This place is the where to go taco/Mexican place to go, for reals! I mean it!!! We just moved from California, we have chipotle, and taco trucks in every corner, we’ve been trying some places around the Kahului area, and -.-”, maybe we are Lind Of picky(yes, again, we are coming from California haha) but so far, this will be our first option from now on, my bf likes the onions/carrots at the salsa bar, I liked the red sauce(I think it can be a little bit more spicier, but it’s fine xD) . Ok, so… What at you waiting for? Go to Maui Tacos! XD. P.S: I got the Lahaina burrito and my bf got the potato chimichanga…(He says it will be better with steak) P. s.#2 they didn’t have the banana something something(dessert) yeah… We are fans on good desserts too haha Ok! You are welcome! aloha!

They have good fish taco, but I can’t wait 27 min for one. Went into Maui Tacos, Kaahumanu Mall. Ordered 03/12/2015 at 11:58. At 12:27, my taco was not ready yet. I asked about it and they had not even started it yet. Girl told me it takes a while for fish to cook. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t take that long to cook. They lied and told me fish was still cooking. It was a big lie. Last time I’ll be going there… Waste of my time.

Don’t recommend the chicken enchiladas. Was hard and over done, more like burnt inedible. Not worth the money $ 11.20 I paid, down the drain. Very disappointed. Oahu was better in Kailua. Wouldn’t give no star in the Queen Kaamanu Mall location.

I always enjoy the Lahaina«wet on the side» it comes with rice and beans. You are able to add your preferred salsa and onions. They no longer offer complimentary jalapeños. I’ve also tried the(Beach?) grilled fish tacos and the chicken hard taco. The grilled fish taco comes with cabbage and a house made white sauce. It’s pretty good. Fish is well cooked and flavored well. I like to mix that with the hot salsa and onions. Gives it a kick. But the tortilla is so soft and breaks very easily. I prefer the hard taco. The chicken had great flavor, but it was a little over cooked for me. Both tacos come with chips. It’s a food court, so I can’t really comment on service.

I remember when my grandma was still alive she would always pick Maui Taco’s taco salad in it’s really large deep fried tortilla shell bowl. I was curious to see why it was my grandma’s favorite pick at the Queen Kaahumanu Center’s food court, so I gave it a try the other night. Looking at the menu, I was decisive on what type of meat to add for $ 2.50 more. Fish, chicken, pork, shrimp all sounded pretty good. Then the cashier asked if I wanted to try their Sirloin steak and of course I couldn’t resist.(However, she didn’t mention there’s an additional charge on top of the additional meat charge.) The Taco Salad comes in a large deep fried flakey tortilla shell bowl with lots and lots of lettuce your choice of beans, a scoop of guacamole and chopped tomatoes. There’s also a salsa bar located to the right of the cashier with a wide variety of salsa you can choose from.(However, I am not a big fan of cilantro, which all of them consisted of.) I was disappointed that I didn’t read the description that it did not include sour cream, because for me, it is one of the ingredients that puts it all together.(Along with a slice of lemon too.) The food took a while to make so by the time I got my food I was too hungry to go back and stand in line to pay for a side of sour cream. I’m glad the cashier suggested the steak because it was really delicous, seasoned with lots of flavor and cooked just right for it to be tender. The steak was so good, that I wished there was more of it. I also ordered a fountain drink that comes with free refills. Overall, I enjoyed the taco salad. I will just have to remember to order a side of sour cream next time.

I originally was planning on going to Maui Tacos for dinner before heading over to the fair. Now I wish I didn’t bother wasting my time. The cashier definitely did not look like she wanted to be there. I ordered my fish tacos and specified that I wanted it with just cheese and lettuce like how they use to make them. She said that is what it already comes with. I pointed out that I have seen them recently with cabbage and she said Oh Right. When the tacos came out, it was with cabbage and a cream sauce. I told her that I requested it with cheese and lettuce and she said I told you we don’t have it. Ummm… You were the one who said it comes with cheese and lettuce and I am the one who pointed it out to you that it has been with cabbage lately. You never said you cannot accommodate the original style. Gee, I wonder if you are the same lady that told Vince his burrito has no rice since it was not listed but was filled with it. If not, that is a bad sign that your workers have no clue. Needless to say, I did not care to give them my business, asked for a refund and used that money for a good cause and got a Hawaiian Lau Lau plate at the Maui Fair since all food vendors are fundraisers. So after 15 years of patronage, Bye Felicia!

This is the most convenient location for me since I work in the mall. I always to a phone order because the line can get really long. They won’t be serving shredded beef for long and will be substituted for tri tip steak. They also have an unlimited salsa bar that has mild, medium, and hot flavors.

Great tacos, low price — we loved the fish taco and pineapple salsa! Service wasn’t great and you’re in a food court, but on food alone I’d go back.

