TCBC will undoubtedly succeed based on their great food. The beer is a solid 8⁄10 with my preference being the P51 Porter. Many ciders and lighter lagers are nice. The food is gourmet quality and I have tried about half the menu now in 3 trips. I would say the ambience is nice but a little café/dinerish which does not quite fit the food. Seating is a bit cramped. On a slightly negative note, I saw very few smiles on the faces of the staff though the service was way above average. It’s a little pricey so this won’t be a regular stop but certainly is worth a trip.

Ehh we’ve been here a couple times but it seems like everything was a little off tonight. Take a look at the salmon special(sashimi grade), pork(a little too pink) and a salad with only a garish green. Hopefully the pictures come through.

Fun place with fun unusual food. My husband loved his ousco bucco and I had a very good pulled pork pizza. The pizza is very rich and heavy. I could only eat two slices of it. This place is very small so go at an off time. We went at 9 and had no problems getting a table.

Because of the hours for this place, it took a while to get there. There is little space to hang out if you’re waiting for a table and the bar area is remarkably small. Service was good. The beers were good but not particularly memorable. The wings were good and the mushroom pizza was very good. The burger, although ordered medium, arrived well done. The taste of the fuel overpowered all other tastes on what could have been a good burger.

Incredible local food and crafted brews. Friendly, knowledgable staff. The Cherry Cider is terrific as is the buffalo burger. Definitely going back!

Well priced, fantastic beer, and great service. I did not get a chance to try the food, but I will definitely be back again. They even do growlers and bottles to go!

Started off with a glass of dry apple cider. Having never had hard cider it was truly something different. I’ll compare it to kind of like a Manhattan cocktail… if you’ve never had one the first one may be stiff but anything after that goes down like cool aid. I’d recommend that if you never have had hard cider, order the three 5 oz. glasses sampler to try the different types.
For our meal, I started with the iceberg lettuce wedge salad $ 11.00 Pricey for«a wedge» but the Maytag blue cheese dressing makes it really REALLYGOOD! I think the house salad was $ 6.00. Kelsey ordered the«cowboy pork chop — $ 21.00 After her first couple bites she whispered — „Even the fat taste good!“ She later said: I”d order that again». In fact she took half of it home and finished it the following night. Note — «Cowboy» implies large! I had the ample as well — fried catfish dinner with a type of leafy greens I’ve never had(I ate them and they were great) butter beans, grits and fried green tomato. $ 24.00. For desert, we ordered and split the red velvet cheese/cake, rich and special… we took half of that home also. The Chef came by and checked our satisfaction twice during our stay. Celebrating a special occasion on an early Thursday evening we decided to finally try TCBC and were pleased we had. Leaving our table by 6:00 that evening the seating was about 40% occupied. Our total bill for the two of us before tip was $ 84.00 …Pretty high for tables without tablecloths and wait staff wearing jeans behind their aprons but our two meals put out by Chef Jerry and his team made us want to go back soon.

LOVE the food. Ok with the brews, Hate that they are not open when they say they are, 2 Times I have gone there during regular posted hours, and they are not open. Very inconsistent. Post your hours and stick to them.

We eat here frequently and everything we’ve had was phenomenal. We tend to order whatever is on the special. Any scallop or fish dish will not disappoint. They also have great vegetarian specials. By far my favorite restaurant in the Kalamazoo area.

Chef Hicks outdid himself with some of the most delicious and beautiful presentations that I have ever experienced! With his formal training in Manhattan and with loads of experience and schooling in North Carolina, Louisiana, New York and Alaska he brings the Texas Taverns Brewing Company to the finest levels for eatery in Kalamazoo. He has a great Sous Chef in Tim Kelly and has assembled a traditional professional kitchen staff of motivate and true fine food believers who are focused on turning the freshest ingredients into the finest tasting food that is then beautifully presented. Chef Hicks menu changes every two weeks and he is dedicated to obtaining the finest ingredients from the local area and from the select sources that he has cultivated through the years from as far afield as Alaska, Hawaii and South America. All flown in fresh. Everything that comes from his kitchen is made from scratch! On my visit I enjoyed crawfish and creamy grits that melted in my mouth. Although his entrees are spectacular, the side dishes are always just as rewarding. The Southern Pork Rinds are served hot and the North Carolina Pulled Pork was oh so tender. The Black Pepper Southern biscuits with a very special sauce just was just so flavorful. Being original from North Carolina and getting his start early in life in his mother’s kitchen he leans heavily towards a Southern twist to his creations. My goodness the bread pudding was so warm and comfortable as well. The restaurant brew pub is in a 100 year old former church that took two years to renovate and is owned by the local Schultz family which has a local farm stand and specializes in Hard Cider drinks. Of all the brew pubs in Kalamazoo, Texas Corners Brewing Company has by far the very best kitchen.

