If you order from the takeout menu the portions are extremely small. I’m from Florida and just moved here. same price as food in florida but way small portions.

I’ve ate here numerous times and it’s been really good every time. The grill is really good because you pick from shrimp, steak, chicken, and many veggies for them to cook on the grill. They also have sushi if you like it, I for one don’t but have heard many say it’s good. I really like the options that they have on the Buffet. They have American and really a lot of different varieties of soups and types of food to eat. It really is accommodating for families with different taste preferences.

This is my second time here and I still loved it, however it was not worthy of a 4th star, let alone that elusive 5th star. All of the saucey entrees, such as general tso(my all time favorite) were excellent. But some of the other dishes like the chicken kabobs were dry. The sushi bar was nice and had a great selection, but the flavor was just OK. Even the Mongolian BBQ tasted bland and the beef was overcooked. Overall, it’s OK. Great selection. Good service. OK food.

Entrance is very nice-a very pretty fountain that was clean! Bathrooms was very nicely decorated and up to date! I love the pick what u want for them to cook-u choose the amount of meat, veggies, rice and or noodles! Then they make it fresh while u wait! They do have a sushi bar to-I don’t like sushi myself but, it looked like a good selection! My favorite by far is the ice cream freezer-like 8 choices of ice cream and as much as u want!!! Yum! On a side note they have coupons in the little pamphlets that u see laying around-not sure what there called!

So I have a confession to make. I try not to stereotype. But maybe I do. For some reason, especially at almost every other Chinese place, the seating situation is weird. I swear there can be only one other diner in the place and they will seat me in the table nearest that person. Strange. It’s like they start filling in the dining room from one end instead of staggering folks so they will have the most room/space/privacy etc. Well, they have not done this once at Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet. So either I need to revise my weird expectation/stereotype or something is amiss, but amiss in a good way. They stagger seating to allow for space and have accommodated by quirky requests for this booth instead of that one or eating on the other side of the room or whatever, so that’s cool. So the food here is decent. They’re missing a few things I expect in a Chinese buffet, namely clams, broccoli beef, and something else I’m forgetting at the moment, but I remember when I’m winding my way through the buffet tables. They DO have that super hot awesome chinese mustard, really good broccoli chicken and General Tso’s chicken, pretty decent hot & sour soup, and a good salad/cold bar that includes the now ubiquitous cold steamed mussels and that damn delicious fake crab meat. They also bake that yummy fake crab with cheese and have it on one of the hot bars. I could bathe in that stuff I swear. OK, another stereotype observation, oh let’s just make it a question… why do Chinese restaurants always cut the lettuce so dang big compared to any other salad bar? Atmoshere: They re-did the old Ryan’s Buffet and it’s pretty impressive. The bathrooms are very nice, except they were out of paper towels on my last trip so I had to use a funky, air-dry, vertical insertion, hand blower gizmo that eventually dried my hands some with cold air. Meh. They have some bright neonish signs inside and a cool water feature in the entrance lobby area. It’s been clean and shiny every trip. Maybe the Super Buffet up by ETSU& Kroger would still be open if they kept it this clean and nice. So the egg foo yung is more like a Veggie Denver omelet, and every cook I’ve seen looks to be more hispanic than Chinese/Japanese, but hey the original import card player Mr. Chen cooks at Ming Garden and their buffet isn’t nearly as good so the apparent ethnicity of the cook is pretty irrelevant but mildly interesting. They have some sushi prepared, but I haven’t tried it. More of a sashimi guy. Wifey digs the ice cream. The service has always been spot on. I realize it’s easier to take care of a DIY buffet vs a «full-service» situation, but my drink needs are always met here and they are pleasant. So, Empire finally has some competition. Ah, Capitalism. But the competition doesn’t have clams and fresh oysters on the cold bar, nor do they have the dynamic sister duo of Samantha and Ling. But it’s still early. Meaning Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet is still new. Game on.
