AMB Roofing & Sheetmetal

Looking at the glorious reviews I went with AMB to do my roof. We agreed on a price and went ahead. When they took a section of the roof off, they said I needed some attic baffles or something like that between some rafters to prevent condensation. Well, there’s a hole in my roof at the moment so tough to get competing quotes, etc. Had to do it for $ 875, which was a nice 12% add on to the original cost. Turns out they were basically 2 pieces of some molded plastic and a new 4×8 piece of plywood. OK. My bad I agreed before understanding, but this was flag 1. Then they asked if I needed the satellite dish re-​installed on the roof. I had cancelled DTV some years ago, so I said if it helps you, then no. Fine. Roof done, balance paid. A day or two later I look at the front corner of my house (where the dish was) and I see the cables from the dish just hanging off. Flag 2. No biggie there but the issue is that they were covered by a corner end piece where the wood from 2 sides of the house came together. It seems the roofer just took the dish off and pulled the cable so that end piece came off leaving a hole in the soffit. Flag 3. I called my AMB guy, he came over, looked at it, said they would fix it. I’m thinking probably less than 1 hour work for 1 guy. Pfffffttt! Excuse after excuse (getting cold, other more important jobs to finish, on vacation… you get the idea) week after week. By this time the corner was a nice home to wasps building nests and eating away at the wood. So I just got tired of calling and emailing, told them forget about it and climbed on a ladder and after several trips to Home Depot, fixed it myself. Was not fun (60 years old on a 20 foot ladder killing wasps and pounding nails while off balance. Thanks for that guys.) Only happiness I got was I have a rental property that needs a roof. Guess who’s NOT getting the job.

I never write reviews on Unilocal but I was so impressed I felt I should let other people know about AMB. Of the three contractors that came out Charlie from AMB was the only one who came out the same day I called, gave me brochures, and a proposal. Very professional and knowledgable compared to the other guys. I knew then that this was the company I wanted doing my roof. The crew came when they were supposed to and didn’t waste any time even though it was the middle of December and really cold out. It took them two days because a lot of the wood had to be replaced. The roof looks great and neighbors have complimented on it. I tell them like I’m going to tell anybody who needs a roofer to go with AMB.

We got 8 quotes from various roofing companies and decided that we wanted a metal roof. Jason from AMB Roofing came out to the house, spent time with us and answered all our questions. Jason also answered all my questions (and there were a lot) via email and phone for at least 8 months before we finally decided to get the work done. They were fairly priced, the workmanship and workers were absolutely fantastic. They worked a full week in sub zero weather and were pleasant and professional. We are very happy with our metal roof and it looks great. We will also have them quote us on siding our next project. Highly recommended.

AMB replaced the roofing on our home in October. They gave us a detailed bid and came out to our home to speak to us in person regarding the job. There were no surprises. The workers were professional and prompt. The job was completed in a little over a day. The workers cleaned up after themselves and left us with a great looking roof. We couldn’t be happier.
