Sal’s One Stop Auto, Truck & Cycle Repair

I started going here for auto repairs simply because they are close to where I live. I am alone and it is hard to arrange a ride home after dropping my car or truck off. They are close enough that I can take my bike with me to pedal back or even walk home. Once they realized my situation, they always offer to give me a ride home, and they are very happy to do it when I accept.
As for the repair service:
My old minivan with over 200K miles on it suddenly developed a very loud exhaust noise. I dropped it of to Sal’s prepared to pay over $ 500 for a new exhaust system. They called me within 2 hours to tell me it was ready. They welded a broken pipe. Cost, $ 75. That was 2 years ago, it’s still holding just fine.
Last month I had trouble with my truck’s brakes. After some diagnostics, they said it was probably a master cylinder problem and a new one, only available from Ford, was $ 700. I need the truck for snow plowing so I authorized the repair. They removed, repaired, and reinstalled the old one, and bled all the lines, all for $ 200. The brakes work perfectly.
These are good, honest, hard-​working people here. I trust them!

I went here to get my car inspected. He gave me the runaround about everything that my car needed before he could pass it for inspection and told me to feel free to bring it in whenever I can to get those things fixed. He also told me that as a courtesy, he did not charge me like other shops would have. Being from New Jersey and out of state where there is no charge for inspections, I took his word for it and thought that he was being kind. When I took it to another shop for inspection, they told me that nothing was wrong with my car and that the only time they charge is if they pass for inspection. Point being: he tried to manipulate me to get my money. After talking to a few other people, I found out that sal’s is not an honest business, even for mechanical work. Don’t trust the owner or his workers… All they care about is money and not your safety.

Fast, friendly service. They only charged me about 200 bucks for a Spring tune up for the motorcycle. That included a long list of inspections. They replaced my spark plugs, adjusted the clutch, slapped a RI inspection sticker on it… and the washed and waxed the bike. What a bargain!

It’s a wonderful feeling knowing you’ve found someone that is a true professional, especially someone that is well versed in all types of vehicles & repairs.
Sal was able to pinpoint 2 major errors made with previous repairs done to my car from another auto shop. He fixed them up & now I feel so much safer driving around.
I would trust him to work on my family & friends cars.
