Plato’s Closet

I was reluctant to visit this location but I always visit both Plato’s and their sister store Style Encore as I travel. I decided to sell a few items to have credit for a possible treasure found. They offered me a meager $ 3.00 total for a pair of crystal earring, 2 gold plated designer necklaces and a fab pair of Kate Spade sunglasses. Are you kidding me!!! We I asked the lady what the offer for the sunglasses alone was, she stutters and just repeat the $ 3.00 for the four items. Needless to say, to took my items back home. This is the worst low balling PC I have been to. Lots of cheap clothes and plastic or pleather shoes. Joplin deserves better.

Been to this store twice now. Had learned about it with the Springfield location. This location is new and kinda easy to get into. The actual entrance is on the East, not the West side.
We were greeted immediately upon arriving in the store. Staff are helpful adobe got a dress off am sequin for my wife to try on. Have to have an associate unlock fitting room doors to try on clothing.
There are some great bargains in this store. If you are shopping here examine the clothing you are buying because some pieces have more wear and tear than expected. For example a dress my wide looked at had a portion of the neckline coming unravelled. Otherwise the quality appears good-​very good.
I also questioned how happy the staff are as very few of them appeared to be smiling. :(. Wonder what’s up with that.

Very clean, very well organized & great selection. Having said that, some of the jeans are a bit overpriced & the a couple of the staff seem a bit overwhelmed and a little undertrained when it comes to customer service but overall I would go back.

This is my new favorite secondhand store! I’m so glad Joplin finally got a Plato’s Closet! The prices are very fair and the selection is huge! The employees did a great job of organizing everything by size, color, and style.
The store is small so it’s hard to move around when it’s busy. There are 2 entrances into the store for easy access to the parking lot on the other side of the building.
