Good sandwich. Good service. Good pit stop decision. Owner was friendly, establishment was cleanish, get the K-Club, not the Veggie.

My late father was a big fan of pork and beef ribs. He would have loved«Mattys» because everything about this place would have made him happy: delicious food, huge portions, and very reasonable prices. Many places in Kanab are«Tourist Traps.» Not so with this unpretentious establishment. On Saturdays, they feature Pork Ribs and Beef Ribs for the ridiculous(by 2015 standards) price of only $ 10.99. *(Note that the Wild Boar Bistro in Glendale, about 30 minutes north of here, charges $ 26.99 for a rack of pork ribs) Did I mention that for an $ 11 price tag, you get a ginormous and meaty slab of ribs with Dutch Oven Potatoes and a side salad. Folks, this was one of the best meals we have had anywhere — definitely the best food in Utah for the price point… DId I mention the sandwiches? So amazingly good and only $ 6 each. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is very HOT. Don’t order it unless you can handle hot and spicy. It reminded me of pulled pork, but with chicken instead.(They also have a Pulled Pork Sandwich) Sandwiches come with your choice of side dish or salad. 2 orders of ribs, one spicy sandwich, and 3 sodas = $ 34.00 total… for THREEPERSONS for a sumptuous meal that kept us full for 2 days… It’s a take out place but they have nice tables and super A/C to keep cool on hot days. Did I mention how nice these people are? Anyone planning a destination wedding in Southern Utah should consider«Matty’s» as a catering option. You could feed 100 people for around $ 1500.00 and your guests will be talking about this BBQ for years to come. On Fridays, they feature Prime Rib. I believe its around $ 14.99 for a huge slab of beef with sides and salad.

Are you looking for fancy? Keep looking, Are you looking for delish at a heck of a price? STOPTHECAR! We had the good fortune to show up on their first ever dinner service night and were delighted! A HUGE slab of Prime rib, a huge potato and asperagus rolled in BACON! All for under 15 $! And the sandwiches looked just as yummy. This place is in the early days but they will iron out the kinks…(REAL silverware with steak in house.) I can’t wait to come back and try lunch!
