Our waiter was lovely and the host was delightful but the food wasn’t very good at all :(

Had lunch here twice and breakfast once. The first lunch was the cheese board which was delicious and beautiful to look at. It was«Bloody Sunday» and the bloody Mary’s didn’t disappoint. The next time for lunch I had lamb lollipops which were outstanding. The blueberry sauce was delicious and they grilled the lamb perfectly. I also had a Greek salad which was pretty good but missing tomato and cucumbers. I’m not sure how you can make a Greek salad without them! Breakfast was decent. We stayed at the inn and had a voucher. We were disappointed that they were out of cheddar and mushrooms. Both ingredients were in the dishes we tried to order. They made substitutions and the meals came out fine, but I wasn’t impressed with breakfast and would choose to go elsewhere next time. Overall, we had a good experience with lunch both times. The beer selection is good and we got to listen to live music while sitting outside on the porch.

My friend and I came here to eat on 4÷17÷16. We sat down and our order was taken fairly quickly. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 appetizers. The drinks came out fairly quickly. We watched 3 tables that came in after us get their meals, one of those tables even finished and paid their tab while we have still waited for our 2 appetizers. After about 35 minutes we requested the check for the drinks without getting our food. At that point we were advised that one appetizer was ready. We politely declined and asked again for the check. Within a few minutes the waitress returned with the appetizers and an excuse for why it had taken so long. We declined the food again and just paid for the drinks. I’m very disappointed in how the service was. Especially since it had such positive reviews. Normally I don’t mind when food takes a while, especially if an establishment is crowded. That day, the establishment was not crowded and multiple tables that came in after us finished their entire meals before our APPETIZERS came out. I will probably not come back here again.

On 4÷17÷2016 I decided to take a bike trip to Jim Thorpe based on recommendations from a lot of people. After a great 20-mile ride in a scenic beautiful area I decided to stop in at the Broadway Grill for a quick drink and appetizer before heading home. To keep this review short and to the point, the service was slow and unacceptable. My friend and I ordered a beer and appetizer each. Our beers came within a good time, but no waters which was fine. We noticed many guests from different tables who came in after us get their drinks, appetizers, main course, and bills while we waited for two simple appetizers. After 35 minutes of waiting our waitress arrives and informs us that one of the appetizers was ready but not the other. So I kindly asked for the check for our two beers and informed her that we will be leaving. She informed me that she needed to get a manager to come speak with us. I declined and asked for the check. The waitress came back with our food and asked if we wanted the food or not. I again informed her that we wanted the check. She came back with the check and at that point gave an excuse in why our food was late, and blamed the mistake on the kitchen. Based on other reviews it seems as though this place has decent food, and many guests seem to be happy with the service. I am the one off guest who seem to have had bad service. I do plan to visit Jim Thorpe again, but will not be visiting this establishment.

The children’s hamburger and potato wedges were the best part of our meal. If I ever eat here again I’ll stick to pub fare! Décor in dining room is somewhat unfortunate and depressing. Service was adequate, food was a disappointment!

We had a fantastic breakfast here — eggs and potatoes were cooked perfectly, toast, bacon, and corn beef hash were delicious and high quality. Service was extremely quick and prices were great(made even more great by the hotel voucher). The night before, we stopped off at the bar to finish our night — great selection of beers and easy, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely give this place a try!

Of all the places we’ve eaten in JT, we’ve had our share of let downs. We always say, «why didn’t we just eat at broadway, where its comfy, and you know it will be good.» Located inside the haunted, yet pricey Inn at Jim Thorpe. $ 1.50 beers, specials, awesome burgers, oysters, and not to mention our room is 50 feet away in the Inn, the grill is our 2nd home in Jim Thorpe. We’ve been going there for years, and we have a ritual of just after check in, heading right to the grill for a beer(or 7) chicken fingers and potato wedges(on the kids/snack menu, but the bartenders are cool about letting you order them). Perfect post car ride snack. On broadway/race streets you’ll find over a half dozen eclectic/purposely weird/over priced tourist traps which are all good to try at least once, but the broadway grill’s menu is normal yet adventurous(sushi, tapas, wild game) and decently priced. Also, by far, the best breakfast in town. Stay at the Inn and it’s borderline free with the voucher. Will definitely be back time and time again.

