I love this place! My family has been coming here since I was a little girl. One of my favorites is the Catfish Fritters which has been the Friday special every week for years. I also love their cheese burgers. If you are feeling a little adventurous, try the pony shoe which is a slice of toast topped with a hamburger covered in french fries and melted cheese! They also serve the best onion rings. My family always orders the thick ones but you can also order shoestring if that is what you prefer. I have never had a bad meal at White Spot, but would definitely recommend a cheese burger.

We liked it. Waitress was nice & not pushy, considerate. We selected crispy chicken chef salad-chicken was tasty good & fresh salad fixin’s, pony hamburger shoe — tasty! And patty melt & Cole slaw-single hamburger was good & Cole slaw was good. We will comeback.

Absolutely delightful Midwestern local diner — it’s been in business on the main drag 60 years and is now run by second owners. Famous in area for delicious broasted chicken although I had. BLT, and I saw various plates passing by held generous. Seats maybe 50 — personable workers — honest prices. Truly a breath of fresh air for a Chicago native visiting from out of the tension zone! Imagine — being able to not have to select from all the chains(Arby’s, Wendy’s, BK, McD, Chipotle, etc) that are making everywhere we travel look the same! Hope I can get back here another time. I’m definitely a fan! If you’re into organic and seeking kashi-quinoa-bulgar, best you keep going down the road and good luck!

Had breakfast with my wife. My Breakfast Scramble was good for 5 bucks. Wife’s omelet had very runny eggs. The waitress apologized and didn’t charge. She was very nice. Not the usual situation out of the kitchen. They are generally on it. It happens

The White Spot is a hidden gem if you like old fashioned diners! I’ve been going to it for years, and to this day has the best onion rings I’ve ever had. Buy them for your Thanksgiving green bean casserole and place on top of casserole right before serving! That way they stay crunchy. Sharon

I found this little gem on Unilocal while passing through town! Every review said the onion rings were the best. They told the truth! Hubby and I shared an order, it was enough for 4! Our burgers were very good, loved the warm, soft, toasted bun! The next table had cole slaw that looked so yummy, we split one of those too! It was very good; fresh and crunchy with a tasty dressing! Would definitely stop in again! They had many items on the menu that looked good!

One of the nice things about my job is I go all over the place. One of the nice things about Unilocal is they have a mobile app which tells you about places around you. I think you can see why these two things come together to make me happy and allows me to find awesome places you would normally look over. This is one of those gems. The White Spot is an old restaurant where the food is good and greasy and the prices are cheap. The onion rings are hand breaded and you get a TON. I got the onion strings on advice from the waitress and there was enough to eat as a meal or share between 3 people. I also got a horse shoe with chicken strips(again recommended by the waitress). There were a ton of fries, 5 chicken strips, 2 pieces of Texas toast and a generous amount of cheese. I loved it! I cannot wait to be back in this area so I can come here again and try some more of their dishes. The other cool thing about this place is that the atmosphere is great. There were a ton of people who were obviously regulars yet the waitress was very nice to me, a new guy obviously not from the area. I enjoyed the feel of going into a place where I am sure the walls have more stories to tell than a library could hold and where you get a great feeling of community.

World famous onion rings. I’ve done a great deal of evangelical work for the White Spot. Their pies are good, but if you’re in Jersey County for whatever reason… get the onion rings here. And maybe a piece of pie. Strawberry if they have it. The local regulars, who are here almost every single day, will help you if you need anything else.

Great Mom and Pop. Has that old dinner feel to it. Good food and the onion rings are the best. They are huge. Simple BLT was outstanding. Watched it being built with a big pile of bacon, from grill to table in about a minute.
