Love this place! So nice inside and the food is delicious. The Greek items are authentic. Get the tour of mythos, salad, and flaming cheese.

I don’t eat Greek food often, and I’m no expert, but our lunch here was very good. I got the«taste of Mythos» which included a variety of Greek dishes, many of which I had never had. All of it tasted good, and it was a lot of food – I barely finished half of it. My wife got the chicken parmesan. It was unusual in that it had the traditional marinara sauce on the chicken, but the whole thing was sitting on top of noodles in a cream sauce. She liked the combination though. We would eat here again if we are ever traveling through Joplin.

This is our go to when we are in Joplin. It has consistently great food and we have always had great service. We are confidant in taking clients here for dinner. We have ordered steaks or Greek food and been happy with everything.

I ate dinner here last night and went in with zero expectations. I had heard this was a place to try and leading up to this for a week of business meeting(visiting from out of state), I wanted something lighter to end my trip. Greek salad was awesome to start off with. Wonderful dressing and the veggies were fresh in this. Very good! Then I had the Mediterranean Chicken as my main dish. Chicken was cooked perfect and the rice/pasta under it was very flavorful with the lemon sauce. I recommend this dish! This place doesn’t get 5 stars because I need to try something more adventurous next time to see how the more technical dishes are. I will come back for sure!

Overrated. It took over an hour to Get our food. The Alfredo sauce had so much garlic cloves in it that it gagged me. Alfredo sauce traditionally does not have garlic in it. My sons medium rare steak had so much char on the out side it tasted burnt. The best part of the meal was the rolls. They were delicious! Not somewhere I will go to again.

Fantastic food. Fantastic service. I’ve never had a mediocre meal at Mythos. A great place for those special occasions and priced right for business lunches.

If you have ever had authentic greek food. This is as close as you will get in joplin. This is a charming restaurant with friendly, happy staff. And as a full service restaurant, they make you feel very welcome. The food is amazing, and very well presented. And the daily specials are always worth a try. I highly recommend either the lamb chops, or the Sea bass, that just melts in your mouth. If your looking for something more traditional, try the tour of Mythos. With a selection of pastries, and dips to try, as well as some great tasting dolmades. And a shot of ouzo to wash it all down with. If you looking for a wine pairing, they have a good selection, and the staff are very knowledgable on this. With a full bar you are sure to find something to wet your whistle. And a snifter of cognac for dessert is always my favorite.

My date and I went to Mythos on a Saturday night at 6:00. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We were waited on almost immediately and our server was friendly, personable and helpful. We each had a glass of house reds(Cab and Pinot) and both were served at appropriate temps. We placed our food order a short time later and our salads arrived(house Greek and Caesar). Both salads were ample and delicious. For entrée’s I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken and she ordered the Mythos Pickilia. Our entrée’s were served at the appropriate time(i.e., not 2 minutes after our salads). Both dishes were hot and quite tasty and rich in flavors. I tasted the Pickilia and almost wish I’d ordered it instead. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. All in all a very nice experience. And despite what others have said about the décor, I didn’t find it too cheesy and certainly not a distraction. On the night we were there, it was obviously prom night and quite a few tables were occupied by teens in their finest. Despite the obvious rush on the staff, service was excellent.

We must say this was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had and I even went so far as to email the manager about how happy we were. The food was amazing. Our waiter was the man and even sat down to visit with us. Can’t wait to go back

What is Greek about hamburgers, steak and pasta? There is only one dish on the menu with anything remotely Greek. Disappointing.

My fiancé and I went here for our two year anniversary a couple of days ago and will definitely be back soon. Our appetizer was the seared ahi tuna which was melt in our mouth delicious. We then had the traditional Greek salad which had amazing flavor. My fiancé had the horseradish and crab crusted sea bass with a parmesan and asparagus risotto. I had the grilled prawns with black bean and corn ragu. Both of our entries were of high quality and full of incredible tastes and textures. The wait staff and the bartenders rounded out the whole experience quite exceptionally.

Food is awesome. Got the gryo plate, and the flavors were some of the best I’ve ever had. The seasoned fries were so good, I didn’t even use ketchup. Staff was great, atmosphere was nice. Highly recommended.

I try to dine at Mythos every time I visit daughter and family. The food is excellent: from the lamb chops, walnut chicken, tilapia, sea bass or gyros. The prices are higher than other restaurants but worth every dollar spent. The service is outstanding. Ask for Damon: you won’t want any other waiter!

