Extremely frustrated by my experience here. Despite a good selection both of the associates/owner were falling over themselves to help someone who had made it clear that she was not making a purchase. On the other hand I am kamaaina and was holding a $ 200 pair of sandals that I wanted to purchase. I could not even get a hello from them. I have been driving to Waikoloa for my shoes but would have loved to found something closer to home. I left without sandals and will not return. Definitely would not recommend

What a joke! Owner complains to me about a New Jersey Lady from yesterday and he told her off then I am sympathetic as I look for what I need and drove a ways to get there… Only to have him disappear during my ‘shoe hunt’ for 15 minutes. Mind you, I had just told him I didn’t really want to spend 120.00 on flip flops(slippers) maybe this is why he left? I ask a question like… Are these tennis shoes …: to his new hire and she says GOASKHIMHEHELPINGYOU! Yum mm I would if he were in the store??? Bad day??? I’m thinking But then after I decide to get them I wait another ten to check out because he is eating lunch and she looks like she hates her job and wants to shoot me! I tell him what she said finally while paying and by the way they offer Kamaina discount but don’t actually give it, anyways his excuse to her abrupt attitude and unwillingness to assist me with a product name was, «She is new she’s only been here 12 weeks and there’s a LOT to learn!» Well then DON’T DISAPPEARDUDE! paying for his takeout out of the back register I see, so unprofessional from start to finish! He preys on the tourists and I feel sorry for them not knowing any better!!!

Loved the selections of sandals that are available. Being on Kona where many people vacation, they could gouge customers. They don’t — a pair of Mephisto sandals cost $ 100 here, they cost $ 100 on the mainland, they cost $ 100 online. The woman helping us was super helpful and super patient(we tried on pairs and pairs of sandals). Fair prices, quality product and knowledgeable(and patient) sales staff make this a great place to get some sandals in Kona.

Left my rainbows at home, so I stumbled into here looking to pick up another pair — however they sadly do not carry rainbows anymore. Rather than picking up a single pair of sandals, I ended up walking out with two pairs of Havaianas. They’re no Rainbows, but they sure are comfortable and got us all over the island just fine. Never have I seen a shop dedicated to sandals. They knew what they were talking about and were real casual in regards to any sales tactics. I think they even made a joke about«high pressure sales.» Drop by, pick up a pair, it’s wall to wall sandals — literally.

I dragged my husband in here because the Island Slipper Company’s website said they carried their brand. I had bought a pair of Island Slippers on Maui but the store didn’t have the Men’s styles. We walked into Sandal Stop and the owner pointed us in the direction of Island Slipper(all made in Hawaii-and soooo comfy!). They had several Men’s and Women’s styles, and, even better, I found a pair in my husband’s size on the sale rack! The owner said it was a discontinued color and that was the last pair they had. A really nice brown color & my husband loved ‘em, so we bought them! Would definitely return if back in kona & needing a new pair of made in Hawaii Island Slipper goodness!

I stopped in here before dinner to browse around for a pair of yoga mat slippers. Circled the store three times and could not find it. Although both associates were with other customers, I didn’t receive so much of a glance, greeting, or «be right with you» so much for the aloha spirit. The prices seemed ridiculous and with the lack of customer service, what point is there to even return? Thanks for nothing.

You can buy flip flops or water shoes anywhere for 20 bucks, but if your stubborn feet like mine desperately need a pair of über-comfortable and sturdy sandals in order to walk the island without breaking an arch or pinching a toe, THIS is the place to come to! Not only that, but the patience and service of Chris and her colleagues was amazing as I tried on pair after pair after pair to try and match my squirrelly and mismatched feet. And then Eureka! Chris found me the pair of the most comfortable sturdy sandals I could’ve ever imagined, and I’m writing this while walking back to my car with a big grin on my face! Thanks Chris from Don and Kayko of San Francisco.

This store was the only bad experience I had during my trip to Hawaii. I bought a pair of sandals as a gift for my mom, and they seemed sturdy enough. The customer service at this place is mediocre, and after my mom wore the shoes for just two occasions, and the straps on both of them broke. Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, we called the store and asked for a refund. We were told in very harsh terms that there was no way we could get a refund and that our money was as good as gone. If I get another chance to revisit Hawaii, I’ll be sure to shop somewhere else for shoes.

I had to fly to Kona from Chicago, but I found the nicest people and the best pair of «slippers» flip flops I’ve ever owned. Jim was such a nice person I can’t wait to go back and buy more shoes from him or just keep his business thriving by purchasing future orders from him and maybe he’ll ship them to me. Thank you Jim! I love my new slippers!

Walking wearing flip-flops on Big Island’s reefs is not a good idea; so I bought a pair of these interestingly designed reef shoes! The reef shoes I purchased resembles my feet with toes~LOL! I love my reef shoes when I wear them at the beach because no sand can enter; snug and very comfortable, indeed. .. ^ u ^

The knowledgeable staff at this amazing store can make your stay on the Big Island a comfortable experience. Chris and her daughter are islanders with true Aloha spirit and entertaining personalities. Need a hat, flip flops, sandals, sunglasses or whatever, they carry the best quality at truly fair pricing.

Good honest people to do business with. I was there and witnessed a man come in the shop to return a pair of Vibrams that had split at the seam. The owner was happy to exchange them for a new pair, no questions asked. Good selection of footwear here. I will return for more purchases as needed in the near future.