I have been here for breakfast about 4 years ago and decided to try it for dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and provided great service. After waiting for at least 45 minutes for our appetizers, the waitress brought out a complimentary plate of hummus and pita bread(I’m guessing something was going wrong in the kitchen). The margarita lavash was a pleasant starter as well as the blueberry sauce on the lamb. All four of us ordered something different. The chicken pasta was tasty but it would have been nice to have more than three leaves of baby spinach in my bowl of pasta. The beef medallions were also tasty as well as the pork rollatini. The rib-eye steak was the chewiest meat I have ever had(ordered it medium). The greens that came with the steak had great flavor but the asparagus were not edible(they were hard shriveled up sticks).

Came here yesterday, because we’re staying at the inn, had breakfast. Even tho the place was packed our server was amazing! Checked on us, made sure we had a pleasant experience. Today, not so much. The place was dead. We were sat at a dirty table and not given silverware. The hostesses were to busy flirting with the bar tender with their shitty personality’s. No one looked at us for 20 minutes then finally got our drinks. Got our food and weren’t checked on. Had to get up and get my own silverware. And didn’t receive my side of bacon. Depending on who your sever is you may or may not have a pleasant experience. 50⁄50.

Nice selection of craft beer on draft. Friendly waitstaff. The hostess station is upstairs, not on the bar level. Interesting selection. Of organic ‘game’ meats. Bean burger could use a bit more flavor. Pulled pork is very filling. Sweet potato fries. Quaint décor. Good TV in the bar for football

The staff is super friendly and attentive. We were seated right away. They have outdoor seating in the patio which is a nice touch. My friend and I sat outside and took in the view of the town. I’m a huge fan of pulled pork. I tried this dish at various places, this place definitely has one of the best pulled pork dishes! I think the brown sugar they put in their pulled pork really distinguishes it from other pulled pork dishes. My friend had a veggie burger. I tried a little and enjoyed that as well.

Changed the menu. Prompt service. Dont care for ink around my food. Wifes soup was good. NO Elk on menu. Worst pita bread and orange spread. Taste like orange flavored dirt. Great venison dish. Wifes seafood was over spiced. They should not have changed the menu.

Menu looked pretty good but we sat there for 10 minutes after the hostess put us in a booth all the way in the back and all the staff ignored us. So we left. Disappointing.

Not recommended. First we didn’t feel welcome at the restaurant. No drinks menu was offered and no kids menus available until we asked. We had three acceptably behaved kids. Then the food came. The wings were frozen inside and one medium burger was pink and the other medium burger dark. The kids mac and cheese was supremely salty. Generally it was a bad vibe and a bad time. I realize they have to deal with a lot of tourists. Just work hard not to make your displeasure show. I honestly don’t know where you could eat in Jim Thorpe. I guess you go there for the junk stores and ice cream and eat at home.

