This place is a gem if you work in downtown Joliet. The portions are fairly generous and the menu has lots of variety. It’s homemade style food, which I like to find even when I’m not at home. It’s reasonably priced, especially if you’re cheap like me. I had a Chicken Chipotle Pita and Hand Cut Fries for about five and a half bucks including tax. The staff is also super friendly. The two drawbacks to this place in my opinion are the hours(they close at 2 or 3pm) and the limited quantities. For instance, they only make so many fries daily, once they gone, they’re gone.

I am in Joliet too often for my comfort level. Its just too close to Chicago but its not Chicago. And that is painful for me. But we’re here to talk about the Sandwhich Shoppe. I’d say that the sandwiches are good. But really the highlight of any stop at the Sandwhich Shoppe is the friendly service. I dunno I guess I am just a sucker for nice people. I was pretty excited when I got asked if I preferred having a lot of ice or little ice in my soda. Its all about he little things gang. Because when you have to go to Joliet, I mean really you just gotta get it where ya can!

I ate here twice this week. I had jury duty, and they’re only half a block from the Will County Courthouse. They offer a nice discount for jurors(I think it was something like 10%, but I’m not sure). All of the prices seem pretty reasonable, and they offer a good variety of soups and sandwiches. I highly recommend the roast beef panini. They say that the menu is changed biweekly, so it there shouldn’t be any shortage of variety. Service is fast and friendly, and the food is tasty and affordable. I would definitely eat here again the next time I find myself in downtown Joliet.

Very nice staff, no atmosphere, and sandwiches just like you could make at home. I ordered the veggie bagel. It cost more than the cheese sandwich but the only difference I could discern was that it had black olives and red onions. The bagel was of the supermarket white bread variety, the cheese was processed slices, there was way too much mayo, and the mild peppers I requested came whole, on the side.(How was I supposed to put those in my sandwich?) But it was quick and edible and, like I said, the staff were very nice.
