Ponce Salon

So: after reading good reviews about Ponce studio I decided to go have a haircut and hair color. Never got an appointment with the owner (fake VIP behavior)
They booked my app with one his assistants. The haircut is ok, the stylist wanted to save her time so she decided to use straightener for my hair, since the dryer takes time. She didn’t bother herself to ask me how i prefer the hair brushing. My hair was simply dark brown and i wanted a bit darker brown. The result is black hair with patchy brown !!! What a cheap service?! They charge super high prices and they did a zero star job. I called them to see how the problem can be solved. The stylist gave me a stupid excuse.

I was visiting a friend in town and desperately needed a color and cut. My hair had previously been colored auburn. It now had a ton of greys and the auburn had transformed into another color altogether. I looked on Unilocal and found Ponce. I asked if they had any openings they had a 2 o’clock with Vernica. I figured I had nothing to lose, my hair was pretty bad. She did an amazing job, with the cut and color with highlights. I am sure I couldn’t get a better hair stylist if I went to NYC where I am from. Thanks

Just got the best hair cut ever!!! Carlos is amazing, he styled my hair perfectly. Everyone is so friendly, and professional, just loved it !!! I made my next appointment already. Best in the Tri-​cities.

Carlos owns this place, and he is the shit. He is not for the faint of heart (or the conservative), that is for sure. I remember the first time I had my hair cut by him, I nearly about passed out in the chair. Rather than methodically cutting my hair and measuring out inch by inch like most stylists, he was like Edward Scissorhands– shears and hair flying everywhere. It appeared that he had no method to his madness, but my hair had the best style that it had ever had. He’s made me look good in any hairstyle– long hair, short, bangs, no bangs, etc. Carlos has a way of combining what you ask for with his own personal flair in a way that really suits your face.
He’s also the go-​to guy for color. I’ve asked for color before that Carlos has straight up told me would wash me out, and then altered it to what he thought would look best– and he was always right.
Things to know: It takes FOREVER to get an appointment here. You need to call a month or two before you think your hair might start looking bad, haha. Also, this place is expensive. I think I usually pay in the $ 130 neighborhood, but you get what you pay for. I like to have him give my hair the initial style, and then I’ll pay someone cheaper to maintain the cut for a few months.
Overall, love this place!
