Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids

We used to come here for Ms. Stacy. She was the only one there who consistently did a good job on my child’s hair. We have seen two other stylists, and both chopped up his hair pretty unevenly. Stacy always happily fixed those mistakes for us. Now that she is no longer there, we are moving on.

There has definitely been changes in owners or managers in this place. I have to downgrade my original review.
They do a decent job at hair cuts, but the place is run like they just don’t care. There is no consistency.
Yesterday we went in for a haircut, but there was a wait due to appointments. No issue, I understand. We make an appointment for the next day, only to wait until they take all the walk ins first, «because they go by order on the sheet.» Very disappointed.

Eh not impressed. My daughter got her first haircut there today and for one thing neither the receptionist or the stylist were especially friendly to her. A kids haircutting place should be going out of their way to be sweet to the children that come in. As far as hair cutting skills – we told the stylist we just wanted her hair cleaned up a bit and get the bangs out of her eyes. They cut it way too short in the back-​looks like a boys haircut. We’re lucky we can still put it in pigtails. We’ll be finding another place for her next cut.

Great and quick service. Wonderful cut. And we enjoyed Ms. Stacy so much, we will be scheduling appointments with her in the future. My son loves playing video games while getting his hair cut. He even gets excited to go!

Update on Sharkey’s. They offered to refund our money, but only if I took down my Unilocal review. In other words, they are willing to pay for good reviews. Here is the exact text, copied from the BBB complaint I filed: «To make customer happy and We can offer 5 hair cuts free which is value of $ 100 or we can refund the $ 41 as being asked for. However i want te customer to call me and also remove the ugly feedback given to store.»

We have been going to Miss Stacey for 4 years now with both kids. We love the place! Clean, friendly and fast. And a great place for birthday parties too!

We love Sharky’s only place I have taken my 2 ½ year old. We love Ms Stacy and my son looks forward to his haircuts with her. We started going right before his first birthday for his first haircut and have gone for every haircut since. The atmosphere is very kid friendly and not to geared to one gender or the other which is great because who wants to take there son to a girly place for a haircut lol? I tell everyone to take th little ones to sharky’s!

Went to this place in november with my 18 month old. Went because it got great reviews and I drove half an hour to get there plus the lady I usually go to was booked up. I was so disappointed. The lady was really mean to my child. She kept pushing her head down hard because she wanted to move and kept telling me to do the same. She was crying the whole time and she’s had at least 4 other hair cuts and never cried before for a hair cut. Yes an active child but so are most kids at that age and if you can’t deal with that then you should not be working at a salon for kids. I will never try this place again. I felt so bad for my child. Not worth the drive.

we believe we contracted LICE at this location. We had not been in contacted with children or other people, etc for 10days prior and 4 days after our haircut. We went to a lice removal professional and they gave us a time frame based on quantity and size of lice, and this was our only opportunity to be near other children or people where we would have been in contact. I contacted the corporate office and they did not respond, so I feel I should warn others. Be sure all combs and brushes are in barbicide! We Will NEVER go back. our haircut that was marginal, rushed and didn’t include any of the first haircut amenities advertised on their website. Very disappointed on every level.

Fantastic. I was beyond pleased with our experience here after procrastinating on getting my son’s first haircut out of fear for what might result. At 15 months old, he had a TON of hair (including some beautiful, adorable baby curls with which I hated to part), but I was petrified of taking him just anywhere and leaving with a chop-​shop look. Thankfully, that was not at all the case here.
After a very short wait as a walk-​in client on a Saturday, my son was placed in a little race car and the hairdresser set to work, immediately soothing him and clipping away at an expert pace. Although he looked like he wanted to cry at times and tried at first to get out of the car, she worked so quickly and with such skill that he was done in probably five minutes. And he looked absolutely ADORABLE. She did an amazing job and even gave me two tiny bags with which to keep a few locks of his curls. We also left with a certificate commemorating his first haircut.
Although $ 18 for a first haircut might seem like a lot, for this mama it was worth every single penny. I won’t be nearly as nervous about the second haircut.

Great prices, great service. My toddler loved it they kept her entertained the whole time she didn’t even realize she was getting her hair trimmed! For less than 25 $ we left with a haircut, a balloon, a very happy little girl who got an awesome haircut, a «minicure» and a ring! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

This place is AWESOME!!! They were the absolute perfect place to get my godsons 1^st hair cut! The people here are skilled and so nice! He was happy the entire time and didn’t even flinch!!! Will def be going back!

Great kiddy atmosphere and very nice staff. My son’s first hair cut and he loved the little car he sat in and the movie they played for him.
The older kids play games on a PlayStation on the other side which I never saw in any other hair salon for kids.

If your kids are not at the age to sit still for a hair cut at a typical salon, this is a great fit for you! Stylist move quick and get the job done. I never worry about my child being nicked with scissors. Hair cut always to my satisfaction. Stacy has been great to our child with sensory issues. We’ve always had good experiences here over the years we’ve been coming here.

I am super excited that a kid’s hair salon opened near us! I have a 3 year old boy who is a little too active to sit still in a adult barber’s chair and have scissors near his moving head. Sharkey’s is a great place dsigned for an easier kid’s haircut. They have themed chairs for the kids (IE Lighting McQueen with movable wheels) and cartoons that keep our son’s attention while the stylist works on his hair. The staff and owners are extremely friendly. You can also schedule your appointment online. I just scheduled his third appointment. I would recommend to anyone in the John’s Creek or Cumming area!
