What an unanticipated treat! Tucked away along Hartford Ave. in Johnston, this is a must try. An extensive menu of freshly prepared Italian and ‘American’ dishes, including seafood, meats, pastas, and eggplant. Incredible appetizer selection(we ended up ordering four appetizers for the three of us and almost licked the plates clean). Large and delicious portions and a lovely, personable and friendly staff. We were so stuffed we took home half of our entreés(our VERY generously proportioned entrées). Highly recommended, but make a reservation!

This place is great. We had the lasagna and veal Sorrento, my son got the spaghetti and meatballs. The food was perfect, the veal could be cut with a fork. Meatballs were perfect too, my wife’s lasagna was so big it could have fed 3 people. Probably the best homemade pasta I’ve ever had. We also got desert to go, we just finished eating it in bed and I had to write a post about it. So good! 3 entrees, bottle of wine, 2 deserts for $ 100, that’s a pretty good average price for Greta food, fantastic service and a nice quiet atmosphere. The waiter and busboy were great, the waiter did 2 magic tricks for, y 5 yr old son! We will definitely be going back to try more of this delicious food!

Excellent Italian food. One of those restaurants where you can’t go wrong with what you order. Everything is delicious. The best? The chicken sorrento. Absolutely phenomenal and unlike anything you’ve ever had.

Gluten free options now on menu… Yippe! Food excellent, service good. What’s not to like? Had the g.f. rachael chicken w/lemon, wine sauce, yummy.

I’ve been on a mission to try out Pat’s for quite some time and this past week, I finally made it in. We called for a reservation, but on weekends they only take parties of 5 or more. No biggie — we ventured in and were sat rather quickly. After looking over the menu, we were fast to decide on dinner as all of our favorites were front and center. We started with mozzarella triangles which were decent. The house red sauce def aided in their taste — as I had higher hopes for them. Don’t get me wrong, high hopes for fried cheese and breadcrumbs isn’t exactly something that keeps me up at night — but I’ve had some really good triangles in my life. These were just ok. Side Caesar Salad for the wife, chicken soup for me was out next. Very good and perfect sized portions. I went(of course) with the Chicken Francaise with house-made rigatoni. Kids both had pasta and meatballs and the lady went with a specialty pizza. My chicken was great and the rigatoni were big and hearty. I really did enjoy their sauce — it’s thin but sweet. I tried the kids meatball and it was fair. Desserts were(what appeared to be) store-bought, but satisfying. Bread was ok — but would have loved to see it warm as it would have been perfect for mopping up the excess red sauce. Our server was fantastic, as was any of the staff who stopped over at the table. Everything was reasonably priced. Will absolutely return.

Pat’s USED to be one of our favorite places to eat. Since they have expanded, they seem to have lost something. We have been twice since the expansion and both times it was horrible. Long wait to be seated, even longer wait for the food. If you get what you ordered right. Even the food has lost its appeal. Sorry, we won’t be going back too soon… Very disappointed!

I’m awarding them four stars because they redeemed themselves as the evening progressed. Arrival: no stars. Had a reservation for 7:00 pm. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Not the end of the world but I make reservations for a reason Seated in a booth: negative stars — waited 23 minutes(yes, I timed it) for a server. Got ready to get up and complain or at least inquire what was up, then miraculously here she comes. Server: Nicole was lovely but it still took another 13 minutes(yeah I timed it again) for drinks. Finally drinks came and then the evening took a turn for the better! Had antipasto board — very good. Not Federal Hill but good. My companions had two veal dishes. They were pleased as the veal was very tender. I ordered the prosciutto di Parma pizza with fig jam. I always want to order this(rather common in many menus) but many places ruin this by piling on arugula I want a pizza not a salad. Pats delivered — tasty crust, tender prosciutto, sweet fig jam finished with tasty cheese which did not overwhelm. This is where I give 4 stars. Had it not been a rocky start. It would be 5 stars

Pat’s is the place to go when you needs carbs and comfort food combined. Nothing on the menu is especially fancy or innovative, but the dishes are well done and the portions are huge. I love their arancini. I could seriously eat a dozen of them, and their gnocchi combined with alfredo sauce is pure decadence. I do prefer the soup over the salad with your entrée because sometimes the salad is freezing cold — like it’s been pre-plated and kept in a fridge, but that’s just a minor quibble. Don’t get put off by the fact that the majority of the customers seem to be in the 60+ age bracket, just get a table and order some food. You won’t be disappointed.

