Very welcoming! My family and I came in at 9 pm after a long day from the national parks nearby. Mind you– 9 pm is their closing time. They decided they would open later than usual so we could eat :) the food are pretty good too! More traditional than the usual chinese restaurant in America.

As far as Chinese restaurants go this is no five star restaurant. However, it is better than most would expect from a lonely chinese restaurant with no sign of fellow marketers to keep it company with proper ingredients. I found that the food(most notably the rice and lo mein) was quite good, especially for being kept in a cooking pot. The service and comfort set well and altogether shocked me, due to the various negative comments surrounding them. Overall, I was pleased with my experience and definitely would recommend this to anyone with a chinese restaurant crave. –The only major con with this place is it’s prices but if you can suffice with the price you’ll definitely enjoy this place. [3.5/5]

If you want to eat traditional Chinese food, do not go to this place. The food is sweet and no other flavor. I ordered sesame chicken there is little meat and covered a lot of flour. I feel like I eat flour not chicken. It is also pricy,do not go this place.

This place was unbelievably good. All their food is flavorful, and all the sauces are different and unique. There was a huge selection of dishes on the menu. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. It blows my mind that here in the middle of nowhere is an amazing Chinese restaurant. Definitely some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’m only here for 4 days and I’m earnestly considering coming here more than once for dinner.

This is unbelievably good Chinese food. Not unbelievably good for middle of nowhere Utah, just unbelievably good. I live in Los Angeles, where’d you have to wait a longggggg fucking time for food of this quality. We didn’t have to wait at all. ON A SUNDAYNIGHT. Shrimp with string beans is out of this world.

Luo Chinese was very good. The Chinese was especially good despite the environ. The fried rice and orange chicken is made fresh to the amount of heat you want to eat and it is still very hot and crispy when it arrives at your plate. Don’t let appearances keep you from stopping in. The food is great and the pork rolls were really good as an appetizer.

I am lucky since I can find a Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Price is ok and they post a menu with price outside the building. We know it before we enter. Don’t understand why people are complaining about their price. You have to understand they have to get their supplies hundred of miles away. Chinese broccoli, Bok choy and tofu are not selling in local grocery store. If people want to eat cheap, just go to the McDonald’s around the corner. They have all pre made foods prepared by min wage workers with dirt cheap price. Chinese food need a chef to cook and their price are low 10ish. We pay 10ish for diner in LA and we pay ½ when you eat at Panda Express. We all know how the math works. 15% service charge is fair. That is all we do in big cities. So people want to take advantage of a mom and pop restaurant in small town? I see they serve Lunch special under $ 10, not bad at all. Their service is ok. Frequent visit to see what we need. We can pay credit card. Bathroom is very clean. I don’t feel thirsty after diner so no or not much msg for sure. Only cons is that it is very quiet. Maybe they can put a tv to cheer up a little bit.

Worst Chinese ever!!! Ridiculously high prices(double of what you normally see at typical Chinese), portions are small, mostly veggies very skimpy on the meat! Stay away, get a gas station sandwich instead, seriously!

I’ve been pretty hard on the restaurants in Kanab and unfortunately, this will be another ho-hum review. I called and ordered«take-out». We ordered the Pork Fried Rice and the Sweet & Sour Chicken. Both dishes were very mediocre and nothing special. The fried rice was soft and mushy, and the sauce for the Sweet & Sour Chicken was bland tasting. Those two dishes are pretty typical for a Chinese restaurant and should be easy to make them taste good. These did not. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nothing special. I was glad I was picking my food up and not staying to dine.

It’s pretty bad! This is Chinese food at a very poor standard. Can’t make egg drop soup or chicken curry. Don’t waist your time. The fortune cookie was okay:)

Can’t believe this place is showing as a 3 star. Amazing food! And reasonable priced compared to other places in town.

We waited for 15 minutes without being seated or even acknowledged, so we just left. We thought the staff were very rude by ignoring us. Also, it appeared that a child was helping work the restaurant, probably a family member. Also, the bathroom was disgusting.

