Excellent place to go for massage! I’m pregnant and have been doing the mother to be massage and it’s just amazing. I would definitely recommend using this place for those prenatal massages. You can also book from them online which is super convenient.

My boyfriend bought my mom a gift certificate for an hour and half deep tissue massage for $ 150 for her birthday and she was so looking forward to it. She was highly disappointed as the therapist applied barely even subcutaneous pressure and my mom said she couldn’t wait for it to be over. She had even told her the areas that were bothering her below her upper arms and the therapist never even touched them. My boyfriend and I have gone there several times for massages so at our next appointment the following week, we explained my mother’s dissatisfaction to the clerk and she informed us the manager would be notified and we would be hearing from her. It’s been over a month now and no one has contacted us. We are now getting our massages elsewhere. Expected more from a place we have given a lot of business to.

Wonderful massage by Rhonda. She was very thoughtful and concerned for my comfort, and really helped me with my sciatica pain. She showed me some stretches to do at home for that, and I’ve got an appointment scheduled in a couple of weeks.

I had a massage with Rhonda yesterday and she is A-​MAZING!!! This was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Rhonda knew what pressure points to focus on to relieve my tension and stress and I feel soooooo much better today. The atmosphere of the facility is nice and warm and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I will make this my new GO TO place for massages and other treatments.

I have received manicures, pedicures, skin care, and massages from the professionals who work here. Rhonda has always been so kind and knows how to dissolve my muscular knots. Beth has always given great manicures and pedicures, and I enjoy our conversations. Savannah is a wonderful esthetician who provides me with expert knowledge by explaining what types of products work best for my skin and how I can protect it post treatment. There are others who have helped me and also provide the high level of service mentioned above.

I love that the business is in a house, it makes for a comfortable feel, welcoming and warm. I had a manicure and pedicure before leaving for the beach in June. My manicure and pedicure lasted for at least three weeks, which I was more than pleased with. I have recently purchased gift cards so I can return. I also purchased gift cards for two of my daughter’s for Christmas.

I booked hair and nail appointments for myself, and a facial and microdermabrasion for my step mother. From the time of booking to walking out the door after our appointments were complete, everything was perfect. The staff is excellent, the services exceeded our expectations and satisfaction, and we had a wonderful time. We both look forward to many more experiences at this spa.

Love this place! Beth is the best at what she does-​makes the waxing experience far better and more endurable than anywhere else. I highly recommend her for any and all waxing services. Staff is friendly, and completely non-​haughty.

Body, Health, and Mind Center is the best day spa in the TriCities area. I have been coming here for a few years. All the technicians are wonderful. I have had massages from Brittani and Rhonda, and both are excellent. I particularly enjoy the hot stone massage, and Rhonda recently gave me a prenatal massage that really helped sooth my aching back muscles. Dominique provides a wonderful, relaxing facial, and Erica and Beth are both great with nail care. I’ve had massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures at BHMC, and they have all been refreshing experiences. I highly recommend their services. They have great spa packages, too!

I love this place! I come here for all my beauty & pampering needs! I get facials, massages, and manicures here often and every time has been wonderful! Savannah does such a great job with my facials and helping me with my skincare and I received the best shellac manicure from Dominique. I am a runner and weight lifter so my body is always sore and Rhonda gave me the best sports massage I’ve ever gotten! I love the cozy & family like atmosphere here. I highly recommend it over larger, less personable spas because they get to know you here & seem to care about their clients! :)

I was in Johnson City this week for work and desperate to find a waxing place. I usually go to European Wax Center for bikini waxes so I was really nervous to try a smaller, local place. I found Body Health and Mind Center on Unilocal,called to see if I could get in within the hour and they were able to take me. Beth (any) was my esthetician and she was amazing! My first time getting waxed with strips instead of hard wax and she did such a great job. I highly recommend her for your waxing needs.

This review is about Dominique, the hair stylist at BHM. She is fantastic at doing long layered cuts, especially on hair with natural wave or curl. My issue with her work is that she is not competent to use the hair color line, Rusk, available at BHM. She literally ruined my bra-​strap length ashe blonde hair last April. I am having to go through the painstaking process of growing it all out because she fried it with Level 10 bright, brassy yellow highlights. Something went terribly wrong and she lightened my entire head, not just the hair in the foils. So what did not turn bright yellow turned coppery orange. Anyone with ashe toned hair knows that warm tones like yellow and orange do not go well with their complexions, besides warm tones in hair that appear yellow and orange do not look like they occurred in nature but at the hands of a stylist who does not understand color tones, developer or the amplification of lift when heat is applied. (was left under the dryer/​heat and it timed out. She was nowhere to be seen but I suspect she was out smoking and checking her phone. When I saw my hair, I kept saying, «I am freaking out.» She said, «Oh it just looks lighter when it’s wet, it will be darker when it’s dry.» Repeat that and tell me if that is not the most stupid logic or the biggest lie you’ve ever heard. She did offer color correction THE NEXT DAY. She allowed me to leave like that; no professional would ever do that. Needless to say, I did not return because if her judgment and skills were that far off on highlights, I can’t imagine her attempts at corrective color. Despite my harrowing ordeal, I was charged $ 100 and told color correction would be free. I did not return for color correction and contacted management about my experience. My money was reimbursed but I am living with the consequences of her inexperience and smugness (she never ever apologized) daily. Bottom line: proceed with caution if Dominique Bowen is still the stylist at BHM when getting any kind of color service.

Seriously, I called at 4:00, (they close at 6:00) and asked if there was any chance I could get in for a mani, a pedi, or both. I needed all desperately but realized I was really pushing it with my request. I don’t live in JC, just here on business… the friendly lady on the phone got me in with Dom for a shellac mani and a pedi. Dom was wonderful and I was treated so well… not like a last minute rush job at all. I’m completely happy with the services AND the service. I hope I can come back on another trip to JC.

I got married this past weekend and decided to use the spa finder gift card my new hubby got me for valentine’s day in order to get some pre-​wedding spa things done. The spa is ran very professionally and every employee is exceptionally polite. Beth Ann did my leg waxing and actually made the experience somewhat relaxing, which is very difficult to say about a leg wax. Lauryn was my massage therapist and the massage was very relaxing.
Everything was very reasonably priced and I think that when I visit my in-​laws over the holidays, I may just have to make a special trip to Johnson City to visit this delightful spa.

This day spa is delightful. It is set in an older updated home, which they have turned into a day spa. (The building use to be a restaurant years ago) You walk into the front door and start your rejuvenating process. The staff is friendly and professional. They know their clients by name and treat everyone with respect. They have an array or services and amazing massage therapists. They also have spa packages to fit all sorts of needs and wants. Love this place!

i called last minute for a massage and they were able to fit me in! =) thank you to jo ellen for giving me a great massage, i was nice and relaxed for the rest of the day. definitely a nice way to treat myself after a long week. i’ll be back for sure.
