Excellent fresh Mexican food! We sat outside on the patio overlooking the beautiful views of downtown Juneau. Another bonus was bottles of craft beer to enjoy. This is a family run business. Great food, great service.

Excellent! Great food, great service. We stumbled upon this hidden gem by mistake and were pleasantly surprised. Don’t let the looks fool you, go in and enjoy!

Only thing that sucks about living in Juneau, AK is paying tourist prices for everything. Taqueria was definitely yummy, saw locals or seasonal staff eating. Only reason for 4 stars was the size of the tacos, though they were fine for my appetite. I was going to have two cod tacos, but they were $ 7 each. Thought I saw them on a Unilocal menu pic for $ 4? Had the pork carnitas for the other. They have Stella on tap, which thought was nice. On lunch break, so couldn’t indulge.

The food is good but the tacos are not filling for a big guy like myself. The décor is very Mexican and quite quaint. It is very much a favorite amongst my colleagues; so they are doing something right.

Very good tacos that give me that San Diego feel and I do miss that some days. Got some fresh coronas and some even fresher tacos. They have a nice selection of hot sauces I would recommend at least getting four tacos. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five was because the price adds up quick.

Very busy but still very good. King crab chile rellenos. Tacos were also very good. We are locals and would recommend it to anyone that likes tacos.

So glad we listened to fellow Unilocalers! Had some street tacos– pollo, barbacoa, camerones, and pescado. Great simple tacos with cilantro/onions and plenty of salsas to choose from! Oh yea, a nice cold cerveza too!

My wife and I stopped in mainly because we were tired of eating seafood. The young woman who took our order was pleasant but the older woman who brought us our food was rude. The food was ok but the rice was greasy and cold. After not bringing us any chips and salsa older lady comes up and ask us, «you done». She then snatched our plates and glared at us as we left. I would never eat there again.

My husband ate here two days prior but was so excited about this place that he brought us in to try it for ourselves. This taco shop is located in the old Paradise Café location in downtown. You place your order in the front then pick your table, your order is brought out and you are able to settle your tab before or after your meal. My husband had the carne tacos and chicken tostada which he loved. My daughter and I shared the shrimp tacos, hands down the best plate on the table. If you like shrimp, I highly recommend the shrimp tacos here. For dessert, the tres leche was very tasty(large sharable portion).

Are you a local of Juneau? Someone off the cruise ship? Whatever the case, if you’re exploring Juneau be sure to stop by The Taqueria in the downtown area for some wonderfully delicious tacos. Recommended to us by our Juneau Couchsurfing host, we stopped at The Taqueria before an eventful evening exploring downtown Juneau for some tacos. Open until 9pm, we arrived around 8 or 8:30 and were greeted with great customer service. After much consideration I ended up going with the fish tacos — cooked to perfection. I also got an order of chips and guac… definitely some great guac, too. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner of The Taqueria later the same evening at the Triangle Club… such an awesome person! With a great location, cheap prices, and a pretty wide selection of both tacos and beverages(alcoholic and not), I’d definitely recommend checking out The Taqueria. You can sit outside on the patio or inside and admire the awesome Mexican themed paintings… Either way, be sure to stop by for a cheap yet yummy taco!

Yum! Awesome tacos! My favorite so far is the shrimp taco. Super yummy food, good atmosphere, and a great outside space when the weather’s nice. Great new addition to Juneau!

Nice tacos. Bought one of each. Picates nice. Located around the corner from the Red Dog Saloon. Nice place to hit for a quick snack/beer while walk’n the town. I will return.

Finally some LEGIT tacos in Juneau! Do yourself a favor and grab a few tacos here. They’re fabulous. They are simple yet delicious. Too many«Mexican» places smother their food in cheese and use low quality ingredients. Not The Taqueria. The tacos are reasonably priced, and they’re a la carte so get 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever. There are also several salsas to choose from. I tried each– the salsa picante was my favorite, but they were all good. Hooray for the beer and wine license, too! This is a serious culinary upgrade for Juneau.
