Every kind of honey or preserve you can think of, as well as interesting knick knacks, candies, nuts, dried fruits, and interesting desserts. Highly recommend the pecan rolls and the creamy honey. They accept card, but cash will probably move things along more quickly. Nice operation with samples inside ;)

A cute stop on your trip through Julian. I found it charming and PACKED with interesting food trinkets. Prices aren’t outrageous, so if you’re there to pick up some souvenirs for others you can go a bit crazy. I expected a bit more cider for sale, but all in all found enough honey, jam, candy and tea to make up for the cinder being in low supply.(I see that others found cider in jugs, maybe they were just low on the day I came in?). 5 Stars for being exactly as advertised, and better. I’ll be back next time I’m in town!

Sandy, the owner, is very customer service oriented and uses her grandfather’s recipe for their ciders. Trying the pear butter, blackberry jam and orange marmalade. Hopefully, with the drought getting better with our snow and rain fall, they’ll have more abundant apple cider for sale next year. We love going here every trip to the mountains from San Diego.

This place gets so crowded haha I don’t even know how we make it around. We bought some of their jam and it has been absolutely amazing. We didn’t buy much else from here other than a small bag of candy but if you just come here for the jam it is definitely worth it! The line still moves by fairly quick and you’re able to get what you want and head out the door. A nice place to stop by and grab all your Julian stuff! :)

This is the place to buy cider in jugs. They also have snacks available inside for you to enjoy on your trip back home. It’s packed with all sorts of goodies. The location is perfect situated on the corner next to the Town Hall and snug between the main market and popular restaurants. Try this place when you’re in the area. They have samples of cider and snacks.

I can’t really say much in a negative way about the Mill except I hate the fact that when there is cooler weather about a million people are there, and I can never enjoy looking at things. It happened again last weekend. When there isn’t crowds it is a fun place to look for snacks, jams, oils, honey and all the combinations that comes with it. They have bagged candy as well. I’m not sure how much of this stuff is actually made in Julian, but I turn a blind eye. Get some warm apple cider while you are there, and you are set. Another fun little stop at Julian

This market is just amazing! Everything they have is super delicious! I’ve been to Julian so many times and never check it out but I finally did last time I went.

First trip to Julian was about 35 years ago and the Cider Mill is one of the places that is still here after all those years. Its about double the size now but mostly unchanged. What your looking for here is the Boysenberry Apple Cider!

Got popcorn and some delicious pumpkin butter. A quaint little shop worth stopping in.

Know this place is always busy and been there before with good yummies. But we spend $ 65 on candy and everything was old tasting or nothing to write home about — English toffee, peanut brittle, malted milk balls, chocolate caramels, etc. Really disappointing. That’s a lot of cash for okay or crappy candy.

Upon venturing around Julian, I ventured to Julian Cider Mill — the have wonderful assorted varieties of candies, chocolates apple butters and apple ciders. I came here for the cider samples and loved the Cherry Apple Cider and Apple Boysenberries Cider. So sweet and tangy both of them. It tasted amazing, especially on a warm day, yum!!! Would have bought it, but it needs to be refrigerated and so, ugh… Otherwise, I would have bought both varieties.

Put this place in your day planner while visiting Julian, CA. It has all kinds of neat stuff, everything from jams, ciders, and dead crickets you can eat! They have some of the most interesting candies here. I am pretty adventurous and bought some of those larvae that jave been cooked to eat. They didnt taste like anything at all. Next time I’ll try the sour cream and onion crickets. Dont expect much attention here. They get super busy on weekends.

Who doesn’t stop here when in Julian? It’s a lot to take in if it’s your first time. As for me, I can navigate this small shop quite well from my numerous visits. I always have the caramel apples, toffees and dark chocolates with nuts. My eldest though was a bit gutsy with cheddar cheese mealworms. Fun Must Stop Spot.

Julian Cider Mill has been open since 1975 and you’ll find various dried fruits(e.g. banana chips), old fashioned candies, fermented foods(e.g. pickled carrots, pickled asparagus, pickled beets, marinated artichokes), apple-related products(e.g. apple butter, apple ciders, apple cider vinegar, etc), and other miscellaneous package food(e.g. wasabi green pea, raw & unfiltered honey). Free samples for cherry apple cider /boysenberry apple cider. $ 1 a cup, $ 4.75 for half gallon, and $ 7.5 for one gallon. I got a cup of boysenberry apple cider — a bit sour, but it was very refreshing. What’s the difference between apple ciders vs apple juices? Apple ciders = unpasteurized, unfiltered, raw products. Apple juices = start as apple ciders, then go through pasteurized and filtered processes, and finally reconstituted with water and possibly other ingredients. A great stop to buy various snacks /apple ciders on behalf of your friends or coworkers!

