People complaining about price on here are ignorant. This is what quality wool products cost when they’re not being made in Asian sweatshops by people making .02 an hour. Johnson products are made by Americans in Vermont with American wool. That being said, I own one blanket, three jackets and one backpack made by Johnson. All top notch products that last forever and outperform synthetics in my opinion. Being from New England I’m proud to wear their product with pride.

Amazing, family run woolen mill with beautifully made products. Have purchased many gifts from them, including a fabulous weekender bag and really cool outdoor picnic-type blanket(each available in a bunch of patterns and colors), and we even included several of their products on our wedding registry. Recommend them very highly– their physical store is super cool too if you have a chance to go in person.

Lots of wool items, not all of which are made by JWM. The prices are pretty steep($ 150– $ 200 for a blanket) but I know wool stuff isn’t cheap. In case you are wondering there is nothing about the factory or how items are produced.

if you elect to purchase online from this company(I would advise you NOT), please be sure to note their stringent, borderline ABSURD, return policies and widely varying product sizing. I bought a wool vest from johnson for my brother for Christmas. he is an avid hunter and fisherman and frequently bought their products. he loved the appearance and weight of the vest, but the item ran extremely small(MUCH smaller than other johnson items he has in the same size) and unfortunately it did not fit. no note was made to this effect in the product description. we called the store shortly after the holiday and I was informed that I had to pay for return shipping, incremental charges for a larger size, and EVENMOREMONEY for the new item to be shipped back to me. only for it to potentially not fit AGAIN … which would, as you can guess, start the whole circle over. instead I elected to return the item for a refund. apparently the store has only a 14 day window for refunds which I am now outside. they offered a store credit and a suggestion to make second reference to size charts. at this point, I have NODESIRE to support this company due to their unreasonable and inflexible policies. this is a $ 130 vest! i asked my brother to call about the matter in hopes he would have some success in negotiating a replacement item or new purchase. the response to his effort was nothing but condescending. in fact, the MANAGER(gail?) told him he was«A TYPICALNEWYORKER!» to say I’m infuriated is an UNDERSTATEMENT. i will NEVER order from them again.

Stopped in while taking a driving tour of northern Vermont. There are some great deals to be had at the factory store. Jackets, pants, accessories, bolts of fabric… We didn’t have any use for most of the items(it never gets cold enough to wear any thick woolen anything in CA) but did end up purchasing a throw. The sales people are super friendly and helpful.

Did you ever want to dress in plaid? Want traditional hunting gear for a New England winter? I bought the coolest red, plaid, woolen hat here. I have been wearing it around New England and I get a response each time. If your in the area, I was suggest you take a minute and see this place. There is also a factory tour where you can see grumpy, headphone clad old people sewing things.
