Without a doubt the best massage of my life… It’s been many years since I felt so relaxed.

Fabulous hour and half massage (and I’m very picky!!) in gorgeous setting. Heather is intuitive and extraordinarily skilled. Highly recommended.

For starters … Heather’s property is magical and close enough to Kealakekua Bay that one could enjoy a morning swimming with dolphins before their session. Something about being there relaxes me all by itself. It is a space deeply conducive to healing.
Heather was amazing in her session. It’s clear that she brings a great deal of experience with her to the table and I was appreciative of that in and beyond my session.
At the beginning, I didn’t know what to expect and then as the session progressed, I could feel a sense of ease and a nice warmth spreading through my body until I heard something strange… wait a second?! (I asked my self from inside) Am I snoring ??? I felt much lighter when I got up and the calm I felt from this session stayed with me for a while. Two thumbs up !

Heather’s touch brings with it years of training and experience in a range of practices that provides a unique and special depth to her massage. More So, her hands feel like they are somehow communicating with and responding to my body on a silent level. When I am on Big Island I plan the rest of my time around my appointments with Heather. Her massage is not to be missed!

Serene location on Heather’s property, the massage was very relaxing with some great focused deep tissue work mixed in. She has a special touch and a unique style for a very reasonable price. I’ll definitely see her again on my next visit.

I am going to try to write a short review even though my flow of consciousness is screaming continue until you are complete as Heather deserves the praise. However, brevity trumps as it increases the likelihood of a read by stressed out massage aficionados. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Heather on a vacation to the Big Island. I was there for two weeks. Before I continue I should say that I consider myself an expert in evaluating masseuses since I get two massages a week and I have been doing this for the last five years.
In simple terms I will never again get a Swedish massage which I learned from my massage with Heather is nothing more than moving some muscles around, stopping, finding another group of muscles, moving them around, in a systematic sequence of massage movements. Then there is Heather. Wow. She gets it. First of all she almost immediately figures out in an intuitive way with the first few gentle brushes on your body what you need. It is uncanny. Then, having zeroed in on your needs she generates long loving strokes never disconnecting to your body but continuing in a constant stream of perfectly timed and essence needed massage strokes. Her empathic abilities are off the charts. There is no question in my mind that Heather is a loving nurturing soul who is absolutely in touch with your needs and deliveres accordingly. In a blasphemous way at one point I opened my eyes and saw that she was totally absorbed in delivering to me the best massage she was capable of giving and was not even aware of my voyeurism.
Before I left I signed up for a two hour massage. Ouch. It was so good. We parted on bad terms since she told me in no uncertain terms she was not going to move to Tucson to take care of my massage needs.
Almost done. She knows what I need in a masseuse and since I left the Big Island she has updated me on people she has found in my location that my fit my need.
In a nutshell, she is the best masseuse I have ever had and I love her. I met her husband and my chances of pursuing this dream are nil. I am 64 and out of shape. He is young, in good shape an handsome. Such is life.

Best massage experience ever. My husband and I came last year on our honeymoon. We did the 30 minute hot tub and 90 minute couples massage. The site is very secluded down a crazy steep road with beautiful views of the ocean. Make sure you have gas before heading down and leave yourself extra time to get there.
When we found the spot there was a kitty to greet us. We love kitties so we were already happy to be there. We were officially greeted and taken to the hot tub which was nice and secluded. We were the only customers there as they serve only one client at a time, at least I think so. They did a good job of making us feel comfortable.
We went at dusk which was perfect. We had a golden glow of sunlight during the hot tub. It also had lit candles all around.
After the hot tub we were led to the cabana for the massages. The kitty followed us over to check it out. The cabana was lit with white string lights and draped with flowing sheer curtains. There were two massage tables waiting for us. After we laid on the table the ladies told us what to expect and asked about preferences. They knew exactly what to say and ask. It was very comfortable.
One of the best parts of the experience was the toasted coconut oil they used. It smelled delicious and afterward we smelled like dessert, yum! I waaannnttt that oil. The actual massages were great. They worked every inch even our cheeks and eyebrows. The pressure was deep but not too hard. Amazing! When we were done they let us lie on the tables as long as we wanted. The whole experience was magical.
There was only one flaw. The bathroom is inside their home which sort of kills the magic. So just go to the bathroom first and then you can begin your experience.
I want to go back to the Big Island just to do this again. Once in a lifetime experience

After reading the previous reviews about Heather I felt my trip to the Big Island would be incomplete without a massage from her. We made contact, arranged a time and I drove down to Capt. Cook. Heather warmly greeted me like an old friend even through we had just met. Her massage tent is very private but open with gentle breezes from the trade winds. Heather asked questions to determine what my favorite likes are in a massage and what problem areas my body was telling me needed attention. For the next 90 minutes I was treated to Heather’s incredible touches as she worked over my body. Her hands are firm and strong, yet gentle when needed. She has the ability to apply tremendous pressure if required. By her knowledge and touch Heather found several areas of my body which needed special care. I had two experienced massage therapists the two previous weeks who had not found these problem areas. Heather worked those areas getting my muscles back in shape. I’m some what a a massage junkie so I know what a good massage is. My entire experience with Heather and her massage was incredible. I can truly say it is the best I have ever had. It was such an experience I booked another massage 5 days later. My second massage from Heather was every bit as good as the first. My only wish is that I lived on the Big Island so I could get regular massages from her.