We stopped in last Saturday afternoon and, sadly, were disappointed after our first visit in September left us so pleasantly surprised. First, the good. The smoked wings still rock, especially with the cherry bbq sauce. Don’t miss this appetizer. However, here’s where things went south on this visit. My wife ordered the scallops — three medium-sized ones offered as a special — on a bed of risotto. The scallops actually were quite good(perhaps a little over-seasoned) but the risotto was lumpy and nondescript. The real kicker was the price: $ 30. There are much, much better scallops to be had at other Kalamazoo restaurants on the pedestrian mall for about half the price. The green tomatoes appetizer was ok. Actually, the breading was too heavy but the hearty slices and generous portions of tart, perfectly cooked tomatoes redeemed the dish. What made this appetizer all the more puzzling is that when my son received his fried catfish sandwich, it came with a delightful, light breading. Advice to kitchen: THIS is the breading to use on the green tomatoes. Next, the mushroom herb pizza was not good. The garlic overpowered everything and the mounds of cheese(at least three times too much) were not evenly distributed and really disappointed. The crust was bland and limp(despite parts of it having the appropriate charring). We left half of it on the table. We may try Texas Corners again but, frankly, Kalamazoo has too many other exciting food destinations to try(or to try again) before heading back here.

We just had dinner tonight at Texas corners brewing company. I ordered the American cheeseburger cooked to medium. It came to me rare. The waitress apologized and took the burger back. However it took at least 10 minutes before my burger returned, and as it turned out, it was still under-cooked. It was a long conspicuous wait while my wife ate her dinner. A small token to ease the inconvenience while I waited would have gone a long way to making the experience less disappointing. If this establishment intends to keep my business, they need to consider some higher level customer services. Went back for dinner tonight. The service was much improved. My wife’s burger was a little under done, but was immediately handled by the staff. We were impressed by the quality of the food and the service. We will be back!

I ordered the ribs thinking this would be a good option. OMG! Bad choice… they were cool, dry, and the sauce seemed like house made but in a hurry just to give us something. Not tasty and pricey. I guess we are not coming back… PS: BTW… desert is great!

I wanted to give it 3 stars, but that seemed too harsh. The food was fine(nothing absolutely outstanding, but fine), the outdoor dining was nice, and our server was good. That being said, we placed our order, and still didn’t have food after an hour. Finally the manager came over to tell us that there was a wifi issue with their printer, so the kitchen wasn’t getting any of the patio orders. He offered to get us drinks(we were drinking water), and then asked us if we needed anything else. Well, yes… FOOD. But since that wasn’t an option, and there was nothing else to be done, I guess I figured there should be an offer to compensate for the ridiculous wait as a small reduction of our bill or something. Just an «I’m sorry» doesn’t make up for an hour-plus wait. Wasn’t thrilled with how the situation was handled, but assuming it’s an isolated incident, didn’t want to dock them more stars. So, all in all, food was fine but didn’t really warrant all 5 stars.

In a city that has so many great restaurants it isn’t every day that a gem like Texas Corners Brewing Company pops up. I’ve been here twice now and have been both impressed and satisfied both times. The first time we went for drinks and dessert but the second time we went for dinner. TBC brews their own hard cider and beer. The cider was really good as was the beer. I’d definitely go back just for drinks. For dinner I had the NC pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the catfish tacos. The pulled pork had an intense smoky flavor but it worked. It was also a bit greasy for my taste but overall it was a really good sandwich. My wife said the catfish tacos were just OK. She said it needed a sauce to pull the taco together and was lacking a side dish.

What a nice experience! The ambience is great, unlike anything in Kalamazoo. My IPA was delish, and my husband enjoyed his porter. BTW they fill the pint to the top! My new pet peeve is the two finger rule where they leave room for the foam.(Millenium Group restaurants) Texas Corners Brewing fills to the top. My husband had the short ribs, which were very good. But a little high priced for what you get and how much short ribs cost to make. It was the perfect proportion, but priced a little high. My pulled pork sandwich with the southern potato salad was perfection. We will definitely be back. And I need to do a shout out to Emily for the wonderful service. And Andrew, the manager(hottie) for the attention to the entire restaurant

We came for the beer, but left talking about the food! The beer was excellent(&3 ciders), don’t get me wrong, but the Schultz’s did not want to just entertain with beer. The food is excellent on all fronts; presentation, selection, and homemade desserts. For a starter we had the fried green tomatoes, it came with a sauce that was unique and very complimenting. Other starters to mention are prawns and bone marrow. A couple tables next to us got those dishes and they looked amazing. The main dishes included unique pizzas, wild pole caught salmon, giant fish tacos and herb seared scallops to name a few. They even have a smoker for the ribs, pulled pork, beef tips, etc. Unbelievable food spread, unbelievable execution on the dishes. Very nice TCBC! As for the beverages they had:(3) ciders(dry, sweet & cherry; cherry was my favorite), American Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Porter with house roasted cocoa nibs, Belgian Orange Wheat(my favorite) and a pre-prohibition style lager(excellent). We went ahead and did a flight with ‘everything’ :-) Not even kidding, we came for the beer and to also grab a bite; we left relishing about the food. I can’t wait to go back.

Stopped by tonight, 25 minute wait, totally worth it. We had an awesome corner table with Travis as our server. He was great. Very knowledgable about the menu, full of recommendations. The bison burger was perfectly charred with a nice pink center, the red potato salad was great. Highly recommend the asparagus pizza. Cherry cider was really amazing. It is a little bright, but being for a Saturday night, it wasn’t as loud as what other reviewers mentioned. It’s not the cheapest place for beer and dinner, but we’d go back.