Ahhhh Pat’s, how you fill my belly so good! So good, I had to write another review! Last night was no exception. They had a prix fixe menu for $ 22.95. For that price, I got a crab cake app, the Chicken Sorrento and a cookie square dessert. The crab cake was delicious — fried well and came with a yummy in my tummy remoulade sauce. My gfs got the stuffed little necks which were equally tasty! My Chicken Sorrento(chicken parm with eggplant on top) was to die for. I got the entire dish in the spicy pink sauce. Portion was enormous — enough for me to eat, share some with my gf AND have enough for lunch! The only thing I was confused about were the upcharges. I know they charge extra for homemade pasta(which is a must) but they charged extra for the spicy pink sauce. Guess I’ll know for next time and it really doesn’t matter — it was worth it! Our usual bartender wasn’t there but Nicole was very nice and personable. Checked in on us a few times and made sure our meal was enjoyable and it was!

I was excited to try the new version of Pat’s Italian, but man it was a major let down! I have an open table reservation, but still waited over 30 minutes to be seated. This is understandable on crazy nights, but when you stare at other open tables, it’s very frustrating. We were there over 2 hours. The food was par at best. Everything tastes the same. The service wasn’t good. Maybe it was a bad visit, but I won’t be going back to try again.

I am a big fan a chicken parmesan and what is even better is chicken sorrento. Which is children parm with eggplant and ricotta topped with mozzarella and sauce. This was one of the best I have had. Sat at the bar, the bartender was nice, she could of used some help. My wife had chicken marsala. She liked it but thought it should have had more of a marsala flavor. Prices are average. Definitely going back.

I enjoyed this place a lot! Wish I can give it 4.5÷5. Service: friendly and knowledge staff who are professional. Food: large portions. Delicious flavor, well balanced. Tastes fresh and tasty. Price: $ 15 – 20 for entrees but it’s well worth it with portion and quality. Most entrees come with salad or soup. Complimentary bread wit butter. Was asked if we wanted more which was nice. Environment: large restaurant to accommodate many occasions. Nice bar area, a great family/date area with fire place and booths, and another area with larger parties. Most dining were parties or 3 – 5 people. Someone was there for birthday dinner. Only thing that was a downer was water. I’m not particular about water, but they tasted like a chlorine chemicaled ammonia taste. This would have made the different in 5 stars of perfection. Time: got seated right away with no wait. Order was taken and food was served fairly quickly within 20 minutes. Getting the check and processing the payment took slightly longer which is rare because most restaurants process the payment quicker.

I was very surprised. I’ve lived close to here and never really cared to try it, but wow! So good. possibly the best chicken parm I’ve had in such a long time! I like that it comes with a soup or salad before, mostly because I love food, but I feel its a nice touch. The bar is very nice and much more modern and chic than I anticipated from driving by. The restaurant is much bigger also and service was great. I have nothing bad to say about my experience and the portions are HUGE!

Homemade pasta was out of this world… for $ 1.50 extra it is well worth it. In fact, they should just increase their prices and only serve the homemade version. Service was a little slow at the hostess stand, but our waiter, Jared, more than made up for it. He was great and very patient with our questions. He was also super accomodating to our 14 month old dining with us. Food was SO good and such huge portions. Highly recommend the pescatore with tomato basil sauce! You won’t be dissapointed.

Nicole our server today was super, on the ball, professional, quick, sharp. She knew her wines. Suggestive sold good items. The ancini app is amazing, done so nicely. Brian the manager is doing a nice job overall. He keeps a good eye on the dining room. The food was amazing, I love this place and I don’t say this lightly at all. It’s hard to run a good and consistent restaurant with good service and good food and they WIN this big. 5 stars.

«Want to like it» I read some rave reviews about this place and I couldn’t be more disappointed. I should have known when several reviewers are writing AMAZING when describing chicken parm. No offense, but the word amazing and chicken parm should not be in the same sentence. Let’s go through this. Ordered the mushroom app which is pretty pricey at 12.99 and it was very sub par with burnt garlic favor. We also ordered the aronchini which had no flavor. Finally my wife and I ordered the founder franchais to split. It tasted like pancake batter around flounder. After I picked the batter off of fish, the fish itself was nice and fresh. The only 2 bright spots for this place were the sangria, one of the best I have ever had and the service was also very good. Overall, I think this is your classic Rhode Island American Italian restaurant that has reviewers that suffer from the Rhode Island Syndrome of people that have eaten the same 5 meals their whole lives and think spaghetti and meatballs is a gourmet meal. 2 apps, 1 entrée, a sangria and 2 beers total with tax and tip, $ 75.00. For a few bucks more I could have ordered the same meal at Sienna and it would have been a hell of a lot better than this. Don’t waste the money. Thanks
