If there was a one and a half star, that’s what I would give this place. The two stars are for the fact it was clean, and the food wasn’t scary. Horrible, but edible if you were starving on a desert island, I suppose. The chicken was hard crusted on the outside and dry, dry, dry on the inside. Sides were cold and without being touched by either salt or pepper; the spaghetti sauce on the grilled chicken spaghetti was obviously a can of unseasoned whole tomatoes with water added; the cole slaw was soupy and wilted — obviously bought from a cheap outlet. Nothing is homemade; everything is microwaved and has been left sitting for hours under a non-functioning food warming lamp. The atmosphere tries, but the napkins are like tissue paper and the utensils are throw-away. All in all a horrible experience with a $ 40 tab for two dinners consisting of the Cajun(?) chicken and spaghetti with two soft drinks. Don’t bother.

Went here twice on a trip in Jonesboro, the employees were very friendly and we received excellent service. The fried catfish was yummy, I would definitely recommend ordering it. The place is always packed, yet the service is typically pretty quick which is impressive.

My husband told me about this restaurant and so I had to check it out. Jonesboro really knows how to make some sweet tea and so Dixie Café do too! I enjoyed my experience in here. Very nice and young staff. I knew I shouldn’t expect very much from this joint, but I actually had some«home made» food with decent taste.

I asked someone what the quintessential Jonesboro dining experience was — what screamed«Jonesboro!» — and someone said this place. The name(all I had to go on) sounded promising. Fail. It’s a clean, serviceable, utterly forgettable regional chain place serving mediocre fried food. Really not what I was going for. The best part was the billboard next to it(not connected to the restaurant, as far as I know) that offered the pro-life message that four children wrapped in a Christmas box constitute«God’s stimulus package.» Nearby matter-of-fact anti-abortion billboard? Unique and southern. Dixie Café food? Not so much.
