We bought probably a dozen fixtures from Kathy at JK electric. Several thousands of dollars, all different, all with different delivery dates, one received with a broken glass. All delivery information was given to us every couple of weeks by Kathy, she maintained an excellent line of communication. There was a set of items that we cancelled due to a very long lead time from the vendor. We had already given a deposit, but Kathy transferred that deposit to the balance on other light fixtures. We would recommend JK to anyone looking for lighting fixtures. This is a family business, you are treated like family. You may spend more time there, but it’s worth it.

My wife and I went to lighting and design because our contractor on our new home asked us to go there. We spent about 3 hours one night here and the quality and selection is really good. We worked with a woman named Kathy and seemed to be on top of her game. We had an allowance and the overage was paid by us at time of purchase, however after paying we realized that there was one too many lights and were owed a credit. It was late and Kathy was not sure how to fix the system. No problem tomm it will be taken care of. That was 3 months ago. From that point the customer service went completely down hill. I would call to ask about it and Kathy, always very nice would come up with an excuse. Earlier this week I spoke to Kathy as this I feel had gone on long enough. She assured me once again that she was looking into it and going to resolve it. Nope still not resolved. I demanded to speak to a manager, which I had done in the past, and as it happens no manager was available. Just unbelievable to say the least. Today I received a call from Jim, the store manager. We spent about 45 minutes on the phone and we figured out that the builder needed an extra light and the credit was placed to that, so in reality the builder owed us as small amount. I really cannot believe that it took three months for this to be resolved. The manager Jim apologized and agreed that this was extremely poor customer service, and in this economy without customer service you cant survive. I also asked if this was the first that he has heard of this and guess what… YUP! Figures, Kathy, didn’t know what she was doing and in typical poor salesmanship fashion tried brushing it off and not addressing the matter. If you do go there, again great quality and selection, do not, I repeat do not work with Kathy. Turn around run out the doors and wait until someone else is working.
