Had lunch here not long ago(June 14) and ordered the Jamaican Jerk taco and Cuban Taco. Both were tasty but the meat on both was very greasy. The place was almost empty at 12:45 which sort of gave me an indication of the quality…

I stopped to grab a bite to eat before our show At the Rialto. There were not many options as the Sports bar nearby was very crowded. The place was pretty packed which I figured might be a good sign. NOT. My husband and I both ordered steak burritos thinking that was hard to screw up. We were wrong. The steak tasted like rubber and also tasted like it was dipped in a nasty curry sauce. There was dry rice and dry beans in it with some lettuce. No cheese or sour cream. If it hadn’t been for that weird curry taste I would thought I was eating a piece of cardboard. They had some green salsa that was good which I used to drown my burrito to give it some flavor. I managed to eat a quarter of the burrito but then just gave up and threw it out. I never throw out food but I just had to that night. Also the young girl taking orders had no clue what she was doing and couldn’t count money to save her life. If I’m ever in the area again I’d rather go hungry than stop here. Sorry but just not worth the money we spent here.

Worst experiemce ever. Waited 15 min to place an order another 20 amd still didnt have our order of 4 tacos. When inquired what was taking so long we were told they were out of what we ordered. Will NEVER go back. Tge kids working the counter we dumb, slow and unprofessional.

Service here is top notch awful! The girl working the register had no idea what she was doing. They don’t even have a credit card machine… They use a square reader of some sort and each order took like several minutes. We ordered a few tacos and 20 min went by before I got annoyed and asked what was taking so long. The lady went in the back to check on my order and came back to say that they were out of the meat I ordered. Really? I doubt I’ll go back!

I was going to the place next door but this looked more interesting and I am glad I came here! The Cuban rice bowl is fantastic! Tasty, something I never had before I think I may get another!

Visited this place on my lunch break, ordered the chef special, pork taco on corn tortilla, and black beans. The tacos are good, kinda had a tangy taste to it and a bit bland, needed more salt as well as the potatoes in the taco I came at 11:20ish, so had opened not too long ago, so no rush or crowd. I may come here again but buy something cheaper. btw, my odder was $ 9.88 for the special.

What can I say, you say you put cheese on your tacos and there was none. Taco was all potatoes and very little steak and the rice was bland at best! If you’re from Chicago DONOTEATHERE, YOUWILLREGRETIT!

I do not think I have verbally said«Mmmmm, YUM!» As many times as I did out loud in a Long Long time. Seriously, this place had me savoring each and every bite of these unique fusion tacos. This is not your everyday taco joint; this is a special place that you must try. You must be spontaneous and step out of your comfort zone and order some of the tacos that are not your typical choices. Trust me. This place has instantly become a MUST-HAVE place that I look forward to returning to very soon.

I went to Blue Taco for lunch with two friends. My tacos were amazing. I had the Jerk Chicken and the Egg and Chorizo taco. The flavor and the food was excellent. Everyone gave great service. They were very welcoming and gracious. I found this is a Mexican restaurant with a twist. Besides the tacos, the menu has a variety of different choices. My friend had the barbecue chicken salad which looked great. Another friends brought food home because she wanted her kids to try the tacos. I will be back and will recommend Blue Taco to anyone.

Bonus points for being willing to make me a vegan burrito(even though it’s not on the menu), and knowing exactly what vegan means. The guy working here mentioned that the rice isn’t even vegetarian(it’s made with chicken broth), so keep that in mind if you’re not into meat. My burrito was yummy(filled with potatoes, beans, tomatoes and all sorts of deliciousness) and GIGANTIC(I couldn’t actually eat the whole thing). Prices were fantastic as well. Highly recommended.

First off we ate there on Saturday night around 8pm before going to see Buddy Guy at the Rialto. You may need to update the hours posted on the Unilocal page. We had tacos and they were great! I had the Cuban Taco, the pork was sweet and you could tell it was simmered in BBQ sauce, not just poured on at the last minute. I also had a Jerk chicken taco, the right amount of spice although it seemed a bit too salty. My wife had steak tacos and they came loaded with all the condiments. The portion size and the price were just right. Limited selection of beer and a decent $ 3 margarita. Restaurants like this with great fresh food and prices is what will help bring downtown Joliet back. Keep up the good cooking BT! I’ll be back! Dave and Carol J, Palatine, IL

An undiscovered Jewel in Joliet. Long waits at other restaurants on a Saturday night. But we got in right away at the blue taco. The tacos were superb and very reasonably priced. The Cuban taco was very special. Check it out.

Best quesadillas in Joliet ! This place blows the taco truck out of the water ! Margaritas & sangrias are a great price for the size of the drink.

I had two tacos for lunch. The West Coast Fish Taco and the Jerk Chicken. While I appreciated the freshness of the fish taco, neither had very much flavor; and the jerk taco was extremely greasy. There was oil all over the place when I was finished. It wasn’t horrible, but there are much better places for tacos in the Joliet area that are around the same price point.

If you want your typical Mexican taco, go to a taco truck or any corner spot in town. However The blue taco offered a great menu of some tacos I had always wanted to try. I had the west coast fish taco… very good… fresh ingredients and fish was grilled perfect. Caribbean jerk taco was my favorite. .spicy and flavorful and the combination of sweet and spicy was great. Restaurant was very clean and the décor was awesome. The downtown area needs more places like this to create excitement in that area. Will be coming back to try the Chipotle Shrimp tacos and all the other selections. Little pricy but I think worth it.

Thought we would try this place heard a lot of good things had some different type of tacos kinda like food network stuff. I had the chicken jerk taco and a Asian steak taco. My husband Asian tilapia tacos. The chicken jerk was pretty good could be a Bit more spicy for me. The Asian steak had good flavor but the steak was super tough. My husband said the tilapia was good and flavor was good. In a town like joliet with all the Mexican u, have to really stand out. I think the concept is awesome but the food needs work.

Now this is not your typical americanized taco joint — much better. The jerked pork is awesome but better ask to tone it down if you cant handle the heat(not that bad). Quesadilla’s tasty and loving the fish tacos. Affordable, tasty — this is my new lunch spot AND tomato bisque soup awesome as well.

Pretty good place. I think you need to try the specialty tacos to get the best this place has to offer. I ordered the carribean jerk chicken taco, asian steak taco and the pork belly taco. Jerk chicken was my favorite. Perfect amount of spice and a great yogurt sauce that goes with it. Asian steak taco came with a slaw that was very good. These two were great. Pork belly taco was just ok. It came with a pineapple relish that didn’t do much for me. The mild salsa that comes wi th the tacos was good and more spicey than most. It took 20+ minutes to wait for the tacos to carryout, but it means they’re busy, which is good. Cash only too. Id recommend and hope they stay in business.
