Best donuts in town! Maybe the best I’ve ever had. The long johns are thin and light and crispy and the chocolate icing on them is amazing. Im usually not a big fan of plain glazed donuts but there’s are the exception. They are simply delicious. I am a local and I have heard rumors over the years that the owners are racist, and I saw that another reviewer on here said something about bigoted signs on the walls, but I personally have never seen evidence of any racism or seen any bigoted signs there, so I really can’t say for sure if these rumors are true or false. What I do know for sure is that every time I go there I receive extremely friendly service and that I have never seen them treat other customers any differently. And I’ve been going here for many, many years.

Owned by the reincarnation of Hitler or possibly Pat Robertson. He’s covered the walls with loads of crazy hate-filled BS signs on and in the building, and when there was a deli next door, he’d scream at people who parked in the shared lot when there was deli next door, even if it was the afternoon and he had no business. I don’t care if the donuts here could make the Baby Jesus weap tears of joy, I can’t imagine ever buying anything here. Go to Heavenly Donut or Super Donut instead.

Terribly bigoted signs on the wall inside. They have refused service to me, when I was 16 on a date with a boy, because I looked confused when I saw the sign degrading homosexuals and effeminate men. Most any local will confirm their bad attitude. I’m all about supporting local businesses… but not this place. Besides, it’s more eco-friendly to support foods which are more ecologically sourced, regardless of how far they travelled to your plate. Seriously, check out the research and see if I’m right. :) Go a little further down the street to Norma’s café… These people are way more awesome :)

Cash only! These donuts are very tasty! They have a variety of glazed, cake and stuffed donuts! The staff is very friendly and is able to accommodate the many people that come through the door. The only downside is that there are only three tables to sit at and you feel like you have to hurry to eat so someone else can sit down.

Their old building got completely destroyed by the tornado but it was really old and run down anyways. The newly rebuilt building is so much nicer. They really do make delicious donuts which still tastes great even if they’re not fresh out of the oven. The owners are known to be closed minded and super racist who post all sorts of derogatory signs on their walls. I’ve never had a problem during my visits but the guy who owns the place makes me feel uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate they are that way because their donuts are good but their views towards people keeps me away.

Was visiting Joplin last week and this was one of the best donut shops I’ve ever had. Everyone was so friendly, and the donuts were warm and perfect. The best glazed donuts and holes ever. A crispy and flakey maple bar that was delicious. And the cake donuts were very good too! Hit the place up when you are in Joplin!!!

Yeah. You’d think someone with the name, «Dude’s Donuts» would be a fun, young, somewhat open-minded establishment. Totally not true. They do have anti-homosexual signs with bible verses and all kinds of garbage on their walls. The donuts aren’t that great and they even gave me grief when i asked for some water to wash down the sugar. Will never go there again! I should have turned around and walked right out when I realized what rude assholes they were from their signs.

This donut shop has two things; a terrible closed-minded attitude and truly delicious donuts. In my opinion, the former doesn’t make up for the latter. Some would disagree. They have signs on the wall degrading homosexuality, effeminate men, non-religious persons, and even single mothers. Dude’s has also refused service to individuals with various types of disabilities over the years. They change and remove the signs from time to time but the sentiment is always the same. If you mention the idea of Dude’s installing a drive thru window you will immediately get screamed at and kicked out, according to two different friends of mine. Décor and atmosphere remains unchanged from the 1950’s, and I suppose could be charming if these people were more accepting of the 2011 world we live in! I miss the wonderful melt-in-your-mouth donuts but not the closed minds.