What a difference coming mid week makes! Back in January, we came here on a weekend and it was unbearable. The tourists were awful, the staff at the store was rude and grumpy. Overall I gave it a generous 3 stars because it is a touristy trap. Fast forward to a Wednesday in May, when the kids are in school and people are at work. NOONE was here. It was great! I got to chat with the employee, take pictures, browse, and take home some Apple Butter and honey. If I had to offer one suggestion, come mid week… and probably when the kids are still in school.

I love to shop here, they always have lots of sweets and treats plus of course the cider. Be careful the strawberry cider stains clothing if you spill it.

The Cider here is delicious… a cup is $ 1, but you’re better off getting the ½ gallon or full gallon since it’s so tasty you’ll keep refilling your cup! They had 2 flavors, one I think was Apple Cherry and the other was an Apple Berry, and they had little cups to sample ‘em both. I think I liked the Apple Berry one the best, but both were refreshing. This store has a little of everything and is a good place to grab snacks, lots of dried fruits and nuts as well as plenty of sweets too. The popcorn for $ 1.50 is a good size to snack on too. Julian only has maybe 3 blocks of stores, and most sell Apple Pies, so other than the market/convenience store this is one of the few places with a robust selection of snacks. If you’re planning on going out on an adventure or driving out, it’s a good place to come to. Keep in mind, the town shuts down around 5−6pm, so make sure you come here before they close, stock up on your snacks and you won’t get the late night munchies without any place to appease your cravings. Also, I think the town opens up around 10am, so if you’re trekking out in the early morning planning to buy food before you explore, you may want to plan ahead, come here and shop the day before any morning activity too.

Make sure to check in on Unilocal and tell the bar tender in the tasting room! You get free tasters!!! We came here because we had tried the cider previously and loved it and now that we are in the area we thought we would check it out. All the ciders here are pretty dry, I would say they all stray from being super sweet. Good if that’s what you prefer =) the location is a few miles out of the touristy section of Julian and super quaint. You can’t drink in the building but you can enjoy it outside or next door so it’s not a big deal at all. It’s open from 9 – 5 so get here early! Everyone is really nice and the customer service is pretty good, overall great cider and great experience!!!

We stopped here during our Julian day trip. Bitsy was with us, so I told hubby to go in first and I’d check it out after him. He was in there for a full 30 minutes, no joke, looking at jams and butters and cider and then standing in an outlandishly long line. I got tired of pacing and entertaining small children trying to pet my dog, so I sat on a ledge around the corner, waiting. When he finally emerged from the shop, I went in there, made a round of the shop, passed by a variety of jams, honeys, nuts and stuff, looked at all the chocolate sold by weight and then back at the long line and decided that I didn’t need 10 ounces of chocolate malt balls. It was harder to leave the chocolate covered raisins though. I grabbed a itty bitty little sample of hot cider from the sampling station and decided to buy the full cup outside for 3 bucks.(Full cup = 8oz styrofoam cup). Delicious. The next day, I opened the jam and apple and pumpkin butter jars and sampled all of them over toast with a nice steaming cup of apple cider. All yummy. Check this place out if you like farm stand fare. Prices are about standard. You won’t be disappointed.

If the city of Julian ever needed a strip club, look no futher! Come inside here and your eyes will pop out, jaw will drop, while the tune of «Drop it like it’s Hot» in playin’ in your head! WooHoo!!! «I’ll pay for that» or «I’d love a taste of some of that» is what you’d be sayin’. This place has got an amazing assortment of sweet and salty goodies! Hundreds of snacks to choose from, real juices, etc. Tons of candy and tons of sweet satisfaction! ~ Every nut you can think of, and even chocolate covered ones too. ~ Peanut butter, apple butter, almond butter, pumpkin butter, various jellies and spreads. ~ Hot mustards, spicy mustards, wasabi mustards. ~ Home-made fudge and caramels. Caramel apples! Dried fruits. ~ Teas and pure honey for your tea. ~ Did I mention the tons of candy? ~ And home-made raw cider. It’s what they’re known for! I gotta say, the best thing I tasted was the chocolate covered honeycombs($ 5.65 bag)! It’s like eating a real«not processed» candy Whopper malt ball! Crispy sweet and to die for! I gotta say, I also loved the assortment of sesame seed sticks($ 4.05 bag). Like the honey roasted or garlic flavored ones. So addicting! Overall the shop was clean and prices were fairly above average. But you know, it’s good to support the locals. And regarding service, I think the sweetest thing of all was the lady working the cash register. She was so nice, positive, and very kind. You can tell she just loved to chat with the customers. I shall return again someday!