My fiancé and I recently took a day trip to Jim Thorpe because we’ve both lived relatively close(about an hour away) for our entire lives yet we never visited before. For dinner, we decided to try out the Broadway Pub because it looked to be one of the only menus that wasn’t crazy in price or geared toward eccentric foodies. Our experience started with a pleasant hostess who seated us outside on the New Orleans styled balcony at a quaint table to enjoy the beautiful evening. We were soon greeted by our waitress(Autumn) who’s warm demeanor and pleasant banter were enough to set the tone for a great experience. Unfamiliar with some of the items on the menu, Autumn made a few suggestions in terms of both food and drink. I must say, her suggestions were spot on and we didn’t regret following her lead one bit. We started off with the empanadas for our appetizer. We were told the chef was from the Dominican Republic and that this is probably as close to getting the real deal outside the country as possible. Never before having them, we were blown away. Autumn’s description of what to expect was perfect and we were so happy we ordered them. This treat comes with four empanadas, two of each kind. I believe one was a jalapeño chicken(although I think I’m mistaken on the chicken part… I did have a few brews) but the other was definitely a cilantro beef. First off, I’m not a fan of jalapeño but I gave them a whirl and actually found I enjoyed them more than the cilantro beef, the exact opposite of what I expected. Secondly, it was a great option to share with another person because it appeased our hungry without making us too full for the main course. My fiancé ordered the Broadway Burger and I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. I substituted the sweet potato fries for the potato wedges. WOW, the potato wedges were so tasty and were also cooked to perfection. I’m not sure of the seasoning, but it was just the right amount and a great way to kick up the flavor. We also got a side of Sriracha mayo(not something I would normally try) and I just couldn’t get enough of it. Autumn happily brought us each a second helping to keep the party rolling on the french fries. My fiancé’s burger was cooked perfectly to her liking and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The ciabatta bun it came on was the perfect level of both soft and thick. The same bun came on my pulled pork. When it comes to BBQ sauces I’m pretty particular and this sandwich didn’t disappoint at all. I tend to lean toward sweet sauces myself and this BBQ was absolutely perfect. It complimented the pork without trying to steal the show. The onion straws were a pleasant surprise and really pulled the sandwich together. On top of all of this, the portions were perfect for the price as well. All in all, we really couldn’t have been happier with our dining experience and would certainly go there again the next time we come to town. If you go, be sure to ask for Autumn as your server, she is so good! She does a great job finding the perfect balance of making sure you’re taken care of while never once being annoying or interrupting your meal. My fiancé and I don’t have enough good things to say about her or our meal. You won’t regret it!

We came early in the morning, we were seated quickly. The service was great, we got our breakfast in reasonable time, love the atmosphere, the waitress was very nice and told us what we should go and see. The breakfast was fresh and warm(plus super crunchy bacon) We can wait to have dinner here!

Wife ordered tuna melt, I sprung for $ 20 elk burger. I was on vacation, so what the heck? Treat myself. I deserve it. Fancy it up a bit. 30 minutes later, we’re still waiting for the food, and our server hasn’t even stopped by to explain what’s taking so long. Still, I’m thinking, «this is probably one of those it-was-worth-the-wait situations.» Minutes later, food arrives. Wife’s tuna melt missing two key ingredients — tuna and cheese. They hardly gave her any of either. And sandwich was bland too. I would describe my dish as a round piece of dry looking meat between two pieces of bread. And provolone cheese that wasn’t fully melted. I sliced it in half first to check how it was cooked. It was over cooked. Elsewhere on the plate sat a leaf of lettuce with a slice of tomato on top. My wife was reminded of what plated food looks like at Friendly’s. Though she also insisted that tuna melts at friendly’s are way better than the one she had here. My server finally came by to ask us how we were doing after we had already finished. I sugarcoated my true feelings by simply saying I was underwhelmed. I told her the basic problems with our meals. She pretended to care. No manager came over to visit. The only thing delivered on time was the $ 44.96 bill. Don’t go here.

We stayed at the Inn for a couple days and stopped in here a few times for a drink. It’s a really nice, cozy place to have a cocktail. The bartenders were all very nice! But the food we tried($ 14 Honey Goat Cheese Crock and $ 12 Cuban) were just lacking any inspiration. Also the cheese crock was supposed to be served with«warmed French and multi-grain baguettes» and we received cold, hard French bread, a pita cut in half, and a few whole tortilla shells fried. Weirdest bread bowl ever. I wouldn’t have minded munching on some edamame, but couldn’t justify spending $ 9 for a bowl of soybeans. In Philly most places charge around $ 5 for edamame, so was definitely surprised to see these kind of prices in the mountains. Also, on our last night in Jim Thorpe we went in around 10:30 and asked for the Late Menu because we were starving and nothing else was open in town, but were told they stopped serving at 9pm. Their website says it is served until 11pm on Wednesdays, so we had to hit the Inn’s vending machines. Booooo.

Ate here one night since we had a voucher. We ended up opting to get several appetizers and ordered way too much food. We had the pizza, mussels, cheese/antipasto board, wings and spring rolls. All were good and did not appear to be premade. Beer selection was good and the service was attentive and pleasant. Came back the next night and sat up front at the bar which has a great ambiance. Drinks were very good and the staff was once again attentive and easy to deal with.
