Yuck, me thinks not. We were really surprised with the outcome after all the 5star reviews, but our experience was a walk-out no $ spent. The fussy lady behind the counter probably should have taken the day off. She started off short and took a quick turn towards rude. They didn’t have bananas and mangos«weren’t in season» though it’s funny that you can find mangos in every market, fruit stand, and any other smoothie shop on the island that are ripe & delicious. My wife ordered first, only to be told«no, no bananas». Mom ordered next, only to be told«no mangos». With those two explanations, it pretty much meant no smoothies were available since almost every smoothie on the menu has A) bananas or B) mangos. I asked what smoothies were available– seemed fair. Answer: «everything else». So my wife tried again… and again«no bananas» even though it was the one smoothie without bananas nor mangos. Ok, ha ha lady, I actually just spotted a whole bundle of bananas behind you so jokes over please let us get some smoothies. Still nothing but an explanation about no fresh bananas in the smoothies. She told us they wait until the bananas get soggy until they use them. Yuck! Couple more of these back&forths before we decided to check out Whale of a Crêpe up the road a bit, and very VERY glad we did. Whale of a Crêpe was a much better option. Other generic neg’s: –In a parking lot –Unkept, messy, and dirty inside –No seating –Tourist churn&burn Positives: –Maybe you like soggy bananas?

Checked this spot out twice this week, and the underlying theme is to not be in a rush! They are a small spot, with 2 workers, and they take one order at a time and make it before serving the next person. So if you’re in a rush(which hopefully you aren’t if you’re on vacation), go someplace else. Our first experience was just to drop in for 2 black drip coffees; we expected to be served quickly since there’s no prep involved. But the people ahead of us were chatting with the lady behind the counter, having a grand old time, and then placed a very lengthy order after a few minutes of chit chat. It took us 10 minutes to get 2 drip coffees. We actually happened to be in a rush to get somewhere that morning, so I learned my lesson. My husband loved his Kona coffee, while I wasn’t very fond of it. Found it tasted a bit burnt. But that’s all just a matter of preference I suppose. Then I popped back in a second time and ordered their Haupia(coconut) Latte. Sounded promising and different, and I was excited! It’s actually delicious but overwhelmingly sweet. I’ll order it again, but I’ll ask for about half the sweetness. It’s hard to drink — but again, a matter of preference. I was hoping for a hint of coconut flavour, not a load of sweet syrup. I have yet to try their breakfast but they’ve got a good variety and it all looks great. There’s a picnic table outside in the parking lot that you can eat at(no indoor seating — in fact there’s barely enough room for 4 people to stand while waiting to place their order). Overall, a great spot to grab a coffee or breakfast at if you’re staying nearby & have time to wait :)

We discovered Green Flash Coffee in September while here on a house-hunting trip. So glad we did. Now that we live here, my husband and I love stopping at Green Flash for great lattes and delicious organic oatmeal. Wonderful, friendly service and the perfect way to start your day!

There is parking, even though the signs are confusing: you can park in the spots that say 15 min only. The little arbor area was cute to sit and have a cup of coffee, but beware that there are geckos and birds all around! :) This was a plus for us. We tried the coconut(haupia) latte and it was delicious. Sandwiches were good too. A good stop on the way to snorkeling!

Decent coffee for the price. They were out of Kona coffee during our visit. Staff was not friendly and acted annoyed when asked about their daily coffee specialty. Had to wait for 5 minutes while they were refilling Coke cans.

Small little shop. Lady at the register was slightly rude. But the coffee is delicious! The pricing is a little high and we had to wait a little bit but the vanilla latte and long paddle smoothie were amazing!

Great coffee and really nice folks serving you. The place is tiny and that makes it hard to sit a spell. Like everywhere in Kona it’s packed and slow. But coffee is good. I would like to drop by when it is not so busy and see is the good vibes flow.

Great little coffee shop. Best cup of Kona coffee that I found on the island. The sweet lady working the counter was helpful with every question and seemed so happy to be working there! I had the breakfast sandwich that was made with two pieces of French toast with egg, ham and cheese. It was a great breakfast. There is no seating inside, but a great«secret garden» patio.

Cute little coffee shop! To the left of the door there’s seating under a flower canopy. Definitely can see most people not looking in. The fruit and Nutella isn’t cut up fruit and Nutella but rather a banana and Nutella on a pressed toast sandwich. It looked delicious but I am allergic to wheat so sadly couldn’t eat it. My husband got the monte Christo and it came out as a pressed ham and Cheese sandwich with a side of syrup. He said it was good but definitely more of a lunch item than what he expected to receive. The coffee is good and the smoothie choices looked great.

Our go-to coffee place in Kona! The coffee is way yummy and the breakfast options are very tasty. It can get pretty busy because it’s such a popular place but with such delicious options, it’s understandable!

A great place to drop by for quick and affordable breakfast. We picked up 2 panini grilled sandwiches and an iced Haupia coffee. Monte cristo was delicious, and my croissant turkey sandwich was just perfect. Haupia coffee was delicious, but took awhile to register the coconut flavor. Parking was tough at first because the lot labeled«residence only» but turns out it’s ok to park. There is only a picnic table outside so it’s more of a to-go spot.

I stopped by here yesterday with my wife and her father for our morning coffee. This is a cute little shop with room for maybe 5 people inside and then a couple of picnic tables outside. While we were perusing the menu they let us know that their espresso machine was broken so we were unable to order any drinks using those. Due to that I went with a medium 100% Kona drip while my wife went with a small cold coffee. My father in law wanted some decaf coffee and they offered to make a pot since they didn’t have any available. My coffee ended up being rather good. I tried about a quarter of it sans cream to get the flavor of it and then added some cream. In my opinion the coffee was enhanced by the cream and had a nice rich and smooth flavor to it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I really enjoyed my coffee and hope that they have their espresso machine working the next time around.

Had to get the husband to his tee time, so we made a quick stop at Green Flash for coffees and breakfast sandwiches. Super small place, but adorable garden eating area. Coconut lattes and breakfast sandwiches were very yum. Staff was friendly. Will go back again before we leave the island.

Overpriced coffee for what you get, better off driving to McDonalds drive-thru. Young woman working counter has personality of a piece of concrete, don’t act so put out or find another job.

Ok my review is 2 years late… But I couldn’t remember the name. However, I did a little research and found them on Unilocal :-) This place is amazing! We went there 2 or 3 times because we were staying close by. The coffee cake was the best I’ve ever had! And my mom loved her salmon bagel and coffee. It’s restaurant is really tiny and cute, I don’t remember the staff but it was always really busy so we waited outside. I love the food and miss Kona. I can’t wait to go back.

No Aloha from the morning staff here! Girl behind counter was pretty snippy and unapologetic for being out of most every breakfast item on the menu However, the green machine smoothy was OUTSTANDING!

*Great place to stop for a yum yum smoothie or coffee *Their nut smoothie and the green one were great way to start the day exploring the island *Good service but a little bit of island time for sure, if more than 3 – 4 people stack up prepare for quite a wait
