Great location(I am right around the corner), even greater server(Will). He was attentive, quick, professional and well mannered. The décor is fun and the restaurant was clean. This place needs to figure out what it is. I am mixed myself and all about fusion cuisine, but Brooklyn Cantina needs to find a niche so they can focus on being perfect at it. Being from Brooklyn myself I can tell you there are a ton of great restaurants there, but if this restaurant migrated they forgot their recipes. I ordered a chicken Churrasco bowl. It stated it came with cilantro rice. First of all, par-boiled rice(think Uncle Ben’s) does not belong in a restaurant. It has a flat, artificial taste that nothing can mask. It makes everything served with it taste like nothing. The beans, the chicken, just tasted oily. I sent it back and Will graciously brought back my 2nd choice, short rib carnitas(tacos). The meat was tender, but super bland. The guac was bland too. I sure wish it was served with some pico de gallo, would’ve made a huge difference, for sure. Lastly, what Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa? It was offered to us, but I didn’t realize until we looked at the menu, that it cost $ 3.49. I am pretty sure I won’t be back, and I am sad about that.

Great neighborhood restaurant and bar! You won’t meet a stranger at The Brooklyn Cantina, the patrons, staff, and owners are all friendly, helpful, and fun. Envision«Cheers» with Tequila. The food and drinks are all solid with great options ranging from Street Taco’s to their infamous Molcajetes(fajita’s baked and served in a hot lava rock bowl). If you’re a taco enthusiast, check out the Braised Short Rib, Fish, and Trailer Trash Taco’s. The Queso and chips are really nice, especially with chorizo and Jalapeños. Mark(one of the owners) keeps the bar under control(ok, not so much…) and makes fantastic Margaritas(The Jalapeño Cucumber and Guavarita come to mind), 100 oz Beer Towers, and Five Star Bloody Mary’s(which come with their own Slim Jim)! While some reviewers might question the lack of Sweet Tea on the menu, but I’d ask them to find me a restaurant in Brooklyn or Mexico that serves sweet tea and, really, we’re worried about sweet tea in a Cantina ? All in all. The Brooklyn Cantina is one of those rare finds where you can bring your family, friends, find new friends, and enjoy a great meal and cocktail.

We’ve been here three times now. Great food. Fish Tacos are a winner — fried or grilled, and don’t miss the Molcajete Seafood served in a hot lava rock bowl. Terrific. Friendly and attentive staff and ownership. So glad to have a quality neighborhood place like this.

Really enjoy the food and atmosphere here. We have tried a few different items and have been pleased with all of them. But the atmosphere here is great, a friendly neighborhood restaurant. The owner makes it a point to visit with everyone(without being obnoxious) and we have felt so welcome!!! Highly recommend this place

Love the food, it is great! The service/staff is top notch! Eveyone works really hard to please everyone at the table, as well as the bar. We went to the bar after dinner and the bar tenders, Mark and Sean were extremely focused on their customers. They create a fun and very clean environment!

Ala Etris, Boyd Rose falls well short of justifying the hype. I’ve had worse Tex-Mex and I’ve certainly had better,

This place is awesome. Nobody runs a bar like Mark does; you may remember him from the now closed Noche! They may have«cantina» in their name but my husband and friend just had one of the best meatloaf, creamed potatoes and green bean dishes ever, and my husband is a meatloaf snob! The chipotle seasoning might have something to do with it… it was Amazing! Nice variety, especially with the daily specials. Kudos on the Mark’s fish tacos, as well! They were awesome! Then their was a fabulous band, outdoor patio complete with blazing fire in the fire pit, loads bar with tons of beer varieties and loads of fun happenings! Fun time especially when Mark himself, a Brooklyn boy, was stoking the fire! Loved Brooklyn Cantina and especially Mark!

We were very impressed with the food that we had at Brooklyn Cantina and are so happy that we found a neighbourhood restaurant that we can now frequent. As foodies, we pride ourselves in looking for places with good eats and good atmosphere and we may have just found one that has met all the requirements. First off, the staff is so friendly and goes out of your way to make you feel welcome. Darren and Mike were so kind to us and went out of their way to make sure that we were having a great experience. FOOD My husband was obsessed with the steak tacos. He actually said they were the best he had ever had. As well the rice and beans were very tasty. That’s quite the compliment coming from a mexican food junkie. He was chowing those bad boys down so quick. I had the vegetarian tacos and they were delicious as well. We are hoping this gem sticks around for a long time so we can enjoy the delicious mexican food!

