So I have been here a few times now and I can say that yes there is always people in the store but it isn’t as crazy as it was when they first opened. They still have a lot of goodies on a 75% sale which makes it super reasonable… I even put together a nice package for a friend for under $ 20(body cream, body wash, hand sanitizers and a holder, and a candle holder). Their products not only smell good but they keep moisture throughout the day. The atmosphere is nice and the staff has always been super friendly and cheery. Thank you for finally coming to Maui

Everyone is really pumped up about this new place at Queen Ka’ahumanu shopping center. We ended up stopping by on a Friday night and it was crazy town up in there. So many people and so much excitement! So this is what it was like: Good smelling candles and lotions filled the air. It wasn’t overbearing, but it was smell-tastic so be aware. Colorful packing and products lined the shelves. There is no shortage of variety in this store. Everything was neatly organized and labeled. There are items for everyday life: soaps, lotions, etc. Stuff for both men and women: shaving items, bath stuff. Little girl and teenaged based gifts: lotions, air fresheners. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices were alright. It’s been forever since I’ve been into a B&B so I have no idea how they compare to mainland/O’ahu. It was decorated for Christmas and the spirit was definitely filling the air. Colorful signs, music and decorations. If you are looking for that something special, my guess is that B&B will have it. And if not, at least you got to sample some good smelling lotions and sprays. Maybe buy something to cover up that«beach» smell in your car? They have a body gel called«Maui» and it smells SO good. Seriously. If you are in there, take a sniff – it’s awesome!

They finally opened! This has to be one of most requested stores at the Mall. Offering all the products(lotions, sanitizers, air fresheners, etc) that they carry, this new store will be able to give Mauians their fix without traveling to the Mainland, O’ahu or buying online(saving people a lot a $$$$). We went the night after they opened. It was a good size crowd for the store which is about 1⁄3 the size of the Ala Moana store. Most of the shelves were pretty much stocked with a few empty spots, which I assume were their most popular items. After looking around, I found what I wanted but the line was almost to the door. There two cashiers that night ringing up customers and it looked like they were doing a good job. I decided not to get them and will go back on a later date. In all, this is another great addition to Queen Ka’ahumanu Center, and I’m sure they’ll last a long time.

The store that at one point said they’d never open up in Hawaii, just opened their newest location on Maui today(11.9.15) in Queen Kaahumanu Center. I expect to see a lot more Unilocal Glamorama Badge earnings! The shop is located on the first level in the women’s Macy’s wing in the former Kid’s Foot Locker and The Walking Company spaces. It’s not a huge space, but is a perfect size for this market. Though I didn’t go to the opening blessing, I strolled in with my mom just after lunch. There naturally was a short line, about 20 people deep which took about 10 – 15 minutes to get through due to crowd control. Once at the door, we were greeted by a friendly female associate, given a discount coupon, and short intro to the store’s inventory and email benefits. Once inside, it was a pleasant shopping experience due to the population control. Foot traffic flows smoothly between aisles and displays. While I believe bigger locations have multiple sinks for soap sampling, this one has just one. We took advantage of the $ 10 off of a $ 30 or more purchase; my mom got her favorite soaps, and I got my personal fave, the Eucalyptus Spearmint Lotion. Come time to check out, there were 4 registers going with 3 queue lines and took about 5 minutes to breeze through. Oddly they had one of the cashiers also answering phones, on opening day, which would fluster anyone’s feathers, but she handled it great with friendly humble opinions of her own lol. You go girl! OVERALL: Everything you could want in their collection at the same price you’d pay if you were on the continent, but at Maui’s low 4.16% sales tax. They’re a great addition to QKC’s vapid list of tenants. And coming soon are parent company L-Brand’s Victoria’s Secret & Pink, set to open in February 2016.

How exciting that the popular Bath & Body Works(BBW) store now has its first store in Maui and the Neighbor Islands! Its grand opening was on 11÷9÷15 in the former Kids Foot Locker and the Walking Co. space in the Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center, the largest shopping mall in the Neighbor Islands! There are now a total of four BBW stores in Hawaii. First opened in 1990 in New Albany, Ohio, BBW is one of the leading specialty retailers of personal care products and home fragrances. They have various collections of hand soaps and sanitizers, body lotions, shower gels, fragrance mists, perfumes, aromatherapy products, candles, and more with pleasant scents using creative names. The innovative scent names include: Winter Candy Apple, Vanilla Bean Noelle, Merry Cookie, Frosted Cranberry, Fresh Sparking Snow, Pearberry, Cherry Blossom, Cocoa Mint, Sparking Limoncello, Sunlight & Apple Trees, and more. It was exciting to be at the grand opening when the doors first opened at 9:30 am! A blessing was held, and pictures taken of its employees, all dressed in white with purple orchid leis. A good crowd waited outside the store prior to opening and once the doors opened, a mad rush could be seen to be one of the first in the store. Unfortunately, management did not form a line, so people were coming from the middle and sides, resulting in people haphazardly entering the store. Security first allowed the 40 people in, followed by groups of 20. After leaving the store about an hour later, I noticed a line was formed outside the store. Three long lines were formed within the store to pay. The lines moved slowly due to: 1) people buying a lot of items to take advantage of a $ 10 off $ 30 purchase coupons that were given when you entered the store; and 2) providing e-mail addresses to the cashier for future discounts. It would have been more efficient instead to have one line instead three lines funneling to the five cashiers on a first come, first-served basis, but I could understand having one line in a busy store could be problematic with it snaking its way around the store. With three lines, though, it was difficult to browse through the different items, as people in these lines were blocking the products. Although there were no grand opening sales per se, there were items that were on sale at the same time as other stores in Hawaii, e.g., body lotions were buy 3, get 3 free; pocket sanitizers were 5 for $ 6; and hand soaps were 4 for $ 18 or 6 for $ 24. I’m sure there will be many more sales. and just in time for the Christmas rush. Despite the opening day jitters, the local residents were happy to have a BBW store where they can buy quality body, hand, and home products of different scents that change with the seasons or those that are popular year round. Before the store opened, it was common to see Maui residents buy these products on Oahu and Mainland and bring them back to Maui. And friends and family would do the same and give them as gifts, as Maui residents did not have access to them. Plus, you could not carry on the liquid soaps and lotions on the plane due to TSA requirements and had to be checked in as luggage. Now, no need for Maui residents to buy them from Oahu or on the Mainland, as well as to transport the products and worrying whether TSA would confiscate them. BBW’s parent company is L Brands, which is an international company that owns 2,971 specialty stores in the US, Canada, and UK. Their specialty stores include Victoria’s Secret, PINK, BBW, La Senza, and Henri Bendel. There are also some 600 additional franchised locations worldwide. There are a total of 1,558BBW locations in the US, and 88BBW locations in Canada. And wherever there is a BBW, a Victoria Secret store known for women’s lingerie, will follow. No exception for Maui, as one will open just around the corner in the same shopping center in Feb. 2016! Another grand opening to look forward to! One more Mainland big box chain for Maui residents — yes! Maui no ka oi(Maui the best)!
