Because I’m a raging carnivore and have lived all over the U.S., a top-​notch meat market is one of my first finds when we move to a new area. Since moving to Jefferson County nearly 12 years ago, Pernat’s has been our go-​to meat shop, both because of its proximity to home and their consistent excellence in service, selection and quality. I highly recommend them.

Excellent butcher shop with friendly employees.
I highly recommend their smoked meats, especially the double smoked summer sausage and beef sticks.
They will cut meat to order and have a large selection of made in house brats. We have not had a flavor of beats we did not like but so have a few favorites. Jalapeño cheddar, whiskey peppercorn, and tomato basil are amongst our favorites.

Great, great little shop! We stopped there regularly for 3 years. Now that we’ve moved out of the area, I MISS their premium brats like you wouldn’t believe. I’m actually not a huge carnivore, nor a huge brat fan, but their premium brats are really fantastically delicious. Prices are great, too. Look for good specials on the steak cuts, too. I also don’t normally like baked beans, but their baked beans are wonderful — SO different than the gross canned stuff. Potato salad was just so-​so. Still, the premium brats are impossible to beat!