Ugh, I wanted this place to be fantastic. So many restaurants have failed in that space and locals just want a decent, fun place to eat. Is this a Mexican place? I’m not really sure. It’s definitely Sports Bar feel. The bar did look like it was a decent place to hang out on the weekend. Okay, sadly, this is where my positive review ends. 1. No sweet tea. Come on, you may have«many other restaurants in NY and NJ», but you’re in the South now. Make sweet tea. Any one of the child-servers can show you how. 2. 99% of Mexican places give chips and salsa when you sit down, it’s like getting garlic bread with your baked ziti, to give you a NY reference. It just happens. The amount of salsa you get, which was nothing incredibly special, is paltry for the price and the cheese dip tastes like it has sour cream in it to increase volume. The chips were overly salted. 3. We both got fajitas. SOMUCHOIL! Oddly, mine were overly salty and my son’s were under seasoned and the meat was extremely tough. On both, the onions were overcooked and barely there. 4. The child-servers. You need adults working there, not just kids. The kids are great as busser’s or hosts, but I’d appreciate an adult that is familiar with the nuances of serving — they have experience. Our sodas were not refilled, there was A LOT of cackling and talking from the back, in fact, more so than the patrons in the restaurant. 5.Kill the Disco Ball. Video didn’t kill the radio star, the Disco Ball did. Sorry, Adobo will continue to be my favorite. no identity crisis and full of flavor.

Hi everyone! This is a new restaurant inJohn’s Creek — it has good atmosphere, friendly service and good food! One more thing — great bar and drinks. Mark the owner and bar tender is friendly and charismatic! We will be back! And Jamie was great — friendly and attentive!

We have been here 3 times now. First time was tasty although owner was way too intimate while trying to eat(shook our hands several times) Second time went on discount taco night and the same tacos we had had ½ the fillings and were cold. Also if You enjoy chips & salsa, plan to PAY for them and received only ¼ cup of salsa. Really chintzy. Disappointed. Nice atmosphere but not worth the money. Burger is good.

I have been waiting to come here. The menu looks good. Asked my server what was good and she gave me tonight’s special, which was the meat loaf. It was very delicious. The managers checked on me a couple times, nice guys. The servers were very attentive and friendly. This really can make or break a restaurant, and they did great. I know because I am in QA for restaurants and been a manager of one. So overall great job.

We thought we would try this new restaurant around the corner from home– food as horrible. The chips were stale and the cheese dip tasted like Velveeta cheese– and the dip as cold. Very expensive. The owners were a pain in the a**… I will say our waitress was super… We will never go back… if you are reading this– dont waste your time or money…

We went there last night for the first time and without having heard or read anything about it. First impression was great based on the very vibrant and active bar scene. Mark(part owner) and Roxy were very outgoing and friendly behind the bar, and interacting with them and the other bar patrons was great — we will be back just to see them again. Dinner was also pretty good — quick and friendly service by Christie. The queso dip was great, and the chips were pretty good. Salsa was a bit sweet for my taste, but YMMV. Out of 6 of us, 5 really enjoyed our meals. One of our group wasn’t thrilled with his steak dinner, but overall still liked the place. This could be our new go-to spot, especially for drinks, and will definitely give Marlow’s and Senior Patron’s some competition.

I’d first like to say that I really wanted to love this restaurant! I can walk there in 5 minutes and really want businesses in this shopping center to survive. My family and I tried them last week – waited an hour for our food which was mediocre. I ordered the shrimp ceviche which was just a couple of whole shrimp in salsa/tomato paste? I wouldn’t suggest that. I did like the homemade chips that came with our burger. Our waiter was very kind and I liked the decorations inside. Although, we sat inside the patio looked like a nice place to have drinks. I would possible go for drinks but didn’t care for the food.

We had high hopes for this place. Mainly because nothing ever seems to be able to stay open in this shopping area. Unfortunately Brooklyn Cantina will not be the saving grace. For starters: no sweet tea! Next, IMO the restaurant has an identity crisis. It claims to have Mexican food but the décor is not Mexican, the servers dress like a sports bar, and you don’t get chips and salsa for free. The $ 5 isn’t worth it for the cold/hard chips served. My wife and I split fajitas. They were served cold and the beans/rice were very bland. Like I said we wanted this restaurant to be really good. My wife and I love Mexican food, but this is our first and last time at Brooklyn Cantina.
