I am a born and raised chinese food fan. This is my favorite hot and sour soup in the area. The restaurant is clean and service is speedy. My great annoyance with this place is no combination specials for night. I hate that. Go for lunch and get one of the specials and you will be happy.

I am puzzled by the good reviews. I got the chicken and broccoli, vegetable fried rice and a cranberry juice. The chicken and broccoli tasted like old burnt motor oil. And the cranberry juice tasted like chemicals. The vegetable fried rice was just ok. The price of the chicken and broccoli was on the high side for the portion size. And the place was not clean looking either. I went there alone and they sat me next to a table with a kid being loud. It was just a mess. I almost walked out after the first sip and bite. I had to drown the food in duck sauce just to get it down. The cranberry juice was so bad that I couldn’t take more than two sips. I told the waitress that it tasted weird and she charged me for it anyway. Never again.

I’ll admit I was not a fan of this restaurant when it was still Jackie’s. The last time I stopped in at Jackie’s, the sauce on the orange chicken wasn’t too appetizing and I didn’t enjoy the experience at all… HOWEVER, now that this restaurant is Hei Place(under the same management), the food is absolutely delicious and I love eating here. I decided to give this restaurant another try about a week ago. My friend and I went crazy and ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, the nime chow sampler plate, General Tso’s chicken, and an order of beef fried rice. The food was so incredibly good that I brought my family here two days later. My Mom is an extremely picky eater and she loved everything she ate. The nime chow is fresh and the peanut sauce is delicious and perfectly balanced. The fried rice is awesome and their egg rolls are the best I’ve ever eaten. The General Tso’s chicken is perfectly spiced. Takeout is just as delicious as the food is when you dine in. The service was excellent — fast, friendly, and attentive. I will be back here again for sure.

Super good sushi! Not only was it delicious but the plate was beautiful. They take great pride in their culinary presentation.

Jacks never disappoints. The food is always fresh and very tasty. I have never had one bad experience coming here. The pineapple fried rice is amazing as well as the nime chow. I only know of one other place that does it slightly better than Jackys. Great place to eat in or take out. They do both very well.

Absolutely the finest in Asian food. The staff is very friendly and helpful with menu selections. The Sushi bar is always inventing new and exciting Sushi specials! Highly recommended.

Pretty Good It’s a Chinese restaurant, the most subjective restaurant type a person can review. Everyone has a favorite. Nice décor, good service, great drinks, decent food. One of better Scorpion Bowls I have ever had. The price is great too, 11.95. I don’t know when these Chinese restaurants started charging 15 – 20 bucks for a bowl, but it’s ridiculous. This place isn’t gouging people. Go grab a bowl Thanks

Came here for a quick drink and an appetizer. The scorpion bowl was one of the best I’ve ever had! However the spicy wings weren’t very spicy. I would definitely come back and try something different. Wish some of the food options had more of a description. When I asked the waiter what something was he couldn’t describe it. I will be back for the drinks however.

My review is not on the overall quality of the restaurant or food. it is literally based on the fact that it has… THEBESTWONTONSOUPEVER. Some may not care, but if you do. It is my favorite. I don’t know why, couldn’t tell you, nothing too crazy special about it but I could eat it everyday… literally. Also, the general gao shrimp is off the heeeezyyy of’ sheeezzzy.

Restaurant was good looking, the food was okay, but both left plenty to be desired. Since it’s a little out of my neighborhood, I probably won’t be back. But hey, it might just be for you — just not for me.

This is a review for the Chicken Pad Thai — do not order it! It does not look, smell or taste like traditional Pad Thai and should definitely be avoided at all costs!

I have had Jacky’s Galaxie before and they never disappoint. So some co-workers and I were starving around 9:30pm last night. Our shift ended at 12am and we needed something really good. It was a loon shift). We opted to take out some dishes from the Jacky’s Johnston location. Service & Experience Not only did they take our order so close to closing(10pm), the food tasted fresh and delicious. I had the spicy fried chicken wings. It was not really spicy but, I can eat them all day. Such flavor! The fried rice was equally as good. I recently had a bad experience with Asian cuisine and this place perked up my palate again. The staff did not rush me and even stated«thank you for choosing us» How sweet are they?! Check all Jacky’s Galaxie locations!!! Always delicious and fresh.