Awesome food. Vegetarians have lots of options. Must have for vegetarians is their hot and sour soup and eggplant claypot or with tofu !! Food quality very much like homemade style. Very good place to have lunch !!

It’s been a year since I’ve been here with my family, but since I’ve dusted off my winter coat and found their business card in my pocket(which I kept as a reminder to write a review for this place), I am now writing this review as the mere sight of their business card has brought back traumatic food experiences. Service here is a huge problem. Being Chinese myself I am used to poor service often given in most authentic Chinese restaurants, but this place has completely redefined for me how absolutely abysmal service at a Chinese restaurant could be. The staff argued with my me and my parents about what we should order, telling us what we could or could not order! After a long day of hiking in Zion, my immediate family and I(6 people) decided that we’ll just go ahead and go with their«demands». We ordered 8 dishes total. While waiting for our food, we overheard the employees in the kitchen yelling at each other in Chinese that they were running out of the vegetables for our dish! And these were the dishes that they demanded we order. When the dishes finally came out, it looked like someone had already eaten half of our plates(which was no surprise after hearing what they were talking about). You could literally see more of the plate, on which the food was served, than you could see food. This wasn’t just for one dish, but for all 8. Even the«pot of rice»(which costed us $ 5) that we ordered on the side, was just a small bowl of rice that split into 1 or 2 spoonfuls of rice for each of us in our family of 6. Simply outrageous. How can you deny asians of their rice?! Being the winter, my family and I thought that it was a slow season so their kitchen wasn’t stocked as well as it should have, but we later found that it wasn’t necessarily the case. A family of 3, who looked like locals, visited the restaurant after we did and ordered items similar to what we had ordered. Their plate of fried rice was more than double what we had ordered and their plate of orange chicken actually had pieces of chicken stacked on top of each other. Not only this, but they placed their order at least 10 minutes after us, and got served 20 minutes before us. To top it all off, when we told the Madam who looked most likely to be the manager/owner of the restaurant at the time about our thoughts, she took it as a death threat and retaliated. She immediately began yelling at us and verbally accusing us of trying talk down on her restaurant and denied our claims. Sick and tired of the overall experience, my family paid the bill(~$ 120 for what you could probably get for $ 10 at panda express) and left. Moreover, I was here with my extended family as well(about 30 of us total) and they all had the same experienced of horrendous service, not being able to order some items listed on the menu, and tiny portions. Never am I ever, going to come back here again. Similar to the review written by Jassy A., if you are a tourist I advise that you stay away.

My husband and I just stopped for the night at the Sun & Sand, and were tired and more than ready for dinner. My parents had recommended a barbecue place, but neither of us wanted to drive any more than we already had, and Luo’s was literally right next door. We had the Lucky Special(orange chicken and cashew chicken) with ham fried rice, wontons, egg rolls and fried shrimp, plus egg drop soup It was a little pricey for the two of us, but the food was really tasty. I wouldn’t say it was as good as the Chinese food I grew up with in Washington state, but it was better than most Chinese restaurants at home in Tucson. We were the only people there and it was about 7. The owner was very sweet and chatty, which was nice. The waitress(her daughter?) kept our iced teas full and served our food quickly while it was still hot, fresh and yummy. I’d definitely recommend Luo’s if you’re in the area with a yen for Chinese.

Best Chinese food in southern Utah. Portions were large and actually legit and not fake Chinese. Service was not the best but decent enough. In reality when you’re on the road your options are limited but sometimes places like this help you go on. I got the generals chicken combo and it was better than most Chinese chicken I’ve had

This is the only Chinese restaurant you can find in 500 miles around the East Zion. As tourist, I was expecting some typical American style Chinese food, but our family was delighted with a quite traditional delicious Chinese food. They really have a good chief. They also have some Chinese vegetables you normally won’t see in the grocery stores, and they order and ship these Chinese vegetables all way from Las Vegas weekly. Strong recommended!
