Kailua Massage Therapy

My wife and I have been using this service regularly for about three years, and have always had great massages. I’m not sure that we could have maintained our active lifestyle without them! In particular, Mary has great «hands», and always seems to find the sore spots. She is a very knowledgeable and experienced masseuse, and often teaches classes on her practice.

Thanks for all the great reviews of this place. I had an appointment w Mary a few weeks ago and she exceeded my expectations! Making the appointment was smooth, finding the place and parking was easy. The massage was relaxing. My usual masseuse was on the main land and I’m glad I checked this place out!

Just had a 60 minute massage with Nancy. She is wonderful. Just her demeanor alone is very calming. The pressure she used was not too hard and not too soft; a very intuitive massage therapist. As a 8 year massage veteran, I highly recommend her.

This was my wife and my second time in a month long vacation to visit Kailua Massage therapy. The first time I had Kyra work on me for 90 min. It was great. The second time I had Joe (co-​owner) work on me. I like a firm massage, Joe is the best massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure to work on me. He is spot on. Very intuitive, I wished he lived in Alaska, I would see him every week!!! And I want to thank you Joe again for your 20 plus years of military service. We need more good eggs like you. My wife had 90 min. with Mary (the other co-​owner) and let me tell you my wife is very fussy about the massage she gets. Mary did a fantastic massage on her, she even came in on her day off to do her. Thank you Mary and Joe ! In a nutshell Kailua Massage Therapy is the Best, most reasonable priced massage therapy we have ever experienced. And I have had hundreds due to spinal injuries. Thank you both, when we come back we will see you more.

I came here last weekend on recommendation of my hubs. He made an appt for me to see Lume, and promised she had magical hands to help me relax and get all my knots out.
Making the appt was easy, and finding the location was too. Lume was ready when I arrived and got immediately to work. Soooo… I don’t know if I am just SO knotty, that anyone trying to rub my muscles would have hurt, or that’s just Lume, but this wasn’t a great massage. It felt clinical, I like a more intuitive massage; someone who feels my back, locates the trouble areas, and then works them. This just felt like going through the motions of training and it wasn’t really even. The worst part was the head massage when it just felt like my hair was being ripped out.
Lume, however, is very kind and lovely. I think the issue was just we’re not a match when it comes to her style and what type of massage I prefer. I wouldn’t say don’t go to her, perhaps her style is your cup of tea.

Awesome place! I had Joe for a 60 minute massage and he is so friendly and a great massage therapist. Knows what he is doing and can give a great massage. Just what I was looking for. I went with a friend who had Holly as her massage therapist and she was great also. Two thumbs up, five stars, try this place! I’m definitely going back for a longer session ASAP.

I love this place! I grew up in Kailua but now live on the mainland. I make an appointment here whenever I visit my family — at least once a year. I normally see Mary. She is amazing. However, the last time I went, she was booked. So, I saw Joe. He using a different technique than Mary, but is also amazing! It is wonderful to get all of the kinks and stress worked out. I have chronic back issues, but Kailua Massage Therapy makes them go away. I wish I could bring them home with me! They are better than most massage places. Mary and Joe are truly talented and gifted. You’ll be so glad you chose them.

Mary is a wonderful massage therapist. She is caring and knows how to make you feel so much better after her session. She is helping my husband and I get back to good health!

MARY is AMAZING! My upper back was in so much pain before I came in, and she knew just exactly where to touch. She focused on exactly what I requested and needed! Soooo satisfied. Will be making this a monthly routine.

I just want to say thank you to all you Unilocalers that wrote about this amazing little spot in Kailua.
I’ve been having neck, shoulder, and headaches for the last 3 – 4 month and I went to see my Dr. on 2 different occasions. I was given muscle relaxers, and narcotics to deal with the pain. Unfortunately my body doesn’t respond well to these types of medication (nausea) etc. Plus! I don’t want to be on meds and unable to function…
I found Kailua Massage Therapy on Unilocal and read awesome reviews and the common name that I saw was MARY. So I booked an appointment.
She is amazing! I got a 1 hour massage for $ 65.00, TOTALLY worth it. I told her the issues that I was having and she went right to work and it was like my muscles were talking to her because she knew exactly where to apply pressure or back up on pressure. I walked out of there sooooooooooo much more flexible and TIRED. I went straight home and took the best 3 hour nap I’ve had in months.
I recommend her completely! According to other Unilocalers there are other amazing Therapists there, but I can’t speak on them, I can only assume that they are great too.
I plan to see MARY 1 – 2 times a month more if I can swing it. She spoke just the right amount and I felt completely relaxed there. Seriously one of the best massages I’ve had in years! MARY is just amazing!
Business info: The office is located in the same building as Assagios, on the 1^st floor. There is street metered parking. The massage table and office was clean and calming. I’m hooked and so happy that my fellow Unilocalers shared such an amazing gem.