I recently had the best massage of my entire life with Heather!
Her space is incredible… a peaceful sanctuary on a beautiful organic farm just minutes from the ocean.
The massage area is open aired, yet screened, allowing you to hear the birds and smell the tropical foliage which surrounds you. It’s paradise!
Before the massage, Heather made sure to ask me a few important questions such as if my body was in pain and where and what level of pressure I desired. She was completely professional yet warm, making me feel relaxed and comfortable with her right away!
Once the massage began, I could feel immediately how in tune to my body Heather was. She intuitively knew how much pressure to apply and where to make me feel I had drifted away on a cloud! I have never experienced such a profound sense of peace and relaxation in my life. I almost fell asleep! At the same time, I felt I was receiving a tension melting deep tissue therapeutic massage!
My massage experience with Heather at the Tao Within was so nurturing and relaxing, I am already looking forward to the next one!
I cannot recommend Heather’s massage services highly enough! She is an amazingly gifted therapist and I feel so lucky to have found her!

Heather has an amazing gift for massage therapy, and a beautiful/​warm energy that you feel from the first second you meet her. I had a tub soak and shower prior to massage (definitely worth asking about) it was this gorgeous outdoor area– completely surrounded by nature. You feel very comfortable and safe from the moment you’re there. The massage was outstanding, it was in this outdoor tent. The smell of fresh flowers, the sound of music and birds, and the healing touch of Heather made this morning one of the best i’ve had in a long time. Also the price was very reasonable. Simply, Amazing.

Heather is one of the most beautiful, kind-​hearted people I’ve ever met. I was lucky enough to be gifted with a massage from her on my 40^th birthday. At the time, I’d recently had another massage at Harbin Hot Springs, and I remember that all I kept thinking the whole time Heather was massaging me was, «this is SO much better!» The amount of pressure she used was just right – both strong and soothing at the same time. She definitely has a very intuitive sense as well as studied expertise. She surrounds herself with gentle beauty that is calming and spiritually freeing to whomever comes into her atmosphere. She is a caring and supportive healer. I highly recommend Heather and only wish that I were on the Big Island and able to get a massage from her more often!

While visiting Kona recently I decided to treat myself to a massage from Heather. It was a wonderful value, exceptional massage.
The space from which Heather operates is beautiful, calming and serene. Heather took the time to connect with me before the massage, carefully discussing all of my body working needs and even music preferences. All of her attention to detail beforehand carried throughout the entire experience making it the best massage I have ever had. Heather works with the perfect amount of pressure. I never felt the need to ask for more or less pressure as I normally do because it was all so wonderful.
Later I discovered that she also specializes in Chi Nei Tsang massage, giving me yet another reason to return during my next trip to the big island. Pure delight!

Have you ever felt a true peace and contentment in life? I have and was blessed enough to be with these feelings post massage with Heather! I’ve received enough massages in my life to differentiate the intuitively talented and those that may need a few more hours under their belt. Heather is definitely the former and then some! Plus… she does Esalen method (a real treat if you’ve never experienced it)! From the moment I walked through her doors… I just felt the tension melt away. Her décor and ambiance was gorgeous and very Zen, matching the incredible design to her abode. I opted for a tub soak prior to massage, in which she already drew for me before arriving. As I walked upstairs to the tub… I was greeted by an absolutely stunning view of the ocean and their land. She showed me around the area and pointed out a few of the niceties she left out: towels, a glass of water, Angel Cards, etc. I appreciated her awareness and ability to allow each person to feel completely welcome, safe and that she thought of all the ways she might be able to meet your needs. As she wandered down the stairs to have my have my space and soak, stretch and enjoy before my massage, she offered to turn on music if I so chose. I did… and it was lovely! During my massage I kept reveling in just how amazing her hands felt. I can only describe them as buttery strong dough. Strong enough to work out the needed knots and hands smooth as a baby’s skin to calm the spirit. The next hour and a half can only be described as utter bliss. I truly can’t express enough about the wonderful experience as a whole and just how blessed the islands are to have such a wonderful massage therapist and being, whose beauty shone inside and out. Had the most excellent time with Heather. Her expertise and talents are evident in every touch. It was a very comfortable atmosphere and very relaxing. She used many different techniques and was able to vary pressures and it was the best ever. Mahalo Heather!

Outstanding massages at a reasonable price. Hard to beat.
Heather came to our house near Kailua and gave three of us 90 minute massages. We had her back the following day for the other members of our group because of our rave reviews. She did not disappoint. My wife is pregnant and she is trained to give prenatal massages, which was a bonus.
If you are on the Big Island and looking for a fantastic massage at your location that is spa (or better) quality, you won’t go wrong with The Tao Within. Highly recommend.
