Janey Weldon Kanter, LMT

I am accostomed to and was seeking deep tissue massage. I was dissapointed with my massage as it was much to light for my preference. The reviews here were so good and she lists herself as a Licensed Massage Therapist so I assumed she coulde handle my needs. She confirmed that she did deep tissue but its a subjective question and she didn’t use standard therapeutic techniques as I have experienced them. I’ve now learned with Unilocal that I need to communicate my needs assertively and be willingly to walk out if its not going well. I knew in 5 mins that it wasn’t going to work for me. Janey is a nice lady with awesome energy but I didn’t get what I was looking for.

Janey was a delightful surprise! After looking at how much the massages would be at the St. Regis and the Westin, my husband started scouting massage therapists in the area and found Janey. It was my birthday, and it was short notice, but Janey accommodated me the same day. She does her massage at her home that is intrenched in amazing trees and a view of the ocean from her balcony. During the 90 minute massage it started raining. You don’t get this kind of atmosphere at a spa. The rain made my massage all that more wonderful (I was covered by her patio, so you won’t get wet if this happens to you). She paid specific attention to the areas I needed help with and when I left, I felt like a million bucks! Don’t go to a spa, go to Janey! Very relaxing, wonderful, positive experience. Thanks!

Every time I am on vacation in Kauai, I get a massage from Janey. She is an amazing healer, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I have never experienced a better massage. In addition, the price is very reasonable, and the location is gorgeous! Being on a screened porch that looks out onto the trees and down to the ocean is indeed paradise. She also has a BioMat for those who want to experience the healing properties of Far-​Infrared. (If you haven’t heard of these mats, there’s lots of information on the internet.) Looking forward to my next visit!

Highly recommend as an alternative to the big resort spa experience. Off the beaten track location near Anini Beach. Janey is warm, welcoming, experienced… you’re in very good hands.

I get a massage from Janey every time I visit the island. I don’t even know what style she practices, but it’s 1.5 hours of wonderfulness… the best massages I’ve ever had. The last time, she knew that my shoulder was giving me issues without me even mentioning it… she has an amazing, intuitive sense of both my physical and mental needs.

After visiting spas and masseuses across the globe, I can honestly say that Janey is the best. She offers massages out of a studio on her property and the setting is amongst the lush green palms of the valley. I have gotten hour and a half massages from her on a couple different occasions and each time exceeded my expectations. Her prices are reasonable as well. Beyond that, she is very nice and personable. I very highly recommend her to anyone in need of a massage or relaxation.