Very good massage. Joe was very knowledgeable about the body and was practiced in bodywork. He shared his training of kinesiotex as well. Challenging to book on line but a wonderful soul.

Thank goodness for Mary’s magic hands! We’re it not for her, I would have had knots on knots on KNOTS during my stay on Oahu. But because of Mary, that was not the case. She even helped my boyfriend (who had Megan give him a massage, which he loved!) and I find awesome hikes and places to eat while we were in the area! My back has always had issues, and my shoulders have been tight for years, as I used to swim in high school, and Mary worked magic with her hands. She is truly amazing! You’d be lucky to have her.

Mary gives her whole self to a customer. She has an intuitive sense about what is hurting you and where you just want a little love. She always tells me that my body speaks to her. After 15 years of going to her, I know its true.
And… OMG… her foot/​calf massage … OMG…
I’ll admit, I dabble with other therapists… but just because I like to try new things. I always come back to Mary. She’s THAT good.

FABULOUS EVERY TIME!
Yesterday during paddling practice, my shoulder was in so much pain I was almost in tears! I have a race coming up next weekend and wanted to be sure I was in top shape. I hadn’t been to see Kristen Chir Ramback at Kailua Massage Therapy in a while but thought I would give her a call. I knew if anyone could help me it would be her! Thank God that there was a last minute cancellation and she was able to get me in the very next morning.
The room is so relaxing I immediately felt relieved to just be there. Once she started working on my shoulder I realized how much I missed getting regular massages from Krissy! With one kid in college and one at Punahou, something has to give and unfortunately taking care of me often takes a back seat!
I love deep-​tissue and Krissy applies the perfect amount of pressure, never too much! She has very soothing and healing hands, I feel as if she is actually removing all the «ick» that the stresses of everyday life (and paddling) leave behind. She flows through the massage seamlessly and I always feel like the time flies by. Because my shoulders were bothering me she spent extra time on them and even relieved the tension down my arms, wrists and hands which was heavenly! She was so helpful in working out my shoulders that I am already feeling better this afternoon!
If you are looking for a massage, call and ask for Krissy, you will be very happy! If you have the time, book the 90 min massage, it goes by too fast! It is very reasonably priced as well.

The best massage in Kailua, Had a 1 hr massage from Mary. Wonderful firm hands to work my back muscles, the pricing was good. 1hr massage-​$ 60.

Amazing! I have had my share of massages (Kahala Hotel and various other therapists) and this was by far the best massage I have ever had. I actually wish I would’ve found her sooner.
I went because I had a gift card, coincidently, I slipped and fell on slippery cement at a beach shower, the day prior to my appointment. My body was in a lot of pain. She gave the best, neck, shoulder, arms, hand and feet massage and I left feeling so much better.
Hands down, best massage I’ve ever had and will defenetly will be my new massage therapist

My husband was kind enough to surprise me with an at home massage by Mary after an extremely stressful professional test. As a physical therapist, it was clear she knew what she was doing whereas I have been to others on island who seemed to have only a cursory awareness of the body. Her techniques were exceptional and she was able to release tension to the degree that I had increased sensation in the ulnar nerve distribution on my right side. Needless to say, that had never happened before. Additionally, she contributed to a greater body awareness of my over-​worked and over-​stressed areas. Her rate is comparable to others but her technique and skills are miles above the rest. I will be recommending her to both my own patients and my friends and look forward to my own return.

Are you kidding me, Unilocalers? Seriously? OK, the selfish wench in me chortles with glee when I see my Unilocaling tribe has not yet stumbled upon this fabulous place. I am trying to be mindful of my inherent wickedness so as to be true to the spirit of the season: if you are in pain… any pain… or are wrecked… come see Krissy. She is amazing. Truly amazing.
I came here through a referral from my Occupational Therapist at Straub who was working on rehabbing my shoulder after surgery. I wanted to get back into the canoe, and I knew I had to work really hard to do it… Krissy was a key piece of the treatment plan. She kept me together, working out the kinks in muscles I didn’t know I had (just how many muscles does it take to paddle?) over a difficult year.
She is reasonable (or the cost of her services), pleasant and super smart… she has trained under amazing kumu, and that comes across when she is working your muscles out. She is strong (i like my massages deep tissue.) but has never bruised me or made me ache in different places (Ho’onani Spa… that is NOT the place to get a massage) and I have never felt that slight nausea one can experience after deep tissue massages, with her. Best of all, there is no creepiness, or chattiness or random weirdness… and she doesn’t even laugh when I unintentially fall asleep and snort (at least I don’t fart…)!
She is amazing technically and she is amazing spiritually… ok bear with me here, i know this sounds new agey and I am SO not… something about picking your massage guy/gal…you don’t want their drama and spooge to stick to you… you want them to be strong and clear of mind and soul because you are in such a vulnerable position… she is that person… she is super cool and totally talented.
and I beg of you Unilocalers. please…make sure you save room on her calendar for me!
