Ambiance and décor is outdated but don’t let that deter you! Nippon has been a staple in Jupiter for well over 10 years and let’s just say they know me by name. Same couple has owned it forever and they provide the quality of food you’re looking food without the extra price for a modern atmosphere. Spicy tuna bowl or hibachi all day everyday!

Terrible food. I swear My wife and I spent the next day trying to get the taste of that restaurant off our breath. Sushi was not fresh very fishy taste. The waiting staff are very nice but not enough to make me ever come back.

My family and I visited Nippon one Saturday evening. The place is very small and very casual. It is not somewhere that I would recommend for a date night if you are looking for something a little nicer. The food is good and the prices are a lot less then other local hibachi places. The soda comes in a can instead of a machine. The atmosphere is just a little disappointing. It seems to be very old and in need of a good updating and cleaning. The staff is very nice and very attentive.

My son and I had an exceptional dining experience here. The food and service were wonderful. This was my son’s first experience dining at Japanese restaurant. Everyone made his dining experience extraordinarily special. Ms. Kaki, thank you for truly being an ambassador and for all the wonderful gifts. We look forward to returning when we vacation in Jupiter again. Cheers. Arigato.

So… I had high hopes. I love hibachi and my man loves sushi. Unfortunately we were both very disappointed. The two waitresses once the business picked up seemed a bit stressed and just seemed to want us to leave. As for the food it was beyond lackluster. I got the filet and shrimp hibachi(non ‘show’ style) which came with soup. The soup was really good. The shrimp was the size of large cashews, very over cooked and tasted like nothing really… No seasoning at all. The filet was cooked well and tasted good. The rice and veggies again had no flavor. I think the reason behind the no flavor was the cooking technique. I watched a live hibachi session while we were there and they didn’t use butter/garlic like every other place when cooking. My man got a few rolls and 1 hand roll and 2 sashimi rolls including the salmon skin roll. The salmon skin roll was not crunchy as it should have been and had little flavor. One of the rolls was very large and thus difficult to eat. Overall he said all the rolls were not great in anyway and would never recommend their sushi as it didn’t taste like good ingredients. On a side note we asked for ‘a lot’ of spicy mayo and they brought about 2 tablespoons… Which for my man is about enough for 3 pieces. We asked for more and she came back with the same amount and said ‘since there are more people here he(the sushi chef) is busy and can’t give you more’ wtf… Really!!! You should have a squeeze bottle of it and give it out freely… Guess not here. The bill(which includes an 18% standard gratuity included since we had a coupon) was $ 70 after the discount. We had filet/shrimp hibachi $ 23 and 2 full rolls 1 hand roll and 2 single sashimi, 1 large saki and 2 beers. Seems a bit high to me… Especially for the quality of food and lack of consistently friendly service. Stay away from this place… Not worth the time or money.

This was a spectacular experience. Nippon is old school Japanese. If your looking for fancy this is not the place for you, but if your looking for full flavored Hibachi and sushi then you’ve come to the right place ! Nippon has been around for 20 years and after eating here you will know why. Their chicken and shrimp Hibachi is like no other. Vegetables tasted fresh and the fried rice is the perfect accent to the whole dish. I will defiantly be back again!

Was in town on vacation for my birthday weekend & decided to have my birthday dinner with the family on Saturday night at Nippon. It was my first time there and after reading the reviews prior to going I knew the ambiance & food will be a hit! We were greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess and was immediately seated. We sat at one of the four hibachi tables, and looking around it is a family friendly resturant as there were other families celebrating as well. We ordered sushi platter for appetizer and for entrée had hibachi chicken & steak, filet mingnon, steak w shrimp & chicken teriyaki which all was delicious! For dessert we tried the fried cheescake & fried ice cream and it was a delicious treat! Nippon is traditionally decorated and even features floor seating.

We have visited Nippon for dinner on two occasions. Once last year and then, again this year. They have a sushi roll on the menu which I really like that is topped with mango and, like all their sushi, it is well prepared and fresh. Although I really enjoy Hibachi, I am not really there for a show… I just like the taste of hibachi food since it is cooked and, right away, it’s there on your plate hot and ready to eat. For this reason Nippon is a good choice for me because it is very laid back and I don’t have to pretend like I am dazzled by an onion cut up to look like a volcano. I enjoy the taste of the sushi and the hibachi as does my wife. We agree that while it may not be the best hibachi we’ve ever had, it certainly is better than most. The prices aren’t bad and the quantities are average. I order the filet, shrimp, and scallops whenever I have hibachi so there was no exception here. The filet was very good and cooked to order, the shrimp was excellent, and the scallops, which are usually my favorite, were just good. The scallops were small and not as tasty as I had hoped. I finished everything and ended the meal pretty full while my wife had some food left over to take home. We used a $ 25 certificate and still managed to spend $ 85.00. We had appetizers, sushi, saki, wine, and hibachi so that’s about what you would expect… I guess. We were surprised by the fact that the restaurant was 2⁄3 empty on a Friday night while neighboring restaurants were packed solid. Either way, the service was very good and we were greeted with a warm smile. It didn’t seem like the Hibachi chef was all that enthused about being there but it worked out ok since we were busy having our own conversation anyway. The only thing we didn’t really like is that they want your coupon up front before you order and then they add a mandatory 18% tip because you have a coupon… Personally, we felt that it was not a very classy move and it ended up reducing the overall rating of this review by one half star.(Incidentally, we usually tip 20% for good service and we know enough to account for the total value of the meal when we calculate our tip) In conclusion. Nice laid back Japanese restaurant with floor seating, standard seating, hibachi seating, and a sushi bar. Good food, good service, average prices, and a comfortable atmosphere. I am confident that we will stop in again someday.

This is a great Japanese restaurant with a very homey atmosphere. Often eat here once or twice a week. I read a review by Eli R. Who said she was disappointed with the habachi. The Mia Kai or Benihana’s it ain’t. No big show or fancy drinks with little umbrellas, just good authentic food.
