Where do I even begin??? I had to give 1 star because there is none lower. This is probably the worst service I have received for the amount of money I’ve spent on a project ever. There were originally 3 parts to the home project I intended to hire a professional team to do. 1.) take a wall out of the middle of my ranch style home to open the area up, and put a granite bar in the place for gathering. 2.) take a 2 pane window out on the back wall and replace with a set of French doors. 3. build a good size screened-in, covered deck on the back of the house. This would wrap around to a concrete pad on the right side of the house. When the initial meeting took place, Michael advised I have wind and hail damage from the tornado that had come close to the house. I did get 3 estimates and an insurance check for the damage. Micheal said he would do the work and match the price and give a better product. I settles on a metal roof and guttering. Which would also tie in the new roofing that covered the deck. Total job coast including a new Metal roof = $ 24,200.00 This initially was given an estimate of taking 10 – 12 weeks. It was brought to my attention that the roof on the house was in wise shape than I anticipated, so he went ahead and tore the roof off all the way to the frame. Then used commercial grade ¾″ USB to make the roof more sturdy. I was Okay with the job that made the poor roof better than it was before. No Problems there. Initially, I gave drawings I made to them to go by. I’m not an Architect but I did measure and gave some pretty specific drawings. The first part that went wrong was the roof was not done by the drawing and was to tie into the roof with a higher ceiling rather than a shed like roof. I did not say anything about that. It did not really become an issue until we were not able to put in celling fans because of the height, 7.5″ rather than 8+” ceilings so we had to go with plan B. The job started on 9−11−14 and did not get finished until 2−13−15FIVEMONTHS! And as I see above the same excuses of the weather, OR Lowe’s has not delivered, at some other site, someone called in sick… I had given 75% of the job to them by the 3rd week. HUGE mistake! As I got into the job. There was NOT any detail of a «Scope Of Work» given. I.E. we are going to use these materials, etc. There was NO communication as to when workers would be on site or more importantly NOT be on site. My neighbor had shown interest in getting a roof, room and deck on his house as well, SO I gave Michael’s number to him.(I am SO sorry about that) Rather than finishing my job first, he took the neighbors money and started their job too. Frustrating both of us at the same time with the same issues. A decision was made without asking me to take the week off of my house project to work on the neighbors house. Nothing was asked of me. Not even an apology, nothing. Not having deliveries of the materials needed to get them through a week is really a joke. This was a major part of most of the delays as well as the weather too. When the whole in the wall was made, wood and plastic was put in place but poorly. The holes in the wall escalated my power bill upwards of $ 50 that month. Then they took the week off to work on the neighbors house too. With the brick taken out from the window, some were going to be used to square up the door because the hole was too big. The brick job was a joke. Nothing matched and was crooked. I made them re-do it. It still does not match well. My decision was to leave the ceiling exposed on the deck area. It was sort of bare looking and unfinished really. The foreman asked if wanted to insert some Bead board in between the rafters. I agreed to do a change order. Michael tried to escalate the price for the labor and materials to $ 2000.00 I told him NO! The cost of the materials was $ 400. $ 1600.00 in labor my dad and I would do it. He came down to $ 1100.00 and I agreed. He asked me for the money right away. I was thoroughly PISSEDOFF about that. You still have 75% of the money up front and it is 4.5 months into this job. I can’t believe how big of balls Michael has, along with overpricing a change order trying to milk me for more because of his poor decisions and this is costing much more than he anticipated. When they were«Finished with putting the bead board up, I asked where the trim was? Michael advised, that wasn’t part of the change order. I advised, Leaving the job unfinished wasn’t part of the agreement!!! The foreman agreed with me that they can’t leave something unfinished. SO rather than buying trim I had picked out a Lowe’s, They decided to make the trim. Which was not equal or consistent. The bead board and the trim were to be painted to match existing colors on the house and accent the burgundy roof. This is the bulk of the problems for the job, Now there is issues of them following through with warranty work. 2 months have passed, no work yet. Unilocal limits this post. Sorry.