I have been to Mythos many, many times in the past, most recently this weekend. I really enjoy this restaurant. It’s one of my favorites in town. It has a really good menu where I can order something different every time I go. The restaurant itself is in a very pretty building, appropriate for a Greek restaurant, but not over the top like a Greek-themed restaurant. Inside, it’s nicely decorated, not too dim(but not brightly-lit either), with the main dining room perhaps about 20 or so tables. On busier nights, they do open up their banquet room which is where my husband and I sat this weekend. Our service was impeccable. We had a server named Sarah, and she was very attentive and friendly. Very informative of the menu. As far as my previous visits, I don’t ever recall having bad service. The food has always been pretty good as well. They have a mix of Greek, Italian, French and American food, so there should be something to please everyone. One of the best things to get for appetizers, if you want to get the full-on Greek experience, is the Tour of Mythos. You can get it for two or four people and comes with classic Greek bites: gyro meat, spanikopita, dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), tyropita(feta-stuffed pastry), taramosalata(caviar spread), skordalia(garlic spread), olive tapenade, pita bread — even includes shots of ouzo. So it’s kind of fun and a little festive. However, It is pretty filling, so beware if you plan to eat a full 3-course meal. I always try to get different entrees when I go, although my absolute favorite is the Mediterranean Chicken with spinach, artichoke, tomato and feta aside a delicious orzo. This past weekend I got the Parmesan Tilapia, which isn’t necessarily Greek, but I still liked it. The breading was on the edge of being too salty, but the fish was cooked perfect. It was paired with basil pesto gnocchi, which were wonderful. My husband’s selection, on the other hand, was definitely too salty and he could not finish. He had the veal piccata, which he’s ordered before and enjoyed. If it hadn’t been for the salt issue, it would have been fine. But the stellar part of the whole evening? The server asked if he did not enjoy his meal, and he was honest and said it was too salty. She was very apologetic and said she’d let the chef know — and they promptly removed it from our bill AND offered us free dessert. Now that’s service!(We did not take them up on the offer of free dessert, however — we were too full from that Tour of Mythos!) Desserts here are sometimes a hit and miss. They are always out of the Strawberry Shortcake, the Tiramisu is not a traditional version(although tasty, but for those expecting a classic, theirs is not). The Death by Chocolate is pretty good, and that’s what my husband gets now because it never fails. They did have a cream cheese bread pudding on special this weekend, which sounded heavenly, but we passed. Kind of wished I would have gotten it now though. Sad face. We will without a doubt go back to Mythos. I’m not done making my way through the menu yet — the Chicken Madiera sounds fantastic, the Mussels Pernod app is on the list. Plus, I love a restaurant who takes pride in their customers. A great big OPA to them.

Yes, it’s overdecorated. Yes, our waiter did not seem to know how to pronounce«compote» among other things(it’s not com-po-tay). Yes, you could very easily call me an out of touch, elitist so-and-so for criticizing. And you would be right. Because, simply put, the food is quite good. Especially for the area. The service was excellent as well. Having eaten here twice I was suitably impressed. So while it may not rate among the top spots I or you have enjoyed in other cities, that doesn’t really matter. Mythos is in Joplin. And while it may seem to be suffering a little bit of an identity crisis(Greek? Swanky steakhouse?), it doesn’t really matter. Mythos is in Joplin. And that’s something to be grateful for.

We had a appetizer blitz. Spicy feta dip was tasty and the pita chips were fantastic. Stuffed grape leaves were decadent. Rich and melted in your mouth. Seafood saganaki was delicious… especially the mussels. Spanakopita was good… but a little small and lacking spice. The mixed gyro meat plate was like a gyro with no pita… whcich is fine by me! :) The Tsziki sauce was delicious. We had a unique black beer from Brazil [not a stout] that was silky smooth. The service was super friendly.

Mythos is a tremendous find. I’ve been coming here for months, so I’m somewhat of a regular. George, the owner, has put together a fantastic oasis amid all the chain restaurants on Range Line Rd. The menu can be big and imposing, although I’ve yet to find an item that’s been unsatisfactory. The staff is knowledgeable, trust them to point you in the right direction once you’ve given them an idea of your tastes. The wine list is fairly expansive, some bottles I’m truly surprised to see in a smaller town and I mean that surprise as a compliment. The specials are constantly being rotated so there’s always something new to enjoy. My personal favorites are the Saganakia(flaming cheese) and their creamy tomato soup. I get these every time I stop through. Opa!
