The folks at Ohana Drapery & Upholstery did a fantastic job on a couch. I really would recommend them to anyone. Great selection of fabrics and quick turnaround. Mary is great and knowledgeable. Price was reasonable and I will be doing the matching chairs soon for the dinette table.

Overview: Product: Just OK, Service: Less than OK. Details: Product: On the one hand, they only charged me $ 50 labor(I spent $ 30 on the materials) to sew up a carrying case for my earring board. The canvas shop in Kahului quoted me $ 375 for the same job and the auto upholstery place quoted me $ 120. So, best price for sure, but would I have gotten a better product elsewhere? Perhaps. The bag I ended up with works, but is a little large and sloppy. The bottom edge is longer than the top, leaving some room inside the bag for the board to slide around. The handle was not done to my request, there is too much length there. I asked that it be just above the top of the bag, so I wouldn’t have to lift my arm too high when carrying it. There is almost 9″ in between the top of the bag and the handle, which means I have to lift my arm quite high to keep the board from hitting the ground. The job was cheap, which was good, but cheaply done. Service: I understand the cost of doing business. As a merchant who accepts credit cards myself, I choose to absorb the credit card fees should a client choose to pay with a card. That is the choice that most merchants make. Sometimes a merchant chooses to make the customer pay the credit card fee. Less acceptable, but understandable. To want to charge me more than the credit card processing fee to use my credit card, like these people wanted, is absolutely usurious, and pathetically lame. I went out of my way to go and cash to avoid being raped. The only reason this business gets two stars instead of one is because the product does marginally work.

Someone from work directed me here to get reupholstered sofas… Sadly to say there was none. I did get the going rate on reupholstering a sofa though. About $ 500 bucks labor plus price of material. Seems like you can buy a new one at your local furniture for about the same price after you add in the fabric. Unless you bring in an awesome vintage piece, it just doesn’t pay to recycle for some reason in Maui.
