Alright, so my wife’s car tire seems to be a screw magnet. After just purchasing a set of 4 tires from Firestone, about 4 months ago, she picked up another screw. Thank goodness for tire pressure sensors. Took her car down to Firestone, and they again were really helpful in repairing the tire. Thank goodness for not having to buy another tire, just gotta pay for the patch job and labor. Wait was a little long, but I guess that’s what happens when you are that good.

I made an online appointment for new break pads on my vehicle. My appointment was for noon. I called and confirmed the appointment at 9am and then drove an hour and a half to the shop. Once I arrived at the shop I was told that they couldn’t even start on my vehicle for at least 3 hours! I could now wait around for 6+ hour for my vehicle to be repaired. This seems to be the standard that this shop works by. I would not recommend this shop to anyone!

Went in for an alignment & two hours later they said they couldn’t get it done because of worn lower ball joints. So they estimated a job of $ 300 for the ball joint, prior to them being able to do the alignment. I took it to a mechanic to test the lower ball joint & they said it looked fine. Firestone just looked to make money. Take your car to Trent’s Alignment if you want someone who knows what they are doing. Super experienced, friendly, a bit pricey– but you get your money’s worth.

My check engine light came on on a Saturday afternoon, and since my regular mechanics were closed, I was calling all over Kona trying to find someone with the code reader to see what the issue was. Every place I called either said flat out they didn’t do it, I had to actually buy the code reader, or I would have to make an appointment and pay for a whole hour of labor. My last ditch phone call was to Firestone, and they were awesome. I spoke to Maria on the phone, who was super helpful and informative, and then Daniel T helped me when I got there in 2.2 seconds with no hesitations or attitude. Considering it is a free service, and there is no promise that I am going to have any work done there, he couldn’t have been more helpful, going above and beyond.

Bought 4 new tires and had them mounted. Even paid for the extra warranty. Three days after I bought them 2 of the tires were leaking. The tires that I had replaced didn’t leak. I went back to Firestone and was told that they were leaking because my rims were old and that to clean them with a wire brush would cost extra! So, I just spent almost $ 500 for new tires that don’t hold air. When I told the employee that my mechanic says that cleaning with a wire brush should be included in the mounting charge, I was told that it’s not at Firestone. I then told him that my mechanic suggested that I leave and take my business elsewhere. His response was, «Ok.» Thanks Firestone. I’d used you in the past for maintenance, but I’ll NEVER use you again. And I will be telling everyone I know to avoid you. No Aloha here.

Went in on Sunday morning with a nail in a tire. They removed the nail but, because of how they removed it the tire was ruined. They immediately admitted their mistake –without my having to ask-and gave me a replacement tire at no cost. Honesty and integrity. I will give them my business in the future.
