Very friendly! Stopped here after our luau got rained out and had a few drinks with some locals. Everyone was really nice and we even got a brunch recommendation from the bartender(swing into the Sunday Brunch at the Grand Wailea if you can!)! Great little dive bar for a few if you are just looking to chill. If you are looking for something«Hawaii» on the beach, this isn’t it. But def worth a stop for a few before bed!

Nice, small bar with couple of tv’s to watch sports. They only have oyster shooters on hand, but you can bring your own food.

I came here recently to meet up with a friend while we were both in town and was immediately impressed with the sweetness of the bartenders and the sense of aloha in this tiny bar. It’s a throwback to a different generation – or Makawao – with bikers congregating over cheap Bud Lites and peanuts while watching the game. I can’t say I’ll visit here often – I live on the south side, after all – but if you need a cold brew on a hot day while running errands in Kahului, this is a mighty fine spot to do so. The only drawback? The beers ain’t cheap, even for Happy Hour.

Nice«homey» place. Not very many people in here on a Saturday afternoon but the bartender greeted me and explained pricing immediately to this non-local. Oyster shooters are now $ 1.25, but still with the price. Beers are ice child. The only downside(–1 star) is that they have no draft beers or other food.

Great bar. Loud music, biker crowd but friendly to the sole obvious tourist. Nicely stocked bar unexplored the tequila. I had dropped my wife and kids off for an earlier flight and was just passing some time. Would’ have been a good choice with the family. Local crowd. Like the attitudes on the bar tenders as well. Walked down to Da Kithchen for dinner after drinks.

Just like Da Kitchen, its in a strip mall and full of locals. Like real locals who were raised on these Hawaiian islands… not transplants from cali, utah or texas. And no F’n NY transplants. Easy parking, cold Maui beers, friendly bartender. Chill brah, mahalo.

Your first and your last place to visit when you arrive on the island of Maui. Perfect hole in the wall, right next to the airport, that will serve you some stiff ones with a friendly service. Start your vacation on the right foot and end it with a buzz. Thank you Hang Loose for getting rid of our depression on the way back to the Midwest!

This place is great to catch a drink or six. Great vibe, good drink specials, and plenty of parking. One if my favorites on Maui.

Dive bar. Definitely made a bad choice coming here with a group of friends right before catching a flight. Bartender never knew how to make a certain drink a friend asked for. We just had one and peaced out of the place.

Hmm… Where to start. We were bar-hopping on this particular Saturday night. ATMOSPHERE: Divey, plain, and a simple old open air bar in a strip mall along one of Maui’s busiest roads. The wheeled bar stools are lumpy. There are humorous signs abound behind the sunken bar with two TV’s. The vibe is slow & dreary so go with some friends. FOOD: Nada. But, there are a few house snacks like peanuts, arare(Japanese rice crackers seasoned with soy sauce), and chips. BEVERAGE: Full bar. Prices are comparable. SERVICE: Out female bartender was super friendly and down to earth. OVERALL: A tiny and okay place to grab a drink after work. Need food? Head next door to Amigos or Minit Stop.

My husband and I had a red-eye to catch out of OGG, and found this place on Unilocal after being dismayed that Da Kitchen does not serve alcohol. We were clearly the only non-locals there, as everyone else seemed to know each other. It didn’t really matter; the bartender treated us really well. We hung out for a couple of hours and enjoyed the dirt-cheap drinks. One of those drinks was a strong and delicious vodka soda. I think that drink alone helped me fall right to sleep on the plane. I’d absolutely hit this place up again, and not just as a place to wait for a flight.

A local dive bar. Very very cool… Cheap beer and drinks, nothing on tap anymore. $ 1 oyster shooters, which are not bad as far as bar food goes. Friendly bartenders(Pua and Lauren are both very cool and friendly). Local occasional hang out for local motorcycle clubs(Koa Puna, Kanakas, Pilau, etc.). But don’t let that concern you at all: the local MC guys don’t care about you and they get along with each other really well… and they’re just like most other locals: they are famously friendly with visitors who don’t act like clueless/inconsiderate tourists(like talking loudly on your cell phone in the bar… take it outside, please). So if you’re visiting, leave any attitude or loud mouth at the door and just enjoy yourself!

This bar is a dive. It is also a total gem. I’d hit this again before any flight out of OGG. I almost don’t want to write this rave about it for fear it might not keep its charm. Seriously. Why five stars? Hilarious, super sweet bartender. Free nachos and chili, hanging out on crockpots, as practical salvation for anyone getting on a late flight without making it around to eating dinner. Amazing faux-leather-club-chairs at the bar. Critically strong drinks. Regulars who make going here pretty entertaining. Looks like a cash-only joint, but they do take cards.

Turkey day dinner was GREAT! Food was FREE! Drinks remain to be some of the best deals in town! Happy hour is 11−6p! Domestic beers are ONLY $ 3.00! Their oyster shooters are soooo ono and at $ 1 each makes you order oh say a dozen!

Friendly home bar. Friday nights there is a band. Other nights, chill. Bartenders always remember what you like and test out anything new you want to try. Drinks are made well and strong!
