Salon i

Really disappointed. All these good reviews gave me high hopes my hair cut would be great (I normally go somewhere else but they didn’t have any availability for the next six days which seemed way too long to wait). My stylist didn’t wash my hair even though it was super greasey (I had just worked out). She just wet the ends and cut/​dried it. I thought it was weird but assumed she must know what she was doing. Even though it looked ok enough I went home and knew I had to immediately wash my hair since she hadn’t and the roots felt dirty. My hair has a bit of a wave to it so after I got home, washed, dryed, and straightened it, there were obvious parts that should have been trimmed but must have been curled up higher when she was cutting. Now I have uneven hair and still have to wait six days before I can get into my normal place to fix this mess. Awesome…

I’m breathing a sigh of relief!!! Finding a new hair salon is one of the most difficult things to do after relocating to a new area. To me, it’s easier to find a new doctor and dentist than a hair colorist and stylist. I took a leap of faith a couple of months ago and tried another local salon, but was extremely unhappy after getting the worst haircut of my life — which is tough to fix — (although a decent all-​over color and highlight) at an extremely high price. I made an appointment at Salon i after reading the good reviews here and I was very (!!!) pleased with my experience! As we all know, it can be difficult to relate in layman terms to a professional how we want our hair to look when we walk out the salon door. Okko took the time to listen to me and created the perfect color, highlights, and cut that I wanted!!! My search is over and I’m committed to Salon i!!! Now I need to find that doctor and dentist…

I went to Salon I after reading the Unilocal reviews. I was throughly impressed! Okko cut and colored my hair. I just moved to the area and was very nervous about finding a new stylist. Okko is wonderful and I’ll be back to see her in 8 weeks!!!

I have known Okko and Chiko for over 17 years now. I have never gone to another stylist because they both always do such a great job on my hair. I recently had my hair colored balayage style by Chiko and had it cut by Okko. I LOVE IT! Not only do they do an amazing job, they also have unbeatable prices. It also helps that they are just the sweetest people. They always put the customer first and offer complimentary massages and drinks! I will continue to come here because even after all these years, they are still great at what they do.

I went to Salon I for the first time last Wednesday to get a haircut, base color, highlights, and low lights. My last stylist cut my hair into choppy layers with a color that did not blend with my natural hair color, so I needed someone who could correct these problems. I found this salon less than four miles from my house using Unilocal,and was very happy to find an experienced stylist that did an exceptional job with my hair. Chiko discussed cut and color with me, asked me questions, and showed me color swatches to determine what I wanted… and I love the result! I have straight hair, and she blended the layers beautifully so that it is easy to style and still looks good the next day. I would highly recommend Chiko if you are looking for a fantastic stylist in a relaxed and professional salon. I will definitely go back to her when I need my next haircut and color!

Okko has cut my hair for 15 years and I will not let anyone else touch my head! Great people!

This was my first time at Salon i but definitely not the last. Okko trimmed my hair and cut my bangs, and she was amazing. She knows what she’s talking about, and she knows what will look good on you. She does what you ask her to do, but she also offers fantastic suggestions that she thinks will make your style look even better — but she won’t pressure you into agreeing with her. Chiko was styling someone else’s hair across from me and she seemed just as professional. In fact, the entire staff is professional, hospitable, and friendly. DEFINITELY coming back here again.

Fantastic. A very spa-​like experience. Great massage, soothing classical music, and about 35% cheaper than my previous salon. Great cut and color. I will absolutely be back.

I have been to Salon i twice now, first time was for highlights and cut, second time just for a cut. Chikko has done a great job taming my thick, wavy hair both times. My teenage boys and my husband have each been one time and were also very pleased. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the highlights she did, and the cuts are great as well. Plus they give you complimentary honey lemon tea that is DE-​LISH and a mini-​massage at the end. So glad to have finally found a salon that is consistent, reasonably priced, close-​to home, and NOT snooty!

Couldn’t be happier. I’ve been going to Okko for the past year or so and I’m so glad I finally found my forever salon! I tried several before finding Salon i and they didn’t come close. They are fantastic with color, all of the reviewers are spot on with their wonderful experiences.
I had to move, so it’s not my forever salon but it would have been if I stayed in the area!

After letting my hair grow for a while I decided to get it chopped off last night which was a big step. I felt like I was in good hands at this salon.
Oko is a super sweet lady and really listened to what I had in mind. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. I like the relaxing atmosphere at the salon, I enjoyed the tea and was happy that there was no awkward small talk that some hair stylists force on their clients. It was also the first place I’ve gone to that didn’t try to talk me into buying their hair products.
I loved the head and shoulder massage I received and the hair cut turned out great! I got plenty of compliments at work today and will definitely be back for my next cut!

Nice place. I got a gift card from husband, just because, to get ombré hair. Husband and I were very happy with outcome. I will be back to see chiko because she did awesome job. A nice touch is that they offer yummy tea as well! !

Hair stylist I have been using for the last few years decided to quit and I found myself in the market for a new place– as a creature of habit I found the task daunting as I’m quite finicky. After «sampling» the level of specificity and customer care Salon i’s competitor’s offered, I was convinced I had hit the low ceiling that Atlanta had to offer in professional hair care services. WRONG. The fundamental difference between prior endeavors and Salon i is that, Stylist/​Owners Chieko and Okko KNOW HAIR — and with it understand details: different types of hair, how hair grows, etc. In my opinion — this is the quintessential of any professional in the hair industry
Cheiko was my stylist and I was pleasantly astonished with the outcome — Family owned and exceptional levels of customer care that really shine where illusory depictions that most competitors employ are just not present.

This salon is amazing! I had my hair cut here for the first time by Okko. She did a fantastic job with my thick and curly hair, which no one has been able to cut as nicely as she did. Everyone there is kind and accommodating, and my mom was served green tea while she waited for me to get my hair cut. The salon itself is clean, smells good, and overall has a great ambiance. Okko told me that if I decided that the cut wasn’t short enough, I could come back in a week and get it cut again, free of charge. I think the total cost was $ 40 including tip (I didn’t get my hair shampooed or conditioned).
Thanks for the amazing service and fantastic hair cut! I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to my friends and family.

I love Oko. She is like a cool mom to me. First, I need to let the readers know that Oko and Chico uses to own space at salon 1580, but now they have their own salon here. So Oko and Chico are no longer at the other salon so any reviews about them are mot valid at the old place anymore.
I just got another fabous haircut from Oko. Her skills are amazing and she modifies as she goes along with the haircut. Perhaps the thing I love most about her is her ability to connect with her clients. She is very flexible and is willing to take appts that are not during regular salon hours. This is so helpful for a working mother of two. She always makes me feel comfortable and encourages me to bring my kids if it is easier for me. Again, so accomodating for a mom. Today, She told me of a story that a client has been coming to her for 25 years! Undoubtedly, its because of their warmth and stylist ability to deliver what you want.
I left today and on my way out she bought me a gift for my newborn son. How incredibly thoughtful… but then again, it really does not surprise me because that’s just the type of person she is. I’m so happy she moved closer to my house, but even if she was at the old location, I would still drive the distance for her hairstyles.

I have been having Okko cut and color my hair for the past year since I moved to the area. Okko does a fantastic job! Even if she wasn’t so great I would probably go back for the awesome head and shoulder massage she gives. She really takes the time to think about what would look best on you and give you suggestions but she will do your hair exactly how you want if you don’t want to take her suggestions. I know because I resisted her suggestions for the first couple of times she cut my hair and the last time I let her do whatever she wanted and I love it!
She also cuts my husband’s hair and he is very hard to please.
