I love this place. Great breakfast & pretty fast if it isn’t the weekend. The coffee is great! No cream or sugar needed! Belgium waffle is very yummy. SEATYOURSELF, which i like. Great prices &friendly atmosphere. They have bags of their coffee for sale too &sometimes jars of honey. The cooks work their butts off & are incredible. I have gotten lunch here once but i didn’t like it so i will stick to breakfast. Crepes would be better if they were smaller with fresh fruit but my grandma likes them a lot anyways. Bacon is always cooked perfect. Very nice owner.

This place is ALWAYS great! How else can it survive a shooting and STILL be thriving? The food is excellent, and I’ve never had a problem with service. Only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because no business is perfect. The negative reviews on here just make me laugh! Especially the lady talking about going once a month and having one bad experience that makes her rate 2 stars! Lol! Why the negativaty? Problems at home? Not getting your lovin? Ah now I’m off subject! Biscuits and gravy is always amazing! Top 3 in Joliet, easily! I definitely recommend, as does the packed parking lot each and every day!

My friend and I meet for breakfast at least once a month and like to sit and talk. We never feel rushed and the coffee is always full. This past Sunday we came in a little late and the after church crowd was there and it was NOISY. We both ordered two eggs, hash browns and pancakes. One of my eggs were broken and hidden beneath my hash browns and my friends were overcooked. Our pancakes didn’t arrive until we were just about finished with our eggs so that was a disappointment. The thing that bothered me the most was the smell of cigarette smoke while we were eating! I have asthma and am very sensitive to the smell. I asked the waitress about it and she went to check the«office» to see if anyone was smoking in there. Then she said the cooks had the back door opened and were smoking outside. Well, they might as well have been smoking in the next booth! I wondered if they washed their hands after smoking. If it continues to smell like an ashtray in there, we will start going to the Big Apple, or Southern Kitchen instead, which is a shame because we do usually like the food and atmosphere.

This place has good food not great. They used to have much better food. The waitress puts on so much powder that it takes your breath away. This is very offensive as were trying to eat. This wasn’t the first time we had her. It is just an ok place, if your starving.

Screw the folks giving Louis one star because they reopened immediately after the shooting. Should he lose his business just because some thugs decided to have it out over breakfast? How is this Louis fault? This place has been there for years. It’s a great quick breakfast and that’s ALL that should matter. Keep doing what you’re doing Louis’!

I’ve been stopping in here for breakfast for a number of years now and don’t know why I’ve never reviewed it. It’s not a trendy or cool place, just a place for good food fast. The breakfast always arrives quickly and is piping hot. I always get one of the breakfast specials, usually two eggs, choice of ham, bacon, or sausage, toast, and hot, fresh, hash browns… not a bad deal for $ 5.45. I don’t know if they made a mistake today or not, but I got FIVE pieces of bacon. The service is always excellent, coffee refills are quick, and the waitresses are always friendly. I haven’t tried any of their lunches, but the prices are quite reasonable. The place can get a little on the loud side occasionally, as a lot of the customers seem to know one another. Today a party of about ten people came in and they were seated quickly and their order was taken in a matter of minutes. The parking lot is often crowded, but I’ve always managed to find a spot. This place doesn’t pretend to be something it is not, yes the booths are kind of small and definitely have seen their better years but the place is clean… and you can get in and out quickly if you like, or dawdle to your hearts content. I often finish reading the paper while the waitress keeps my coffee cup filled, and I never feel rushed. If you’re looking for a nice meal without the hype and high prices, give this place a try.

Had breakfast with my mom who dines here all the time for breakfast. She says its where all the locals go for good food and authentic diner atmosphere. The waitress was efficient and the food came out fast. I had the best potato pancakes I can ever remember eating. I would definitely come here again!

The waitress here was very unattentive and brought us the wrong thing and didn’t even offer to take it back and get us the right thing. This is the last time we will be dining here. Not recommended as most of the waitresses here are rude know it alls.

Four diner stars, not four Charlie Trotter stars… but for a diner, this is a great value, with good food, friendly, fast service, and ample portions. The soup gets rave reviews; the place is busy at all hours; it’s family-run. What more do you want? Go local and dine at Louis’s.

This is a local family diner so I wasn’t expecting much when we stopped in for breakfast. Crowded parking lot on a Monday morning, but I forgot that when we were quickly seated. Nothing spectacular about this menu — it has everything you would expect to see — pancakes, omeletts, skillets, waffles, crepes, cereal. I got the«Breakfast Special»(M-Th $ 4.95): 2 eggs, bacon(5 pieces, I was expecting 2!) or sausage, hash browns, 2 pancakes(delicious!) or toast. Not a bad deal at all. The food wasn’t anything to rave about, but it wasn’t bad. I left with a full belly and no complaints about the food, service, prices, or wait time. Would I come back though? Probably not, I think I prefer Southern Belle’s in Crest Hill.

The food was good not great but good, I only had the burger platter, it comes with burger, fries, cup of soup, and drink, @$ 6.40, with tip $ 10.00, the soup was to die for, split pea, one of my favorites. nice and thick with croutons. The waitress was one of the best I have ever had, friendly, always around, and very efficient, this place is good for about three and a half stars not quite four.
