Shawarma House

Don’t feel too bad if you missed Shawarma House … it’s almost funny how very hidden this place is. It’s in the same building as Campus Kitchen, tucked behind The Spirit Shoppe, across Howard from Video Hits Plus. Their sign is visible from Howard, but the storefront is not (you need to drive around back).
Once you find the place, you’re set. This is a friendly little mom-​and-​pop, in the same family as the folks who run Shawarma King on Drake. The menu, quality, and prices are very much the same as Shawarma King on Drake, which is a good thing.
I’ve been here maybe a dozen times, and I’ve never been disappointed. It’s closer to me than any of the other Lebanese takeout places in town, so it’s my new go-​to spot for hummus (a staple in my fridge).
The staff are very friendly, and they seem proud of the international currency collection taped to the wall behind the counter. It’s actually pretty impressive.
If you’re heading from downtown to Shawarma King on Drake but want a change of scenery, consider stopping at Shawarma House instead.