Great scorpion bowls! I’ve been coming here for years and it is by far my favorite of all the Jackie’s. I love the Pad Thai I have to stop in at least once a week for it. The steamed dumplings are delicious as well!

This is my favorite sushi place outside of providence. Clean, attentive staff, doesn’t smell fishy or like greasy chinese food. I often come here with friends for soup, sushi & drinks. They make my favorite singapore sling around, and their Hot & Sour soup is nice and fresh, but doesn’t cause me to turn flushed and sweat when eating it. The sushi is always fresh, and they understand to seperate mine from my friend’s if she orders crab or shrimp.

Jacky’s in Johnston is my new favorite Galaxie location. The restaurant is clean, the staff is knowledgeable and very attentive, and the food is very capably prepared. I strayed from my normal dinner of Chicken Pad Thai to try the Rice Noodle Soup with Chicken and was rewarded for my efforts. For around $ 10.00, I enjoyed perfectly prepared vegetarian Nime Chow, but the star of the show was a giant bowl of Rice Noodle Soup(serves 2, but let’s be honest here, it just served me) that I’ve been dreaming about ever since! Deliciously cooked chicken, light, flavorful broth, a generous helping of rice noodles, all topped off with a handful of fresh sprouts, a squeeze of lime, and my personal touch, sriracha and pad thai sauce. Four of us ordered 3 entrees, 5 appetizers, and drinks, and the bill came to around $ 62.00. Fresh, flavorful,(wallet) friendly. You won’t be disappointed!

Very quick service and good quality food for a decent price. Somehow they are able to do Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese food all very well. You can’t beat the lunch specials. They have a lunch menu of Chinese combination plates for under $ 10, and they have sushi lunches that range from $ 8 – 15 that come with soup or salad. Both the miso soup and hot and sour soup are excellent. The hot & sour is definitely my favorite, and one of the best I have had around the area. It actually has mushrooms and vegetables in it along with plenty of tofu, and it’s nice and spicy. When you order hot and sour at most places in the area, it tastes like yesterday’s leftovers thrown in a pot. Nope, this is definitely fresh. I do like the miso too. It’s not too salty and has lots of seaweed. I tend to stick to the sushi dishes here because it’s always fresh and a good value for what you get. And I looooove that they don’t put huge rice balls under the fish so I can actually eat it in one bite! Sometimes the rolls here fall apart when you pick them up, but that can be forgiven since everything is so fresh… never brown avocado or stringy celery, and the fish is always perfect. Last night I got adventurous and tried the nime chow with shrimp. It came with a side of peanut sauce for dipping. So delish! You also MUST get the green tea tempura ice cream! I have shamelessly eaten a whole serving even on a «full stomach» … there’s always room for ice cream. Also, the fish tank at the front is pretty awesome. I actually don’t mind waiting for a table here(not that I’ve ever had to wait for long) because the fish are so fascinating to watch. They have a giant eel and a HUGE plecko along with tons of other really pretty fish.

Always a good choice for a big group lunch for people at my company and probably one of the few places that has a little bit of something for everyone. I have a co-worker that has strict dietary requirements and can still find something he likes here. Décor wise the place has a low key oriental style that’s subtle and booths throughout the place. They have a large fish tank at the door and a brightly lit fully stocked bar that has just about every hard liquor and spirits a person could want. They have a couple large round tables for groups of up to 10 and can put a few square tables together if needed for larger groups. Food I only really had lunch and they definitely give you a great value for the price with a lunch entrée which includes your choice of soup, plain or white rice, and chicken wings(2) or chicken fingers(3). If you go with the Japanese lunch it’s slightly more expensive. Appetizers, our group usually splits a few order of Nime Chow and Spring Rolls which are very well done. Can’t find any fault with the food as I am always well stuffed and satisfied for lunch. A restaurant that can open a few branches over RI must be doing something right. It’s hard to do an Asian fusion right but I do see a predominate Chinese style menu but Thai and Japanese are done fairly well. I also see the manager/owner always there to make sure everything is good by walking around the floor. Definitely a plus for any customer relations.
