What a super fun, awesome place to stay! If you are into the theme it is amazing but even if not you will still enjoy the Gnome home. We arrived at night and it was great and mildly spooky walking up in the dark. There were small lights to guide us down the gnome path with little gnomes peaking at us along the way. The room is large and true to theme throughout. The only strange thing is the location of the toilet but at least you can have the other person go into the other room if you «gotta go». I like how the «living room» had the big windows with seats so you can just sit and enjoy some tea while sitting in the sun and enjoying the view. They have plenty of amenities for you to feel at home. The property is enjoyable to walk around, you can visit the cute cows or check out the swing by the main house. I didn’t see anyone else during our stay so we were able to enjoy our privacy the entire time. This is a great place for a weekend with a friend or for a couple.

I surprised my wife with the gnome home. This gnome home is beyond amazing! A mushroom shaped house that made my wife so happy. We are gnome collectors and this did not disappoint! Good hospitality, family owned and friendly service! Highly recommended. Sadly, just heard that they will be closing their doors on May 1^st.

My boyfriend and I spent our first year anniversary with a weekend at the Gnome Home. This place was amazing from start to finish! We checked in after the regular 3:00 check in and Tracy was eager to greet us and give us a quick tour of the location. The morning breakfast beats any of the dinning spots in town. Tracy prepares delicious meals and takes much pride in the food he serves us.
When weather permitted, we spent a lot of time taking pictures with the horses and cattle roaming in the pasture just feet from the lodging. The wildlife is out of this world out there and sitting in the main house looking out the large bay front windows spotting the variety of animals was beautiful.
Thank you so much Tracy and fam for going above and beyond in making our weekend the best so far. We will definitely be returning to stay in one of the other themed rooms.

Me and my wife came here for our honeymoon last year. It was so nice she decided to come back for our first anniversary. We stayed in the gnome home and loved it. The property is beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is hard to beat they served eggs, baked apples, muffins, potato’s, little Parmesan roasted tomato’s and tri-​tip. The people who run the place really go above and beyond to be hospitable and accommodating. Another plus is for some reason this place attracts really nice people so breakfast conversations were great. Book ahead though cause the rooms get reserved months in advance.

The Gnome Home was booked on the weekend my boyfriend and I trekked up to the lodge for the most relaxing couple of days of my life. Tracy was amazingly hospitable as we checked in, I had a long, hot bath in the clawfoot tub (*love* those!) and we spent the afternoon visiting with the horses in the pasture behind the inn, then came into our cottage (the 2-​bedroom, 2-​bath Manzanita Cottage) and lost all track of time in front of the fireplace.
We overslept the following morning, but Tracy was kind enough to feed us after breakfast hours, and the meal was amazing! Filling, delicious comfort food with modern twists. We will definitely be back, and we look forward to checking out another cottage on our next visit. Thanks, Tracy, for making the weekend so wonderful!

this was the only bed and breakfast i have ever been to, and let me tell you, i loved it. primarily because it was exactly what i was looking for.
i went to their website and looked up their rooms. they have really cute themed rooms. the gnome home is one of their more popular rooms.
the elderly couple that runs this place were some of the nicest people i have ever met. and that alone warrants a five star. you don’t find that much now-​a-​days. i remember being late to check out and hadn’t eaten breakfast. the lady said the reason why we were there was to relax and not stress out, so she told me to go back to the room, enjoy my breakfast, take it slow, and not to rush, and that we can check out anytime later; no extra charge.
i have heard that since i was there last. the elderly lady had passed away. and it broke my heart…
i would definitely stay here again the next time i am in julian. they don’t take credit card so bring cash or your check book.
