Of the two McDee’s in the immediate area – here in Johnstown, or the other in Gloversville – you kind of have a big decision on your hands: do you want what you ordered correct but have the time to wait, or would you rather get whatever you can and run? If you want the former, properly prepared drive-thru orders, and have the extra 5 minutes to putter through, then this is the correct McDonald’s of the two Twin Cities. Of the years that we’ve been going there, we can’t remember a single time that they’ve screwed up our order, unlike in Gloversville, where the McDee’s requires a hefty amount of fastfood skepticism after being thrown your bag of soy-injection. I’d wager the Gloversville McDonald’s has about a 60% success rate, and really who wants to further demean the De-evolution of Eating a second(or even a third) time before such sub-standard expectations are met. As with most things in the Fulton County area, neither the G’ville or J’town establishments are in an hurry to get required updates when they come along or immediately pickup on any of the nationwide promotions until what seems like the last-possible-moment. (Eg. McCafe menu items didn’t arrive until a month after other major markets in the area like Albany or Saratoga had them, we were surprisingly given an explanation one morning that involved«going to a workshop and conference in a week» at the time we had asked. Currently, it’s approaching the middle of July, yet the«32oz Sweet Tea/Diabetic Shock for a Dollar» promo that’s been advertised on nationwide ads since mid-June still hasn’t been picked up yet by the local branches.)
