Just about as perfect a townie dive bar as you can get. Skip all to touristy bars down down and hit this place.

Stopped in last night for the first time after seeing a decent beer menu on the beer menu app.
And it was indeed a 5-​star beer listing. A lot of smaller breweries that you can’t find at a lot of places with a wide selection of IPA’s, stouts, porters, lagers, etc. The bar tender was nice but seemed overwhelmed as he was the bartender and waiter. However he kept his cool and knew what he was doing.
We didn’t have any food but next time we will. Everything that we saw come out looked and smelled great.
Definitely a small bar, a popular local hangout as it seemed a lot of people knew eachother. A nice cozy atmosphere.
Be warned that after 9pm the bar is smoking. That’s the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Superb food, excellent service, great prices!!! Amazing brunch. Just all around best place in Jim Thorpe. Love the specials and can’t get enough of the menu. We just keep coming back

Valentines brunch. Outstanding! My wife had the crab Benedict and I had the Filet Mignon w/​lobster sauce. They added phyllo Brie w bacon appetizers and at the end gave us choc covered strawberries and choc covered Fritos (sounds wierd but just great. All I all a great experience w/​friendly service. If you are in Jim Thorpe give it try.

dive bars are supposed to have the best food aren’t they? pulled pork was good! cheeseburger was a burnt puck! the size of a slider (but it wasn’t) a square of white cheese ½ melted… on a hard over cooked piece of ground beef? really! not looking to make lifelong friends, but felt we were annoying the bartenders conversation with her 2 male friends. she def needs some customer service training. i know… it’s a local dive bar, but the help can be welcoming and friendly. and the burger was WAY under mcdonalds $ 1.00 burger quality! oh, when we got our bill, NOT before, we were told they only accept cash. hmmmmmm?

This is the towns only dive bar and we are pretty stoked that we stumbled in it. A local turned us on to it. We LOVED it! My hubby and I had crab omelettes, (OMG), and my son had blueberry french toast. Already wanting to go back!

If you want to get see where the locals hang out for beer, cocktails, food, and good Generation X jukebox hits, then check out Union Publick House (under new management). My fiancé and I were visiting Jim Thorpe for the weekend from NYC, and got introduced to the owner through his farm-​to-​table café a few miles down the road in Lehighton (also worth checking out). We became tempted after hearing about their Cuban Sandwich (and after ordering it, the unexpected sweetness made the trip worth it). The place is what you would expect from a dive bar, but you do get a decent menu (that will only get stronger over time), a connection to the local community, and an evening away from tourists.