I wish i didnt even need to give one star. The workers are soooo rude here. They were too busy talking stories that they lost 6 meals that we were goin to order. So sad thats probably why their always so slow. I hope the owners realize before they go out of business!

After hearing great reviews I decided to follow my nose to the Maui Tacos located in the mall. After a friendly smile and the classic aloha welcome from the workers we were quick to order. I ordered the Grilled Fish Taco and my husband ordered the Baja Fish Taco(the only difference being his had some specialty baked beans). Both were delicious and fresh! Grilled fish marinated In some secret sauce, with sliced cabbage and a double layer of corn tortilla was perfect for a light lunch! I chose be pineapple salsa and he got a mild salsa from the salsa bar(which was a nice touch). Both were wonderful and zesty! And pretty cheap too! Under 15 $ for both, and they came with chips on the side! Not bad for food from a «food court»!

Quick eats, fresh & fast, I had the island fish taco with pineapple salsa, it came with tortilla chips on the side, the salsa bar was clean, and the price was right, great lunch especially in comparison to the food served on the cruise ship!

As a californian, avoid this place. The burrito menu is backwards. All the burritos(except seafood) are choice of meat, the only difference is the toppings. Reading through 6 burritos trying to pick out the differences between them is a pain. The salsa bar sucks and the chips were cold and skimpy. Maybe I got a bad order. Pro-tip: none of the burritos are all the toppings.

I paid $ 5 and change for black beans and cabbage. There was some fish in there but an insufficient amount for the price. Not happy with the product.

After two visits to the island of Maui during summer, we finally decided to try this restaurant out this time around. It is one of the many restaurants in the food court at Queen Ahumanu Mall. We’ve noticed that they were always consistently busy with the locals and mall employees which geberally is as good indicator of value and flavor. We ordered the beef and chicken tacos. The portions and flavor were really good. The salsa bar was also really good as well as the sauces really complemented the tacos well. During peak periods, expect to have a short wait did go popularity of this place. We found the service to ‘ve good as well and would definitely return here the next time we visit Maui again.

After returning a year later the food is still Ono! The taco salad was amazingly delicious! When you’re craving chipotle and none around but other Mexican places, Maui tacos a good choice!

If you want food poisoning — go here. Yes I got sick and threw up from eating their taco salad. Heard that famous maui chef no longer owns it. Quality of the food went down to 0. Sadly food at Kaahumanu is so limited so they still have business. SKIP!

I always stop in at Maui taco when I’m on the island. Good food, cheap, and wonderful salsas with Hawaiian themes. This is only my second time at this location. More seating than any other Maui taco I’ve seen.

I was a bit worried choosing this out of the other stores in the Food Court at Ka’ahumanu mall. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a taco place on Maui and wasn’t sure my stomach could handle it. However, lemme tell you… this place is A-OK in my book! I was afraid this was some cheap Taco Bell knock-off, but in reality the food you get is more like a California Tortilla. Some really cool takes on burritos and tacos, with plenty of toppings and salsas to choose from! The burritos are HUGE and should be more than enough to fill you up. The only wary thing was the salsa bar, which was open air and attracting some flies. Still, what do you expect on Maui, where ~everything~ is open air. If you’re looking for some quick food and feel like a Hawai‘ian take on Mexican, Maui Tacos is the way to go!

FOOD: Maui style taco salad — Huge portion of ground beef, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole and lettuce(and no rice, yay!) Taste was a bit bland — I should’ve grabbed some sauce from the bar. SERVICE: Still unfriendly and uncaring. Funny how I get better service at Taco Bell.

This Maui Tacos isn’t my favorite, but it’s convenient. Nachos Corn chips with cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and MT guacamole One order comes with a pretty decent helping of both chips and toppings. I dress this up with my own mixture of the MT salsas, jalapeños and onions. Soft Grilled Fish Taco Marinated grilled fish, shredded cabbage and cilantro-jalapeño dressing This one isn’t bad, but I prefer the Baja Grilled Fish Taco. It’s essentially the same, but the Baja one has your choice of beans. Baja Grilled Fish Taco Marinated grilled fish with shredded cabbage, cilantro-jalapeño dressing, and your choice of pinto, black or refried beans The fish tacos, in general, are pretty simple. I like to dress mine up with my own mixture of MT salsa from their salsa bar. Salsa Bar The Maui Tacos salsa bar is great! It has a variety of mild to hot salsas that are very fresh-tasting and tasty. I love to blend several of them together to create my own mix. The ones with pineapple tend to be sweeter and not as hot. Jalapeños, lime slices, and cilantro are also available in the salsa bar. Overall, this Maui Tacos doesn’t accurately showcase what Maui Tacos really has to offer. In fact, I think the ones on Oahu are better.(Sorry.) Although, I think for a food court restaurant, it’s not bad. 31 Unilocal Review Challenge — #25/31
