I’ve purchased two dresses from this location a couple years ago. Once was when I was shopping for a prom gown, the other for a winter formal. I did not have an appointment on either occasion, but was helped by an associate and did not feel rushed either time, or feel uncomfortable. Many bridal shops that have lots of prom season traffic, in my experience, could be a bit… unpleasant…with young ladies that weren’t stick figures, however both of the associates I worked with were polite and did not discriminate(size 14). My first experience was with my prom gown. I loved the gown I found at Alfred Angelo. It was elegant and classic(I wasn’t, and still am not, one for crazy patterns or trendy prom dresses that I’ll regret in pictures later). My second dress was for a winter formal, and I believe it was actually a «bridesmaid» dress, but I liked it because it wasn’t too short, clingy, flashy, etc. I would absolutely purchase a gown from AA again, however, I would NEVER get my gown tailored there again. I live almost an hour away from this location. When I purchased my prom gown, I agreed to get it altered there because I figured they’re professionals. The seamstress(in a business suit and sneakers) had my alterations so screwed up after two appointments that even the store manager apologized and told my mother and I that because of the vast incorrect alterations the seamstress has done, they’d order me a new one for free and start all over. I applaud her for admitting that her seamstress made the mistake, and taking care of it to make it right and calmed any nerves we had about the dress. At my final fitting, the alterations still weren’t complete. The hook and eye in the back was not sewn on properly and was dangling loose before I even tried it on, so she sewed it on the spot and sent me home. I had problems with it as soon as I got into my dress on prom night and it is still broken to this day, hanging in the back of my closet. Yes, this was several years ago, but I see from the staff photo added 9 months ago that the unprofessional seamstress I had still works there. My formal dress fit me almost perfectly with the exception of the spaghetti straps needed taken in. I went back for my post-alterations fitting only to find out the dress hadn’t even been touched and had to drive back yet again, and the straps still weren’t right. Bottom line is: get your gorgeous gown here, DONOT let the seamstresses touch it.
