removed from our bill in spite of our protest. The staff is attentive albeit inexperienced. This was the 5th night open. The chef on the other hand seemed knowledgeable and sincerely interested in our opinions and satisfaction. We’ll be back.
